- Today I'm making an Easy Banana Split Cake for our Meal at church.
I hope you all enjoy the southern farm and ministry culture that our lives revolve around.
BANANA Split Cake
2 sticks of butter
2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
1 8oz pkg of cream cheese
2 cups powdered sugar plus
2 Tbls powdered sugar
4 to 5 bananas
1 20oz can crushed pineapple drained
2 cups heavy Whipped cream
1 1/2cups chopped peanuts
Chocolate syrup
Maraschino cherries
Assemble per video instructions

I've made this for years. I toss my sliced bananas with the pineapple juice then drain. The acidity of the juice helps stop the oxidation and the bananas don't brown.
I've been making this for years, but I always use a big tub of cool whip and walnuts instead of peanuts and whipping cream. I think I might try it with the whipping cream though because I bet that is better!

Yes, but 5 of those pounds were for the baby! It was just a selfless act of the mommy to be!! 🤭 When I was pregnant with our 1st baby I told my husband I thought I was retaining water and he said "I think you're retaining food"! LOL
Very old recipe. My coworker in 1982 made it when I worked at a paper mill in SC. I loved it so had to look it up.
Hi Leslie. I love this recipe. You can make individual servings in 4 oz Mason jars. They are adorable and help keep portion size small. Unless you want a lot of them, you'll have to cut the recipe.

Thats how i make my BANANA SPLIT CREAM PIE. For the Banana Split CAKE, I put CAKE on the bottom of the dish, a little sprinkling of the pineapple juice and thin chocolate ganache spread over all. Then i make the cream filling with some chopped cherries and drained pineapple spread over all and another layer of ganache followed by the whipped cream to top. The whipped cream is stabilized if piped on, or just a large rosette in the center with a little cherry, pineapple and chocolate shaving or curls. I do tge pie and the cake the same ways with the pie bottom graham crackers and the cake, actual cake on the bottom.
Leslie first time I had this dessert my best friend's mom made it. It was so good she told me it was in the church cookbook so I bought the cookbook.... Looks so yummy God bless you...

Soak the sliced bananas in the pineapple juice that was drained from the crushed pineapple and they will not turn brown. My recipe I have used for years calls for this and it works great! I used chopped pecans and we love them better than the peanuts.

Only thing i would change is i would use some toasted pecans instead of the peanuts...looks really good. Thanks for sharing

I made this cake years ago. It is very good. I did not use peanuts, I used chopped pecans. Similar but little differences. My cream cheese only had powdered sugar in it not a stick of butter. It was delicious.
I also make mine with chopped pecans. To my cream cheese and powdered sugar, I added plain or vanilla yogurt and vanilla. Wonderful and easy dessert!

Sometimes I add banana or almond extract instead of vanilla (I'd try banana with this). I love to play with different extracts to see how the flavors may enhance one thing or another. I love the way Judah remembered to use their outro too! Those boys are adorable!

Hi Leslie, I'm Terri from Oregon. Long time subscriber, 1st time commenter! 🤭. I absolutely love your channel. I used to make this all the time. My family, friends and coworkers requested it everytime we had a pot luck. I ended up changing it a little bit when I made it during the summer because that's when our Oregon strawberries come in season, so on top of the sliced bananas and crushed pineapple I add sliced strawberries! If you think about it, what's a banana split without strawberries? 😊 It's just a little different but it adds a little sumpthin. And instead of peanuts I use a small bag of "sundae topping nuts" that you find in the section of the store where the cake mixes and shelled nuts are. I only use those when they are on sale. I just like the combination of different nuts that come in the bag. For some reason I have a hard time finding salted peanuts, and I'm not sure how dry roasted would taste? Law I love this dessert. I can't have the pineapple I'm allergic. So I add caramelized pecans to it to boost the flavor.

Put banana in lemon juice quickly and then add them they don’t turn dark!!!!!!!
