Today, I went to my thinking place which is a temple in Wat Yansangwararam (10km from Pattaya). The literal translation of this temple is: Replica of the Buddha's footprint
. I come here to think and get answers to my questions.

I want to stop here forever because it's such a beautiful country with so much to offer but I will run out of money eventually. I've spent a lot of money preparing the bike and I'm going touring in the next month so I need all the help I can get.

Or use the superchat thing :) I thank every one of you who have already pledged money, it's helped me fulfil my dream and got me out of pain!
I am so happy and pleased for you Tony, 😊 I am also in the same kind of situation with all of the above back here in the U & K with no help and only pointless leaflets and suggestions by the physio. 🤨 👊🏼💥😵
My ex-partner visited Thailand with her parents for three weeks just before she moved in with me. They landed in Bangkok visiting numerous Temples etc before proceeding up to Chiang Mai where they stayed at a hotel on the river spending time with the elephants riding and visiting the various elephant sanctuaries etc that’s if my memory serves me correctly, they then flew down to Phuket for the last two weeks of the holiday visiting the numerous islands by boat including the famous James Bond Island etc this was before the year 2000 and therefore pre 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami which wiped out the Beaches and Hotel they had visited and stayed at. 😔 🙏🏻 ☸️ ✝️ this would be in memory of her as she passed away in late September 2013. 😔
I cannot wait to see your new Thailand Adventures and or Road Trip, all the best Tony mate and eagerly awaiting updates etc. 👍🏼
WOW, mate... What a story!
I'm just sad that it ended so soon, you have my sympathy.
I went to Bangkok the other day but that was an absolute disaster. I booked a hotel room on the top floor of the tallest hotel but when I got there, I couldn't park anywhere so I called the hotel - they told me that the reservation was cancelled due to a payment fault so I had to ride all the way home again. Never mind, it's all experience and I didn't suffer in the 49C heat much.
I will be visiting Chiang Mai and every temple I can find. I'll also be visiting places like Phu Chi Fa and doing the Mae Hong Son loop which is full of beauty, I'll also visit James Bond island and end up in Phuket but I might go further south than that (if it's safe). This whole country is filled with natural beaty and the temples are mind blowing. Hopefully, you'll be able to see what she saw when she came over here before 2000.
Well Tony , we have uncovered yet another talent…..brilliant travelogue. You are a natural , and looking forward to the tour. As you know , I am a Honda bike fan so good choice in the right colour. Wendy thinks you are a reincarnated Thai Buddhist monk because you look inscrutable and seem immediately at home…..but we both know she’s a bit ditzy……Snowing here and we are both suffering from leg pains !
I wouldn't say I'm a natural mate, I'm just good at editing!
I want to research Buddhist monks and see what their life is all about, I don't know how they do it but everything looks so peaceful when you see them. The bike is coming along nicely now, I've got side panniers, topbox and crash bars to fit next week, I'll have plenty of space for touring.
Well done mate I'm happy for you. I wish you all the best you did make the right decision.
Every day I remind myself that I'm in Thailand and every day I can't believe it. The UK didn't feel like home for many years but now, I feel like I'm at home.
Peace brother. The place looks totally awesome
It is awesome, I haven't come across anything I don't like yet.
Well this makes me want to go to Thailand. Looks like a beautiful country.
Please visit this place, I can guarantee that it'll change your life.
You seem to be healing nicely mate. It's good to see upbeat vids. I'm happy for you.
As they say..... things can only get better. When I was in the UK, I was very depressed about not being able to do things but now, I feel 30 years younger, honestly I do. I'm hoping to regain the feeling in my leg and foot one day, I'm not holding my breath but I'm optimistic.
Home is where the heart is and almost pain free as well.....Happy days bud
They certainly are happy days mate :)
You look happy Tony !!
I am happy mate, I haven't been this happy since Chloe was born 😁
Hi Tony, would you mind, in an upcoming video speaking about how you went about getting a permanent place to stay, and the visa, how long does it allow you to stay in Thailand, do you need to keep renewing it, if you would feel this is not something you want to talk about, i would understand, and will still be happy to follow your journey. 👍
No mate, I don't mind at all but there are certain things I can't disclose. It's always best to use an agent for anything legal, they know the ropes and they don't charge much. I applied for my visa via my agent and it came back within a month, it lasts for 12 months and the renewal price is half of the initial cost. I have to report to immigration every 90 days so they can keep an eye on me but that's no big deal.
If you need any more detail, I'll gladly answer you if you drop me an email - vortecks2000@gmail.com
Sure hope you get your ebike itch again since your healthy and looking grand 🎉. Thailand seems like a good place since its way cheaper to make one.
I'm already itching to build one and there are no laws against them here. Sadly, finance plays a big part in everything I do now.
Hearing about your massage experience is really really great and its spurring me on...
Keep going mate, there is a natural cure for everything out there, you just have to find it.
Looking forward to watching this one this evening :) Love your humour and crackin videos!
Thank you, Sir. I hope you enjoy 😁
Crackin Tony. Keep us posted... the place looks amazing :) 20 minutes of my evening well spent.
I fully understand Tony. I left the UK 23 years ago and to be honest, I have never looked back. I only miss fish and chips from a local chippy and Branston pickle. I'm in Europe and while it is going slightly downhill, it is a far better place to be. I did consider Thailand, had heard many good reports from people that had been there and the odd ones who moved there, but am now too old to make that move. When I left the UK I thought it was bad then, but now, F**k me, what I see in the news is just bloody mad. You couldn't make it up. I hope you have a great time and life there, good luck from one of your 'original' followers (and continuing follower).👍
I found a place called Siamburies where they sell Branston and everything else that's British. Also, there's a chippy opened up a few miles from here and they sell traditional fish & chips. I've still got to visit it though.
Don't ever say that you're too old, people come here to retire at a very old age and you only have to make the journey once. It's a completely different place to the UK and I tell everyone that I can guarantee that it'll change your life forever!
Some beautiful sites for sure, amazing how good the build quality and architecture is. Love the bike, can’t get over how cheap it was compared to buying in the uk. Any plans on RC stuff in the future. Maybe something like a mavic mini, cheap and great footage with zero hassle or building. Looking forward to more footage of this cracking place👍
I haven't started touring yet mate, this is noting compared to the things I will see.
I already have a Mavic Mini so yes, there will be RC videos in the future but at the moment, there's not much to see from the skies.
Looks like a great place to live and you're enjoying life again and getting out. The bike looks amazing and so cheap compared to the uk and it gets you too all these lovely places. I'm so glad that you've feeling better apart from the man flu which I think we have all had this year. Thanks for the update on your new journey of recovery.
Cheers mate and yes, I am feeling much better. I wish I'd done this years ago and I could have built some amazing e-bikes but there's still time!
Man flu is just the worst thing ever, especially when it's terminal.
@@Vortecks Man Flu... tell me about it, clinging on for dear life here, lol.
Love watching your adventures and look forward to a tour of Thailand Tony. Wished I had the bottle to move away from the UK,got the money, retired from work and single ,but not the nerve. Cant wait until we get warmer weather only about 8c here today
I've never been a travelling man and I didn't have the nerve either, I hadn't been abroad for 12 years and suddenly, I find myself living here. I had to put the flat on the market (I've never sold a property in my life) and I'm still trying to sort it from here but the world is such a small place now. Don't let anything hold you back from living a happy life and only regret the things you never did. It's been a lovely 39c here today, thank goodness for air-con 😁
@@VortecksI imagined you’d rent out the flat...anyway I’m so happy for you and I’m pondering the Philippines 😊
Fantastic Tony, Thailand's on my "to-do" list, me and a mate were supposed to go in 2020 but Covid put that idea out the window, If you are enjoying it and are more pain free thats all that matters, it's you're life to live and if the UK isnt working for you then its time to find somewhere that does, the warmer weather generally does wonders for health compared to the wet damp UK.
You've got to visit here, it'll change your life, I can guarantee it.
When I got to Dubai to catch the connecting flight, I could feel the pains slowly disappear. The heat is very good for aches and pains and the massage gets rid of the tough parts. Make sure you book that flight, you'll never regret it mate.
Take Tony's advise, but don't just go to the touristy places.
Get an internal flight or a car and visit the North of Thailand.
The northern provinces are the real Thailand, and its a different world up here.
Hi Tony. All the best with your life transition and hope your pains just fuck off. Darran the lad who bought your spot welders.
Darren! 😁
Yes mate, I hope the pains do f*** off and they are slowly. This time next year, I'll have the feeling back in my leg and foot 😁
Nice one Tony. Thanks for the update.
Hopefully, as you continue with the massage therapy, the feeling will return to the numb areas.
What happens if someone breaks down in the monkey area ? Can you get Bear spray over there, as a bit of a back up ?
I'm hoping that the feeling will come back, my sciatic nerve 'lump' has now virtually gone but the nerve endings might have been damaged beyond repair.
If anyone breaks down, someone will come along within 5 minutes and stop, I can guarantee it. I've been told to hide behind the bike if I see monkeys, they feel less threatened if they see small people 🤣
Hi T...
Fantastic video mate... Nice to see a bit of the culture ... Nice wheels too ... Glad your settling in ok and acclimatising well... Good news the pain is subsiding as well... I had Thai massages before, the genuine treatment is fantastic. They will relieve the pain and decrease the swelling for you...
Keep up the good work T...
Good to see you up and about enjoying your retirement !!!
Baldie in the UK!!! 👍
Mum? is that you? 🤣🤣
Yes mate, the massages are sorting me out with everything, the swelling has gone down considerably and I'm hoping to regain the feeling in my leg and foot one day 🤞
Pleased to hear your pain free at last Tony, it must be wonderful for you... Thailand is a beautiful place, no wonder you're so happy there...Just Thai people there, for Thai people...Compare that to this hell hole called the UK....The sun shines too, whats not to like?...🤔😏😏😀😀🇬🇧
Yeah, it's how the UK was in the 80's mate where people used to be able to do what they want without anyone questioning their every move.
The sun is quite brutal though, even when it's overcast, the UV index is like a UK day in blazing sunshine. Added to that, the humidity is in the high 80% most of the time....... I love it! 🤣🤣
Sutch beautiful buildings so piecefull find your mind and soul there as you say people are so friendly and nice - I seen a video on FB the other day a woman in Thailand had 5 UK pounds to spend as a test to see wot she could get IE food and a drink from street traders I was amazed the food looks good and cheap 👍
Yes, I can live quite happily on 60 baht (£1.30) a day. If you know where the good food is, it can be very cheap and healthy.
Hi Tony, I like the bike, I got a Honda Jazz 1st edition, it is 20vyeats old and still going strong.
The good old Honda Jazz, I haven't seen one of those for years mate.
You'll like this weeks video then, I went to the Honda dealer to get the bike serviced and they have a brand new Honda Cub - More than 100 million have been produced!
Life is to short mate well done 👍
Awsome bud
Cheers mate 👍
Loving the journey. Last holiday we did in Thailand in 2022 I did a lot of cheap beach massages. As you say they are in there with elbows and feet, lol. Wish you could get the same in the UK but would be chilly and expensive. Cheers!
I could get a Thai massage in the UK but it was £65 for half an hour. £130 an hour compared to £6 an hour over here and it's probably not as vigorous in the UK because they're scared that they might hurt someone.
Every time I go, I ask for a strong person and every time it gets more painful..... I'm not a sadist but I love it!
Thanks for clearing up what 'woodpeckers' do! My day is now complete (well ish) 😁 Enjoy yourself young man 👊 Oh, and while it's on my mind. Please finish off with how you used to as, it's true! 😎🖖
You mean "Life is worth living on this measly earth"? Yes, in this week's video I managed to do it but the battery keeps dying on the camera and I don't realise it. I'll try to improve, honestly 😁
@@Vortecks Cracking 👊 Oh, and the way things are going here, you may see an 'influx' of old gits like me getting out of this 'shit show' over here. 🙄 Just want to spend the last decade (or 2 if lucky) without working out 'what am I today' type 🤪😎🖖
I followed you & your channel for a bit, back when you were on V2 I think of your crazy e-bike. Funny seeing all these crazy e-bikes today from the likes of Sur-ron & Talaria etc, I always think, Tony invented those !
Anyway, Thailand, good place to be for medical treatment !
I like your ADV ! I was on the verge of trading in my 2019 Xmax 300 last year for an ADV350 but I decided to hang on for the next Forza 350 & see what it has to offer.
Will you be building an e-bike in Thailand ?
I hired a Forza for a week and I didn't like it mate. The mirrors are on the fairing so visibility is rather limited, the throttle is way too stiff, the windscreen causes massive buffeting when it's fully down and it does little to reduce it when it's up, the clocks are analogue and they refuse to change them to digital.
As you know, the Forza and ADV are the same bike underneath but the ADV feels like a motorbike and not a scooter, the Forza feels like a scooter. You're right in holding on to your Xmax, they're much better than a Forza in my opinion and the Xmax has one of the most comfortable seats ever!
If you'd done that same length journey back here in UK, you'd have come off the bike and knackered the suspension about twenty times due to the potholes😀
Or If you have any fillings they would be shaken out, never known such bad roads in my life
👍@@jcb208
I went for a ride on the motorway last night, 70mph for one hour solid. I didn't have to brake, swerve, decelerate or nothing for one hour and then, one hour back. No potholes, no uneven surfaces, no sunken drains, no stress and, no pain. Thailand has 5G coverage everywhere, every pharmacy has a fully trained doctor behind the counter and the hospitals are described as a hotel with doctors in. A friend of mine broke 2 ribs, he had an X-Ray and they weren't happy so they did an MRI to be sure. They sent him home with a bag of sweets and charged him £120 for the treatment.
I went to have my front tooth re-crowned. In the UK, they wanted £1,350 for the crown and a 6 week waiting list. Over here, I walked into a dentist, got seen within 5 minutes, I had a molar extracted, 2 X-Rays and the crown done for £320 and I had ZERO pain.
Thailand is seen to be a third world country? Where is the third world country now?
@@Vortecks Yep, it was amazing, stong mobile signal pretty much everywhere unlike none or mostly one bar. Even driving across Scotland last weekend 90% zero data signal...
Loving it Tony are your renting over there is it cheap m8
Yes mate, I'm renting a bungalow (the correct name for them is a rondavel). It's plenty big enough for 2 people with a separate kitchen toilet and shower room and it's £175 a month including electric, water, air-con etc, all I have to do is find food which is less than £2 a day.
@@Vortecks thanks for the info Tony thats superb plus keep the vids coming ive been watching from day 1 👌🏴👍
loving the journey bud :)
It's going to get a bit choppy soon, I'll release a video maybe in a couple of weeks where I went to the wrong massage place 🤣
Funny how the Bike Lanes painted signs are in Engrish ? are in Engrish
Yes, it's strange how they seem to use English for critical things. That might explain why Thai people seem to ignore them and I thought they had a special license.
Why cant you not exchange your UK driving licence for a Thai one
I can, sort of. I've still got to have an eye test, reflex test and I have to go to the department of transport on the 21st to get it.
Good move Tony, Englands fucked mate.
You're not kidding mate, I haven't been this happy in decades. It's everything that the UK was like in the 80's.
Tony you need to be making a video every day, upbeat video.
This needs to become your full time job if you wish to keep it going.
I hear what you're saying but it's not possible, it takes me a day to edit a video 🤣
