YOUR BEST VIDEO YET! You even timed the music and made Saturn POP! Love the longer views so all can marvel at your cosmic captures. Brilliant Work, Ben 🪐
I hope you have better luck than I had in finding one. I stumbled on one from a older man that said it 's just to much to handle now a day. He went to a grab and go 120 mm EON ED refractor F/7.5 Orion. He said his grandsons help him set it up. They like it better than the dob because they don't need the step stool. So I got his dob at a still with all 3 cases upper lower and trust tub cases for 825.00 and thats a still. Plus he thru in the 2 in eye pieces. Yes it's a trust tube 14 in Orion dob. and it's great. I hope you find a deal like that sir good luck and keep looking up. The geez from n.c. usa.
@ thanks I think I’ll need it. New price where I am is 6700 for the giro 14” interestingly exactly the same as the 16”. Both flextube model with goto. Bug jump from the 12” flex tube but out of those 2 options I think I know which one is go for now 😉
Thank you! Yes, I've gone back and watched that live view a few times. That was also just a random section of the total capture. I'm going to likely post a TH-cam Short of the frames sorted best to worst and really show off the best data from that evening. It was incredible.
With videos like this you most likely will reach 100-200k subs, but i also recommend to do shorts because i once got 100k views in just few days on another channel. And my channel grew very fast
Amazing photo, once again, and an amazing video to go along side it, you're lucky you had any clear nights cos up here in the North East we've had clouds all day and night for 2 weeks nearly, it only just cleared up tonight. Cant wait to see your next amazing project/image
Yes I've had the same weather unfortunately! My videos usually take a few weeks to completely shoot and edit and this Saturn was captured on the 22nd October.
If you can you should swap the Barlow for a Tele Vue Powermate which is a focal extender type instead of Barlow. Barlows are the plössels of extenders and focal extenders are the more advanced and definitely sharper type. There are more to it but I can’t explain it 😅 I have the Ppwermate x2.5 and it is fantastic.
Focal extenders are good, but not necessarily the best for all systems when it comes to imaging. For a large dobsonian like this, good quality barlows are generally better as you can change up the magnification when the seeing allows. This also helps me reach better sampling options than focal extenders give me. From what I know, Powermates (and focal extenders) are better suited for SCTs as they offer a slightly brighter image which is really important when you are already at a native F11. If I was primarily a visual astronomer, I would have got the powermate for the reasons of eye relief. However, barlows pushing the focus back is a benefit on dobsonians.
I have the 250P, and thus, follow all such videos. Yours is BY FAR, the best! I think I'm buying that camera. I have a long list of possibilities. This seems worth the investment. Is the dispersion corrector worthwhile? I have an AstroPhysics Photo-Visual Barlow (BARADV). And among others, a 5mmTelevue eyepiece. Thanks. Winter finally got here 😢 clouds past 10 days. I just got the 10 to 1 focuser. SW USA, doesn't cary it. FLO sent it to US in 5 days. Amazing. It's time to clean my mirrors. Which colimation system do you use.
Thank you Mike, I appreciate it! I'm also glad to hear buying from FLO went well. The 585 is really awesome for my setup as the sampling is perfect with the barlow I'm using in this video. The 585 sensor is sooo sensitive, even more so than the IMX533 which really surprised me. If you want to do imaging, then an atmospheric dispersion corrector is pretty much a necessity if you plan to photograph any planets below around 45 degrees - which for me, Saturn is always way below that. Even when I'm not using it (for example imaging Jupiter atm as it's so high) I keep it in my imaging train on nights with good seeing to increase the magnification of the barlow to 5x. I use a laser to collimate, I got mine from First Light Optics (I have links in the description) I hope this helps!
I want to capture Saturn before the rings disappear. And it's pretty much below 30 degrees here. I should receive the camera Friday. Thanks for being so passionate and helpful. I'll look into the dispersion corrector. I just haven't seen anyone else mention it.
@@mikehardy8247 Now you've heard about an ADC, you'll see it mentioned everywhere! Nearly every planetary imager uses one :) I hope you enjoy the new camera 🙌✨
Thank you! So glad you're enjoying the videos 🙏 Yes, totally unforgettable. The evening in this video was UNREAL - the views were soooo stable, I couldn't believe it! I've viewed Saturn a good few times now, but that evening was like seeing it for the first time again.
@bbroastro yeah it definitely felt like the first time. Very recently I found Uranus for the first time with my Telescope and it was so awesome to see that I found it for the first time. I hope that one day I will be able to find Neptune.
New sub made my day
Man, you are so underrated, I can't wait until more people find your channel!
Thank you! The road to 10K is on 🙌
The fact that Google itself used your footage shows how great your content is.
Thank you very much! It's still a bit surreal to see my work in that video. Thank you for the comment and stopping by my channel 🙏

Outstanding. Man I really want to get a 14” dob now.
It's a great telescope!

Good content and well presented (as usual). Stunning Saturn. I missed that night, they are few and far between.💫
Great video but I have to point out - Saturn's live view itself was insanely mindblowing! Really shows the power of the 14" dob

Thanks! I actually have a decent following on Instagram from short form content, but I'm keeping my TH-cam primarily long form for now though :)

@@LittleHubble tp is that you??
how were you able to track saturn using dobsonion?
The dobsonian I have is on a GoTo base, this means it can do tracking of targets :)
@bbroastro Alright it is very useful then.
@@bbroastro You need to put that on an equatorial platform... they don't look hard to build if you're a handy man and plans are available online.
