He likes to get involved with some projects and is always a big help, he had some videos he made himself up on this channel before but wanted me to make them private because he is a little older now and is playing the shy card lol but they were his videos so I did what he asked.

Using it at 8 ft. by 8ft. deer blind that is insulated. I have to keep the door cracked for it to get enough air to burn, but that is very likely the wood I've used. Much better quality than I expected for the price. Now if I can just take it easy in the beginning it won't be 90 degrees in my blind. All in all it seems like a keeper.

Warnock-Hersey is a testing lab for stove manufacturers, not a stove manufacturer itself. The Warnock-Hersey model number on a stove indicates that it was tested, but it doesn't identify the stove's manufacturer, make, or model.
Hey so there are some glass cleaners for fireplaces/etc but one of the best things I've found for it is wood ash and water. Get the glass wet, grab a piece of paper/newspaper/paper towel get it wet and dap it in the ash and scrub the glass. I don't usually have to put much elbow grease into it but if this is years and years of baked on crud it might take more.

At the beginning of “making and installing a router insert plate for a workbench” and “ DIY - Tablesaw / Workbench combo - Woodworking” you can see it burning in the background and I’m sure it pops up in some of my other videos because I use it to heat my garage while working on projects.
You can use an Acetone to clean it after the wire brush, I used rubbing alcohol because that is what I had on hand at the time. The paint is a high heat spray paint designed for wood stoves, most hardware stores should carry both.
I got the stove from a friend, it didn’t have the stove bricks in it, he kept them. I bought new ones and lined the inside with it, that is not shown in the video because I got them like a year later.

I redid my Dad’s old wood stove once. No mask. Flap dusk on a handheld grinder. I was breathing the rusty dust I was stirring up. It was obvious from the color of my stool the next morning that I had absorbed a literal s&!t load of iron. Kinda scary, considering iron toxicity, and fascinating at the same time. That story, and a buck and a half will get you a cup of coffee somewhere. Good job.👍
They do make them for drills, the one I used was for a grinder, it’s much beefier and more powerful. They make wire brushes in all shapes and sizes, they are handy.
My friend has the same fireplace box with a slightly different door, his has the seal on the door and the fireplace is flush to meet the door seal, this one has a metal bead on the fireplace and a groove on the door, when closed makes a seal, to my understanding this is the seal and doesn’t require fibreglass. All I know is I’ve been running it for 1.5 months and works like a charm.
I recently redid my 1985 Kodiak stove. I used vinegar soaked bath towels to remove the rust. The pits remain but the rust was gone. It takes a while but all the brown oxide was turned bright grey. Re-coated with liquid "Stove Black" polish.

That's a Kodiak Alaska Stove early 1980's models we have 2 one was free standing called KODIAK wood/ coal type.

Well that I can’t answer, some will say oil others will say paint, the paint worked well for me.

I used rubbing alcohol because it’s what I had on hand. You can get other products that don’t leave a film and clean the dust.

@@BackyardHobbyBoys Very easy to apply, rub it in like shoe polish. Completely restores the finish on cast iron. Look for Imperial stove polish paste.

I didn’t have any acetate or other cleaning solutions so I just used pure rubbing alcohol to clean it before I painted it.

It’s been over 3 years and the paint looks pitted now but no rust, I am also not using in a house but in my garage.
