This is my favorite video when I’m feeling lonely and all alone. My Mom and Dad have passed on and it’s just me left behind as an only child. My Mother was born and raised in Alaska and she grew up without any electricity or running water and they grew everything in the garden and hunted and fished for their meat. My Mom used a wood burning stove with her 14 brothers and sisters for many things. Heating, cooking, being the primary of course. Technology isn't so bad we have the capability to solve and make things better. If it wasn't for technology I wouldn't be educated in different diseases and misunderstandings, I learned how to make my own clothes, what ingredients to look for in skincare, and so much more. You can learn so much more things too. It's not all bad. If you really want to be closer to living something similar to this, but live in an apartment you have enough space to grow some of your own herbs, instead of buying an expensive washing and drying machine or saving up some change to go to the laundry mat just get a galvanized washboard and a drying rack from amazon. I'm a new mom and I wash all my clothes this way. No machine required. I live in a house so I'm lucky to be able to grow my own fruits and vegetables. Best part about manually washing my own clothes I use that same water to water all my fruits, vegetables, and native plants around my house. So nothing gets wasted. There are many other things you can do too. You don't need to have a house to live close to this. The beauty about technology is that once you see it you can learn and begin your journey into actually doing it. Not just be wishing about it.

It’s a good feeling to know you’re doing something the same way people in a different era did. I’m an artist and my favorite media is oil paints. It’s intriguing to entertain the thought that I’m using painting techniques similar to those used by Van Gough, Michelangelo, and other famous painters centuries ago. I find solace in the fact that I’m smelling that same warm, rich oil paint aroma that they did. Modern acrylic paints to me are too cold, runny, dry too fast and they smell like pure chemicals. They don’t compare to the comforting richness of oils. It’s like reading an old book; taking in the smell of the old yellowed paper and ink, hearing the spine crackling as you open it, reading it’s time-honored story. It’s an experience that is appealing to all the senses.

I can’t tell you how these two videos touch my heart. The simple joy of living has gotten lost to most of us. Watching your family live in the beauty and peace of family and farm makes me yearn for a return to the rewarding life our generation has lost. When the first video came out, I tried to find a distributor for Homewood stoves, or even to have it shipped straight from Australia to our address. Hopefully someday Homewood will be available in the US. Thanks for the joy of an uplifting video and for the awesome music.
I totally agree with what Pamela said. I can't say it any better. But I want to add something. Many years ago I catered for a rock and roll concert in California which featured Neil Young and also the Eagles. I cooked most of that meal at my home on a wood burning stove. I was a college kid, but I had a large garden and a Chinese Catering Business. I was on stage behind the curtains when Neil Young sang that song for the first time. It was pure magic. You could hear a pin drop. My wife and I were crying. The lady singing this song understands this song from the heart and somehow sings it better than Neil Young did that night. It was just beautiful. She took me back forty years. I am crying again. I am a manly man, and don't cry. This may be the most beautiful and touching TH-cam video I have ever seen! You nailed IT. You are not selling wood stoves, but family, and family virtue, and a lifestyle -- actually deep and abiding love. Seeing all three generations of your beautiful family sit down to this wonderful meal really touched me. I can remember a year we only spent $40.00 on food for the whole year, and that included the catering business. There is no feeling on earth like feeding a bunch of people you love a gourmet meal they are going to remember for the rest of their lives from food you raised on your own land, and cooked on a wood burning stove with wood you cut and seasoned yourself. Cooking is a means to an end, not an end in itself. The essence of all good cooking is love. I cannot remember the dishes I cooked for that concert. But I can remember all the love I put into it. After the concert was over, the Eagles were talking as they packed up. "We really clicked tonight. Why? What happened?" Then they looked at me. "It was the food." They felt the love.
@@homewoodstoves I should thank you for helping me remember and relive that wonderful memory. My daughter was not quite 2 years old. The day before the concert, I had her safely in a playpen in my big farm kitchen while I cooked. She had an old raggedy Ann doll. It was raining and foggy outside. We were snug and warm thanks to the stove. She needed to be tickled every ten minutes or so. I was not rushed. The food turned out fantastic. My daughter danced at the concert and loved the music. She gave Neil Young a "high five". You did a beautiful thing with your video.
Does he built his own stoves by hand? I think that's what this channel is about. I've seen his show it's quite good, but I need a master stove Builder,
I just wanted to say that this video reminds me of my grandma. She had a gas stove but did ninety percent of her cooking on a wood stove and 100% of it during winter months! Me and my mom have wood burning heaters in our homes for winter, but we cook on them too! Ours don’t have an oven but we cook meals on them in winter but I want a full stove like this one! This video reminded me of simpler, happier times. Both sets of my grandparents are gone now but I’m reminded of them every time I use my wood stove. Thanks for the memories!

Between the ages of 3-7 my family cooked on a wood stove and we loved every minute of it. We lived in Brookings, Oregon, close to the beach, and we loved that state too! Great Memories!
Thank you for that. We had one out in the patio. My mother would cook everything on it. Dad and my brothers would go out to the desert and bring home the wood. Miss those days.

I grew up with one of these stoves. You talking about serving many purposes this is it. Best cooking, it will warm your house so well it will run you out if you're not careful. My mom use to heat water up on ours and I would take a bath near the stove in one of those old tin tubs. They had different sizes & she had a bread warmer to which was up on top where you kept your plates to keep them warm. People need to go back to those stoves I would like to see how the Energy companies would take that.😁😄😆.Oh and the ovens on those stoves baked the best pies, breads, cobblers & cakes. We had all cast iron cookware. Hazel Stoves was the name of the company that made that brand.
What a warm stove and company. @Janet Lewis Hi😁 just have a curious thing, how about in degree avr 25 ish (i mean in summer season)? If the stove make a whole house warm, how would people control temp in summer season?
Wow that video took me back to my child hood. My mom got a electric stove when i was six or seven. She and my grandmother cooked and baked wonderful food on their old wood stove. We did not have a lot of money but our little farm provided so much food, wood and great memories.
Seeing that stove reminds me of my Grandmother's stove which she cooked on when I was a child. It was larger than that stove, but worked the same way and we kept plenty of wood to cook with for both the kitchen stove, and the heater we had in the living room.
Love it! Penelope still hand milks her cow, and churn her own butter (you might catch a glimpse of that in our Heritage video), fresh butter on bread fresh out of the oven is bliss!

@@colinkelley6493 thanks for sharing this wonderful story, Colin.
Each time I see this I cry its so beautiful. Thank you all.
I love the grandparents and their wonderful voices.
Thanks!

Does he built his own stoves by hand? I think that's what this channel is about. I've seen his show it's quite good, but I need a master stove Builder,
@@GS-st9ns No, I don't believe he does - I'd love him to end up with one of our stoves in one of his cabins one day though! 🔥

The aroma in that kitchen would be amazing! Nicely done !
You are so welcome, glad it could bring back treasured memories! 💖🔥
Hello how are you doing 😊😊☺️☺️
For me I cry because I see such a sweet real no dysfunction at all family. Lucky kids. The parents and grandparents are lovely with no mean streaks.. and it's brought down to the kids too💖 They will grow up with no trauma. God bless them!! 💖💖🙏🙏
Wouldn’t it be lovely to step into this lifestyle with our family or these nice folks? God Bless you, good luck with your sales. Your products make the world a better place to be
My mouth was watering watching all that delicious food being cooked on one of the best creations in the world, a solid fuel cooker, and the homewood companion is one of the best I've seen.
It's a commercial, it's a short story, it's a music video, it's EXCELLENT!
Thanks! 😊
This must be a fairy tale family enjoying life together, women being mothers and husband being husband, and fathers

Best commercial I've ever seen. It was inspiring and beautiful. Thanks, for the moment.
I would love to have one of these. I bet the food tastes so much better.
Oh it does. Ever have a wood fired pizza? I think they're better and it's because of the wood cooking.
Oh , Lakea Brown , no compare ! I miss the time of wood stove cooking with great sorrows ! This one is just fabulous , cause if you don t have any fireplace at home , that piece is ok !
You can't beat the good old Mikewave
Lakes Brown, the food DOES taste better! There’s NOTHING LIKE IT!!!

There is nothing more efficient then old school wood stoves in operation!! Take care of it it will take care of you !!Very nice video!! Stay safe and warm out there!!
Wow, I wasn't expecting to cry, thank you for sharing such a heartfelt touching and wholesome family mealtime.
😉
Wood and coal cooking is the best. that's for sure
I have my grandmother's cookware from their stove. That was before I was born
What a warm stove and company.
@Janet Lewis Hi😁 just have a curious thing, how about in degree avr 25 ish (i mean in summer season)? If the stove make a whole house warm, how would people control temp in summer season?
@@helen5732 A lot of folks used to have summer kitchens, screened in.

I work as a manager and make a decent yearly income. But somehow I feel that this family is wealthier than I am.
Oh my God! This was too beautiful! I can’t explain why I was so drawn into this video and the song too!
really glad you enjoyed it!
I would actually download this cover of Harvest moon.
I did the lady has a lovely voice
I really miss my grandparents is made me remind my childhood memories with my grandparents... 😭👌👌
Glad our little video bought back happy memories, even if only for a moment 💖
love the voice of Penelope😘😘😘
very fabulous family
I can feel the warmth and smell the food
When I was a kid my grandmother used to make bread in a wood stove. best bread I ever had!! she churned her own butter too. That's old school.!!
Love it! Penelope still hand milks her cow, and churn her own butter (you might catch a glimpse of that in our Heritage video), fresh butter on bread fresh out of the oven is bliss!
Какая дружная семья, все вместе приготовили замечательный вкусный обед, в печке все вкуснее.
So beautiful stove and so lovely family cooking together, congratulations

The absolute best video I have seen in a long time. I cold smell the wonderful food. I remember the wood cook stove and wish I had one in my house now.
Boy I thought I was the only one that was smelling the food cooking especially the bread. Mmmmmmmmm

I would love to live back in the time and do things like they use to. I would put a store in and rely on it for heating the house and for cooking that way the kids and grandkids would appreciate what they have today.
Gave me wonderful memories of my grandmother. Her wood stove was a bit bigger and I do not remember the brand but it was magical to me as a kid. Yes these are definitely wonderful stoves. If I were healthy enough I would give up my electric stove and get one of these.
