This model is about £8,000 in the UK although you could probably get one for around £5,000 secondhand. Not expensive to run at all - 3.5 hour charge costs £1 and there is zero road fund licence and free servicing for four years. The main expense is the battery lease which is £45 per month for 4,500 miles per year. Obviously this goes up if you do more miles. My wife goes to work in it every day. We've had it about six months now - it's brilliant!
Yes it does seem crazy doesn't it but you have to actually own one to understand it. Our children are grown up so there is only the two of us. We have other cars so this is mainly for fun although my wife commutes to work in it as this is just a 7 mile journey. The point of leasing the battery is that this is NOT in the price of the car and if it ever goes wrong or there is new technology available you're in a good position. It does have a handbrake.
Thanks. Your right that does sound ok. Two more questions if that's alright.1.if you have a low annual milage does the range drop lower & 2.can it go on the motorway(i know). Glad your lovin it . Cheers.
That made me feel a bit twizzy! Looks fun but with no windows I am not sure I would want to leave it unattended and if it rained, could be a bit soggy.
This would be perfect for a 16 year old like me just go back and forth to school, have a stop at a shop etc. Just like what you would do with a bicycle. Too bad i still need to be 18 years old to get a license.
there is a 45 and 75/80(seems some use a wrong name) version 45km/h around €6500,- maybe a bit less and the 75/80 (goes 80+ max 85 km/h) for 7630,- and you lease the battery pack. €35,- and €50,- / month.
Love the review, my Dominos Pizza in Sunderland has just got one I can drop you a couple pics if you're interested. I was using it today and I loved it, seems a bit better on the battery than the figures claim get a lot of good looks from it.
Could you tell me what that costs you & also was it easy to get. I 've been considering one for a bit but (lol) it seems to be v expensive to run. I would value your reply as a real customer . Thanks.
I already mentioned that in other videos, but in the problem is quite clear. I think that the mark was right in the design, it missed them to me in 3 points. 1-are absent that you keep at the window, which damages the comfort and the security of the occupants; 2 - the very low speed, he had to go at least to 100km/h, which would allow his circulation on roads and traces of speed; 3 - noisy motor, there are so efficient motors this all that alone much more silent what ... some they might be included item: I eat condicionador of air, retractable porters (it can up to being of resistant and waterproof cloth) in the front and in the rear, with capacity of 80 liters each ... to load for example a purchase of supermarket or to allow a comfortable travel with 2 passengers. and 1 rack for the ceiling, for the one who likes of surfar or to walk of kayak.. .. the autonomy of 100km is adapted for city limits, but even with the current technology it is already possible to improve this autonomy for more of 200km, with including reduction of the time of quick reload, that would allow to travel with this trolley, it would be a growth to Rhine and the Nissan, if it collected value to a model and the mark ... I guarantee that that added up and reduction of prices of eletricos would make such a vehicle a fever, what it would be good for any world....
It is available in Australia. You just need someone to ship it over to you. You need to contact a transatlantic motorcycle shipping company (because the Twizy will essentially fit into a motorcycle crate) and then have someone buy one for you in the UK, and register it for you in Australia! Private message me if you're serious about this!
firstly ... £8,200 seems ridiculously expensive as you can't even get a family of four in it, heck, you can't even comfortably put two people in it. Secondly.... I wonder if this thing has a handbrake... Imagine trying to do a hill start in that thing without a handbrake! Also... You have to lease the battery pack ? Sounds like Renault have got you hook, line and sinker. YOU pay for the car, then YOU pay monthly to lease the battery pack which you already paid for when you bought the car ?
Put it some Tesla batteries, more speed to get to the highway, more comfortable suspensions, seats and a small tablet screen, no batteries subscription. Then that will be the car of the year. Come on Elon Musk, you can do it !
greenplectrumfilms I think i will probably get one twizy. The concept is the smartest on earth for now but need some improvments. The Opel Ampera E will be an important step too for electric cars in Europ.
(1) It's true gasoline engines are victorian age tech, however so too is the electric motor - since circa 1880. (2).Greenercars (an environmentalist website) rates cars' full lifecycle pollution (from factory to recycling) (well-to-wheel fuel usage). They rate most EVs as no cleaner than a Prius. The large Tesla and Rav4 EVs score quite low.... less than a Jetta diesel sedan and all the various hybrids.
In greecw there are two versions... the one that a license is needed and one that is not the licened one gets at around 80 Km/h and the other one at around 40

Probably the best Twizy video on TH-cam! Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations for being a pioneer for the future! Regards from Brazil!
Very good video! Very sympathic family and what a funny car of the future! Greetings from France! Fred.
It does look like great fun and also quite practical for urban / commuter driving. It's high time we had a micro car revival.
great video and a very nice family...thanks for sharing.
I regularly see them driving around the New Forest. That car is the future.
Thank you. Yes would love to see your pics.

Nice car, good film. Will be great for parking. Can't believe how silent it is!

Twizy is cool but that Mini was great!
Are you going to get windows for it??
No, range stays the same whatever annual mileage you do. Yes you can go on the motorway in the Twizy - but I definitely wouldn't!!
Yes, I thought it would too but you soon get used to it.
day 2 where is it
I wonder how much it would cost to import one here to the states? What is the price for one?
This would be a great vehicle for Hawaii, where I live.
I'm sure you could turn it around inside your driveway
Great Video
Thanks for the info. Do you know any good web sites for public charging points. Thanks again.
Already have them. They zip in and out!
Twizy bit him for not being stylish enough and wearing white socks lol 😂
Unfortunately in Portugal it cannot go on Motorway... and the battery rental/mileage is way too expensive!
I really love it ıt looks so cool and ecofriendly

In the UK you need to have a full licence to drive the Twizy. I'm not sure about other countries.
In greecw there are two versions... the one that a license is needed and one that is not the licened one gets at around 80 Km/h and the other one at around 40
if it had more hp I would buy it
The powerbox fixes that
