First Time Tail of the Dragon

- Took a beautiful ride out to the Tail of the Dragon for the first time. It was still a little bit cold, I will incessantly complain about it. I sped up parts of the first trip up the trail but not the trip back down. I take it easy cause that's my default gear :) but also...was my first time didn't want it to be my last!
I have driven many of the roads over the Pyrenees (they separate France from Spain) and they are crazy twisty. I had to stop last time because my wife was getting motion sick...The Tail of the Dragon looks way more fun.....
It is a blast! I want to go back soon now that it's warming back up.
I watched it on a 50" TV about 12' away. When you sped up the video, I had to look away from the screen because it caused immediate motion sickness. I had to watch the fast video portions with peripheral vision only, then back to direct viewing at the normal video speed. Quick head movements with the helmet mounted camera are also disconcerting. I don't have trouble as long as I'm in or on the moving vehicle, but sitting and watching video made with a wide angle lens causes me problems. I know it doesn't affect everyone, but also I don't think I'm the only one it affects. I'm with you in that I like the talking more than music. Nice video. I like it, other than the sped up portions.
I'll have to watch it on my TV to see. Maybe I should just let the video go longer and not worry about speeding things up.
I have heard so much of the tail of the dragon has anyone done the devils wip. I think it might be us80
There are a lot of great roads around here the Blue Ridge Parkway is supposed to be awesome too.
What model is that quad lock? I need to have that same setup
It is the handlebar mount with vibration dampener added on. You'll have to pick the case for your phone too. I'm liking the Quad Lock but I'm not good enough at it to put it on one handed everytime yet.
I just want to reach through my screen and twist that throttle lol.

@@toekneegreen37 I got the feeling it might have been chilly 😁. I've heard the speed limit is 45 the whole way, and cops will monitor the road.
Get heated grips!
I wish I could. But our cold season is so short I feel like it'd be a waste. But honestly I've never even priced them to see how much they would cost.
@@toekneegreen37 Do you live near Chattanooga? I do and heated grips are the bomb. I ride year round and they are a warm welcome in Winter. I would not own a bike without ABS or heated grips.
Excuse me is not a fun road if you speed up video.. 😂
Lol, gotta make it look like I'm zooming some how. My actual speed wasn't close to fast enough haha
