I largely used them because hot glue doesn't stick to them. I'd like to know how the new ones hold up on that front.

Same. I use these for so many things. Washable paint palette s cove my turn wheel in cement crafts. I even used one to put on my roof to catch rain when the installer cut shingles to short. Thank you for the welcome.🤗

Thanks for the comparison Sherry! I use the cutting boards as pattern templates for sewing. They certainly last longer than paper or cardboard templates. I think the new ones will work for me as well, but every once in awhile clarity does matter for fabric placement.

I’ve been just absorbing all these great storage ideas etc. I’ve had some difficulty changing info for my member status but I’m working on it. I cannot find your mailing address. I think it was a post office box but I don’t know where it is. Not finding in texts, messages etc. if you could send again however best works for you. Now that things have been easier to do through the post office I’m finally getting all my shipping done...and it’s a lot!!! Lol.
FYI: a company I’ve used before...Totally Tiffany...does some similar storage and they cost a FORTUNE!!! Your ideas have been a blessing for my storage challenges! Thank you as always...you are the 🐝 knees. 😊😊😊

I want to thank you for the Great tips. I will try to get both. I have never heard of your Ideals before. I just discovered your channel and I subscribed right a way. Also I live in Crescent City CA and the store went up to $1.25 but right across the border is Brookings Or. The price is still $1.00. So what I get gas I hope to Brookings so guess what. I save on gas, pay no taxes on what I buy. Then O get to go to a nice restaurant for free. My husband Bob who is on heaven used to tease me about this and my arts and craft. Yet he would alway give a card with money on it for these things on all occasions and at the same time . He would get my Special Present 🎁 to open. Yes Our Heavenly Father blessed me with Bob

I think they both will have a purpose in our crafting so therefore having some in our stash would be a good thing.
I use Fiskars' thick punch to punch holes out of those materials to make earrings. Thank you for this video. It was very helpful because I received the same thing in the mail.

Thanks again for sharing I have quite a few of the old ones I use for dividers ....but as I was watching this I was thinking that the new ones being more flexible would probably be an excellent shim for die cutting too maybe less damage to acrylic plates. 🙂

It looks like they would make great shims! I'm always looking for something to use between my cutting plate and my dies--hoping the cutting plate will last longer. I've been using part of a cheap craft cutting mat under my cardstock. I buy the five dollar one at Walmart. It works like a charm, and I can get two pieces from one of them. Thanks for your suggestion!
I wonder if the new style could be taped and still stay sealed? In case I want envelopes that don’t have snaps.
Hi Joni… give it a try. I like using the snaps…but what I demo is always a tweakable blueprint.

I noticed when I made my folio for my cut a parts mine was not clear and it cracked !! The frosted one
Just went to the store and I got the reverse from what you described. The "new" ones in your video are the old ones for me. The ones I got were by Cooking Concepts and the clear ones most recently. These ones suck and are super thin. I wish I could find the less translucent ones. Thinking of looking at other stores or maybe trying their website.
Thought just occurred to me that using a warm iron with a pressing cloth on the crease on the stiffer ones might enhance the crease once the mat is scored.

thanks for letting us know...I will try to get some of the old ones before my store runs out. I was going to use them on the outside of paper covered notebooks, but the new ones will not work for that. I will have to come up with another solution. maybe laminate it.

Thanks so much for your insight. I am curious if you’ve given any thought to the difference the new chopping mats will make to the luminaries you make? I made some of the luminaries for Christmas using the original chopping mats and love the way they turned out! I’m thinking the more opaque mat might not be as “illuminating” 😉
I MADE MY FIRST ENVELOPE WITH THESE MATS AND I LOVE THEM. MY HUSBAND SAID "WHAT A NEAT IDEA" AND THAT IS HIGH PRAISE FROM HIM!!!
I kind of like the more opaque one better, because it holds the folded shape easier.
