People keep comparing Matt to Borat, but this comparison is inaccurate. Borat asked normal people absurd questions to put them in uncomfortable situations. In contrast, Matt asks absurd people perfectly normal questions.

Yes, real debates. I LOVE a good debate but they're so hard to come across now because this neo-Left absolutely cannot handle different perspectives or sharing conflicting ideas to see where we can find common ground. They've become so hungry for hate and disagreement that now they seek it out or create it because their tolerance has become so high that they need more than what's organically out in an imperfect society

We used to have this until quite recently. I'm a Conservative and all of my friends irl are more left-leaning. But our friendships mean more than our political views, so are able to remain friends. We're middle-aged and it's probably more common amongst GenXers to have differing opinions but still respect each other enough to accept one another as we are. Afterall, we grew up in the political incorrectness, crude humour, insulting each other but still maintaining friends era.

Yeah. As a lukewarm Christian myself, I would perhaps add that the more conservative ones tend to be less willing to make any sorts of compromises and it is less likely that they change their opinion during a conversation, because they feel like it's an attack on their faith.
But at the same time, the conversation was respectful on both sides, which I can appreciate a lot. The media image of USA is that not many people are willing to discuss someone of opposing beliefs in a good faith conversation. It's great that there are still some role models (with some influence) to look up to.

I was a "gay rights" activist long before it became the alphabet rainbow. My sister was the first lesbian to get married on television in Quebec, before gay marriage was allowed. I was "happy" for her. But her marriage was a bit of a stunt, and lasted less than a year, because they were both druggies looking for attention. My sister has been sadly single ever since, "looking for love in all the wrong places"...
But I was never an advocate for gay "marriage". I've explained my position to my friends. I do agree that if we have a surplus of orphans, then ANY couple who can "pass the test" of adoption should be allowed to, no matter who they sex with. Adoption is a difficult process, and I think the adoption process needs fixing.
But I am against gay "marriage" in principle, I'm also against "spousal benefits" for non parents. It's a cooptation of motherhood perks. Having your husband's healthcare and power of attorney was not for "living together as a couple" it was for the CHILDREN.
Our world is fuked up. I also disagree with fertility treatments, the principle should be: If you can you shouldn't.
No way I approve of my income tax paying for "gay fertility treatments".
      Surrogacy should be banned.

But according to Matt's faith, a gay person has to refrain from sex and marriage altogether I.e. no lover/partner for the gay people because scripture says it's an abomination.

I'm a white girl, I had a Hispanic boyfriend, and all of my friends were my fellow cheerleaders, who were all different races. These were my FRIENDS. But one day we had an assembly about race, and afterwards, everyone was scared of everyone else. Riots broke out, and I experienced my 1st school lockdown. Days following, we all just walked through the halls with our heads down, alienated from our friends, unsure of who we were allowed to talk to (or not). Hats off to you Jillian Michaels. I commend you for speaking with Matt Walsh. The only way we are accomplish any progress in our society is for us to have a civil conversation and seek to understand each other. You are very articulate and patient. You allowed the guest to express himself in a non confrontational threatening environment. You push back appropriately and respectfully; which is important. I get so discouraged when people do not allow each other to speak. Thank you for having the courage to invite those demonized by parts of society. I agree with Matt on a lot of things as well. I disagree with Jillian about “one black family on tv.” Almost every show I watched as a kid in the late 80’s through mid 90’s were comprised of mainly black casts. I can think of at least 15 off the top of my head. The Cosby’s weren’t even the first, just maybe the first middle/upper class black family on tv. Also, I’m a 40 year old white woman and I’ve been dismissed by doctors since I was an infant. It took 32 years to be diagnosed with celiac disease, which is a very basic test. I delivered 2 babies with no doctors present, because they didn’t believe I was in active labor. I had to beg for an endoscopy for 10 years because I was choking on everything I ate. They told me I was lying and I eventually was diagnosed with an esophageal disease. My son was laughed at by the ER doctor for saying he thinks he has T1D and was literally dying in DKA. He was sent home weighing 67lbs at 12 yrs old, puking his guts out, looking like a literal skeleton. We don’t have a racist healthcare system, we simply just don’t have a healthcare system.

The "marriage" issue is about equivalence. Matt is correct in that there is only one type of two-person human relationship that can procreate naturally: man and woman. It is worth sanctifying because it is the fundamental cornerstone of civilization itself. Jillian is right that other relationships exist outside that optimal pairing and are deserving of legal protection. The answer is simple: civil unions. Some European countries have figured that out.

Most European countries have gay marriage, not civil unions, because they have figured it out. Just like the act of annulment has two meanings, one in religion and one of a legal sense, so does marriage. A marriage can be recognized in a church but it is also a non-religious legal contract. As a Christian, but also an as attorney, I understand that Christians who want the term marriage to only be their religious use, for all legal purposes, are incorrect. It is one word, no one owns, with is uses in two systems, just like annulment has always been, without issue.

One guy tried to talk with a Democrat about the border. She YELLED at him for clapping when Trump said that open borders a problem. I tried to express my respect for RFKJ to another Democrat in the audience... and she became EN RAG ED. "Get away from me if you support Kennedy. He endorsed TR U MP! TR U MP! TR U MP!" Maybe growing up in LA you were only exposed to one tv show with a black family but growing up in Texas, we were exposed to numerous shows with black families. Sanford & son, the Cosby s, Family Matters, the Jefferson’s and I’m sure I could come up with others if I sat here and thought about it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What are you talking about these were public shows on public TV they were everywhere the only thing that was in LA was the lgbtq gay rights movement a lot of those people in those gay cities like San Francisco we're allowed to be more flamboyant than other cities where you grow up does play a role in how you interact with the world but some things are just fundamentally based a man is a man a woman is a woman in a marriage should be between a man and a woman

      @
You ask me what I’m talking about then write a response like you did.🤣🤣🤣I said nothing about gay rights or marriage. Perhaps grammar and sentence structure is taught differently depending on where you’re raised as well. Holy sh!t🤦🏻‍♂️
