When they flashed "$14,970" after DiAngelo handed over her "reparation" payment to Ben, the audience went nuts in my theater. A truly Spinal Tap-level moment of hilarity.
In my theater everyone missed what I considered to be the best part: Matt mansplaining to her the definition of mansplaining.

Great interview! This brought up the question I have--do the DEI anti-racist "experts" really realize what they're doing, and it's intentional, or are they just truly deluded and well-meaning? Loved this; thanks!
I have to say I was quite dissapointed. I felt that a lot of opportunity was wasted to further prove the point of the film had Matt simply got out of his own way. The 2nd scene was a complete waste of time, but could have been incredibly impactful had he simply stopped with the interruptions and obvious sarcasm. Dont get me wrong, I am a big fan of Matt's sarcasm but I think it got in the way at times.
@mecsoljae agreed. It ruined the pacing of the film, too. I found it amusing, but only because all you need to do is let the other side talk. They'll ruin themselves.
@@mecsoljae My sister agreed. She felt he was rude and obnoxious instead of playing the character he was supposed to be, a curious person who was interested in learning to be less racist. I haven’t seen the movie yet but it’s not surprising as he wanted it to be a comedy so was goading them I think.
The simple answer is that these people are so hungry for the grift they'll do anything for the bucks.

When the interview beings DiAngelo asks Walsh what his name is as though she doesn't know him. Are we to believe someone like Robin DiAngelo wouldn't know Matt Walsh in 2024?
They negotiated a fee up front and then he came into her space and set up cameras and she supposedly had no idea who he was. She nor her staff checked out his name before he showed up? No way.
Check out the dining room scene where Walsh somehow managed to get the sole waiter gig. How did he even know of this dinner party and how did he get hired for it? There are multiple cameramen at various angles, yet no cameramen are ever in frame, just like in a film. Why did the waiter bring a camera crew and why were they allowed into this private dinner? Cameras are trained on Walsh when he 'accidentally' drops dishes, and getting closeups on the women from their side. There is no person or chair at the end of the table to get a clear shot. Are we really to believe this is all candid and these women have no idea they're in a production?
All the world is a stage.
The dinners are likely held in various venues, houses of wealthy people who host the events. Easy to convince the two grifting women who run the dinners that a rich benefactor is looking to host a dinner and film the event and will pay handsomely for it. And provide the food and the hired help. There were several other waiters, that we see in a couple of shots. The women all know that a documentary movie is being made.
Her statement decrying how she was deceived and saying that she has donated the $15,000 he paid her is ridiculous get there on her website for all the world to see. Google “About that film … “

@@Bonobo3D I suppose that's feasible. Seems sketchy to me, but I'm skeptical of everything after watching the machinations for a few decades now. The official story for that big day in 2001 has 10,000 holes in it yet has basically gone down the memory hole which is just unbelievable.

i like matt, but this reminds me of alot of other industries where all the main people know each other, even if they're completely opposite competitors. its normal to see rival oil company billionaires at exclusive parties with each other, laughing at poor people. corporate tycoons having CEO clubs and they all laugh together.
i would have some room for doubt, that many of the people in the movie including the left wingers, were in on it, and it generates anti-right hate and likes, which helps both matt and them .
they're all the same, at the end of the day, just different ideas. they all have some level of grift.

Racism is a major issue, don’t try to dumb down the situation.
Yes, we live in a society where it is legal and accepted to be racist against White people (affirmative action, witch hunt circus trials involving white people that legally defended themselves etc), black-washing White characters in “remakes” etc. Academia demonizing Whites and telling women to not reproduce. It is a major issue. Not only is it “immoral”, but civilization needs a large White segment in order to remain functional. Nobody wants the US to become Brazil or (God forbid) Haiti

Racism is a major issue for people who made profits out of it, that's basically the main point of this movie. And Matt literally said quote: "there will always be racism"... Don't try to dumb down the reality of what is stated.

The film demonstrates that racism is a major industry. One that is quite profitable for scam artists. And it was demonstrated by simply allowing those scam artists to speak freely.
