From this day forward, I am proud to announce that we are working with @TonysHotRodGarage and Gunslinger Graphix. All sales are done via their website. Even if you don't like what designs I have up for sale, you can always check out the other channels they make merch for: Shop.scotts-speedshop.com
Same here I all.about.darts and dusters and demons, your duster is a great example of budget.built hot rods. I. Love watching your videos, I think you got a lot of cool.projects, I finally found a V8 K member for my 76 dart lite..someday ill.get.her going. 😊😊😊
I would have to argue with you on that one, be careful with saying that you don't know what you are doing? I have been watching the channel for a minute or two and I will have to say that it was way before COVID and you all have been building, buying, fixing, researching, tear down, machine, product collection and the reassembly of everything else in the Yards, sheds, barns, garage.
Absolutely please finish the Duster project. Jed, I have a set of Headman headers on my 70 340 Dart. That I painted the headers with GALVANIZED PAINT over 15 years ago and the galvanized is still looking pretty good. The finish is like a grayish white primer… ❤ Love the W2 heads!!!
Seen more than 1 person open up the crank a couple tho Jed to except convertor snout with drumel. Also that dusters going to be your best street strip combo you have the way it’s set up especially with that mild of convertor should be a perfect combo to have fun and not break parts at the track, great car.
PS I love jezabel But she’s a monster to learn to race with and the 4 speeds are so tough on drive trains , I raced a B body for years with a slick shifted 18 spline and it still kept me in the poor house with all the proper parts , but god was it fun when the stars lined up😂
They make sanding wheels which several flaps that have a 1/4" shank that can be used on a die grinder that will fit the register if the crankshaft one of those aught to help you get the precision you need safely just might take a little time probably wouldn't even have to work it around (kind use it as a hone potentially)
It was great hanging out with the Holley support guys learning about EFI this past December. Good times. Can't recommend the EFI certification courses enough... 👍
Great video and positivity brother! I’m glad to see things coming together, glad to see car enthusiasts-particularly Mopar guys(& gals😁)helping each other out, and I’m particularly glad to see you recognize every blessing that you receive-from friends, dad, and heavenly father 🙄🙏☺️! The attitude of gratitude is very refreshing, and it paves the way for more to come 😊.
Suggestion on the converter. Transmission/converter shop, driveshaft shop or an engine machine shop will have a lathe large enough to turn down the snout on the converter. I took one to a driveshaft shop and another to a Transmission shop. I think it was like $10-20
I only trust certain people/shops. You can thank man people trying to get one over on me, hence why we'd rather figure out an alternative to a solution. The only machine shop I trust is 2 hours away, but luckily a friend has his big lathe and mill operational and I'm gonna let him tackle it
@@ScottsSpeedShop trust me I understand. Before I found the current machine shop I use, a shop had my heads for 9 months and crank for 6. Looking forward to seeing that nasty 340 get down. Sounds nasty
I definitely feel you on it being hard to love the car you're working on. My Duster is in pieces getting a new wiring harness, interior, ignition system, and cooling system.
Nice to see things are comin to gether for ya :) A guy I worked for had a similar problem with a slant 6 he pulled out of a stick A body.. he had the snout of his torque converter machined to fit the crank.. other than that snag the engine swap went well.
June = 6 month of 1967 on the engine mean it the og for the 1968 year model the first year for the 340 c.i which also mean it the first month they build the engine it usually takes like 6-10 weeks before the engine to go in the vehicle from the factory and take another 2-3 weeks before the vehicles is finish from the factory.
i have the same issue with a 74 360 crank and converter fitment.. its crazy. used a sanding roll to slowly open the crank. still tight but it goes in prperly now.
You do have the lathe, it should be easy to take off .04. Just not sure how you attach the Torque converter to the lathe. Make sure you set it at .02, since its the inner diameter you are cutting. .02 off one end of a circle is taking .02 off the other side
Jed they sell Cerama -Coat in spray cans, I’ve used it on gun barrels, you just need to be able to heat your metal up to around 300 degrees it’s made by Wheeler engineering.
What really sucks is how much Holley jacked up the prices on the carbs. Shits ridicoulous these days. 600 vac sec cost more today than a 1050 Dominator did 20yrs ago.
Sure I would like to see the Duster worked on. Painting it would make it that much better and the right thing to protect the body from rust. PLEASE do not rattle can it when you paint it. Do it right like you try to do mechanical work the right way. Rattle can paint lasts for six months at best and then it fades and oxidizes.
Thats no peephole. That's damage from being kicked out of the truck somewhere - I've had issues with both big shippers. One was a differential carrier they managed to break a part on, and another where a steel bumper that they literally cracked like they had tossed it out of the airplane straight to the tarmac. And hey: nice shades.
I sure hope Holley does something to bring back the way things used to be. Years ago, I bought one of their gold carburetors for a nostalgic hot rod that I am building. The carburetors are around seven hundred and something dollars,so they're very expensive for me. I bought the. The first one and it was perfectly gold plated. I waited about two years to buy the next carburetor. The exact match, so I could have two for my tunnel ram 454. The second one I got after covid. It looks nothing like the first. It doesn't match, and it looks like shit. Nowhere online. Did it say the new gold carbs looked nothing like the old gold carburetors, so now I have about fifteen hundred dollars worth of non matching carburetors. I was told I could send back the pretty gold one and get two ugly ones, but I could never get another pretty gold one. They told me after covid they had to switch materials to go cheaper. That cheaper material doesn't anadize like the old ones. I was very upset and called them and they basically told me there's nothing they could do. I said there's no way you've been selling gold carburetors for this many years and do not have some other parts laying around where you could build me a matching carburetor. They did not care at all and pretty much I was out of luck. Which was very disappointing. I sure hope they change their ways, because I'm going to tell everybody.I know for the rest of my life. Why I have two non matching carburetors on my car. Because Holley has shit parts nowadays compared to before Covid. Which means obviously everything they get comes from China.
I have heard many stories like this along with others, believe me, reports like yours are being looked by people at Holley who DO CARE. Sometimes unfortunately we get dudes who are just okay with doing the bare minimum at their job. And that sounds like the customer service you received, and that is an absolute shame. I wouldn't give up that fight just yet my friend, I know the guy I spoke to went above and beyond my own expectations, hopefully you can reach a dude like that.
@@ScottsSpeedShop means you work for the corporation's. I can see where that could be helpful. They own damn near the entire industry now. Aint no secret. Wish they wouldn't have fucked Mallory up. Used to be my favorite ignition parts.
@thereluctantgearhead4544 no one will ever own me or have a grip on my opinion, I will show my appreciation for a company cutting me a deal, because I'm always grateful when I can save money, who wouldn't be?. I just hope that I share this discount with you guys in the future with giveaways or collaboration deals with other channels. I do agree it's a shame whats happened to many of the once great brands. Accel and mallory have always made the best distributors to me, and it is a shame that nowadays neither one makes a great distributor anymore, not like their 1970s and 1980s counterparts
@@ScottsSpeedShop I am babying my satellite the four speed is not right in it now I’m wondering when I get ready to do something if I should go with a Jerico race set up I don’t want to bust a $3000 18spline that will not take a hard hit at the track
@seanfattireguythomas2994 just because mine didn't doesn't mean yours won't. AN 18 spline can handle way more power than what my 505 made. Remember they were behind full race hemi engines

Nice wheels on the duster 👍🏻🇦🇺.
Thanks for not giving up, and that converter looks better than any B&M I've seen in 10yrs!! Very impressive!!
Thanks man! Glad I could help get you the torque converter and fix the issues! Looking forward to the rest of the build!
Thank you again for all of your help my friend! I'm looking forward to doing more together in the future
That Duster is absolutely going to be smiles for miles.
Glad to see some love for a LA W2 headed small block mopar hells yea man

Duster. Needs to be yeller. The mustard Duster.
But I plan on keeping the green interior hahah, I think that may clash in a really bad way
Just take the converter to a machine shop with all the dimension and have them do it right.
