Maiden makes me cry and headbang at the same time all the time. Beautiful sounds like it might be the wrong word to describe a heavy band, but it really isn't. Their music is beautiful. Hard to put into words why it always makes me emotional

Hell yeah The Iron Maiden. YOU are so damn awesome reviewing this classic. This is probably my favorite IM song also. Had the Live After Death video and also double Live album. So needless to say I was rocking Maiden hard. Never got to see them in concert live but thinking this Summer may be in the cards. Reallly Love how YOU light up for this song. IRON... MAIDEN... 🤟💯
I am SO HAPPY to see that you are back for another set of reviews, with a band I know you ADORE.
That's incredible that Sofee has this song memorized from hearing it so much. 😊
Really beautiful guitar work in this song, and such heartfelt vocals...
I love that Bruce leaves the meaning of the song so open to interpretation.
This song is literally poetry, and I love the effect it has on you.
I interpret the lyrics to be about the shortcomings of Earthly men and women, accompanied by the belief that there are those who will rise and stand above those shortcomings. The lyrics speak to me of being trapped in a world of material things ("walls of gold entomb us") and being divided among ourselves, while our rulers falter and take away our pride. It all feels like a reference to us not being all that we could be, because we follow imperfect leaders. He then sees someone beautiful (a "babe") in this black abyss of the world as we know it, but then he references the "light of the blind," and says, "You'll see," and talks about the Eyes of the Nile opening. I think this is all Bruce's way of saying that eventually we will see there is more to life (as we wait for the dawn), and we will be led by those kings (and queens) who are the watchers and can see it. He then ends the song by saying -- "It is You. Oh, it is You." YOU are the watcher, and you will see this, when the time is right.
I know Bruce himself would ask each person to find their own meaning in this song, but that is my meaning from it, and it is POWERFUL.
    #Powerful
    #Poetic
14:14 -- "I'm just so happy to do this."
THAT is what it's all about, my friend!!
I see at least one blind person already leaving negativity in the comments, but those are the fools who do not wish to see. It's actually very ironic.
But I will tell you that I'm sitting here with a huge smile on my face, reflecting back on this song and its lyrics, and the joy that it brought you. Literal tears of joy. That is the point of all of this, and it's just that simple. Anything else that we can take away from music, and from these beautiful shared experiences with the music, is just another bonus -- more proverbial icing on the cake. 🎂
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your emotions and your tears and your joy through this video, and I'm already looking forward to the next one! 🥳🧡😍

My very favorite Iron Maiden song of all time...thanks for a wonderful review. It's something about the melody after the rock parts that just scream 'memories'....and then it goes upbeat and brings you back, and you start to think about memories and topics today, and it's very soothing to hear.....even at 13 years old it was my favorite, and that was 39 years ago.

If you want to know the real meaning to the song Revelations here it is:
The song starts with the Hymnal from "Oh God of Earth and Alter", An excerpt of an English hymnal, written by G. K. Chesterton, written in the 19th century.
The next two verses on the Hindu philosophy "Just a babe in a black abyss" alludes to Alister Crowley, the word "babe" corresponds to the human being and the "black abyss" means a hopeless world . "No reason for a place like this" shows the nonsense of man's existence on Earth if hope doesn't exist anymore.
Then we come to "the secret of the hanged man" In popular Hindu beliefs the hanged man is a sign of good luck. This is why the song states that he has "a smile on his lips": this is what his secret is.
In the third verse, the most important line is: "The venom that tears my spine". In Yoga, there is a snake called Kundalini who is supposed to live at the base of the spinal cord of every person. During orgasm or intense meditation, a spiritual entity is created, the "Samadhi, symbolizing the transcendental union with God. At that point, the Kundalini is set free and crawls up the spine up to the brain where he releases his venom. The union between the venom and the brain substance then promotes a union with God.
The next verse, "The Eyes of the Nile are opening" imply then that a whole universe of possibilities is open as soon as the venom makes its way into the individual. Whereas the Bible considers the serpent to be evil incarnate, the Hindu philosophy associates it with creation and ecstasy. The serpent has therefore here a positive and constructive aspect. The Serpent's Kiss has also been the topic of many of Crowley's philosophical discussions. Then, "The Eye of the Sun" is mentioned, as the sun is the symbol ofcreation, representing the masculine side of life. The feminine side appears a bit further in the word "Moonlight", the moon being the symbol of femininity. The complete sentence, "Moonlight catches silver tears I cry", closes the full circle, as silver is the color of the sun. We find therefore here both male and female entities, and they cannot be separated. In fact, this philosophy considers the universe to be a dual, binary world where everything only exists because of its opposite. In other words, there is no Manichean dichotomy like in the christian school of thoughts where Good and Evil are kept apart and Evil should be eliminated. Only the christian system of values is monolithic, whereas all the other great philosophies are based on a duality of notions, like the Ying and the Yang in China, or the Jewish Kaballah. Bruce handles all these concepts efficiently and with caution because of their complexity.

Hi, I'm Carlos, from Spain. I am the one whose English smells like a dead cat. How are you?
That's what I like about you, that you go beyond hits. Revelations is one of the Maiden's most underrated songs. Even by the same band. I have been to 7 Maiden concerts (2 in Madrid, Barcelona, Jerez de la Frontera, London, Rome and Paris) and in none of these concerts did they play this song. The lyrics are incredible, like a legendary tale, and at the same time close, that reaches the heart, without being a ballad, and that Bruce sings as he only knows how to do it. And in the music, it has those changes of rhythm so characteristic of the Maiden, with great guitars and obviously the bass and drums, characteristic of Iron Maiden. A band is said to be good when you can recognize their music, removing the vocal tracks. For example, if the Maiden released new songs, instrumentals, and without labeling the CD, you would quickly realize that they are Maiden by their sound.
I hope you get back to reaction music videos because you're doing great.
    A greeting from Spain.

Hi! This song have a lot of "sacred wisdom", since some years ago i think that the meaning is the born or reborn of ourselves... It mentions the fool and hangman (tarot cards), the black abyss can be hell, purgatory or our own world/reality...
Next part, describes the conception of a child, silver tears its a metaphor for sperm, the seed is the child, the holy place is a woman womb and the dawn is the birth...
Finally, the ring in last part is the ring of Salomon in some traditions the true ruler of a nation is who wields "the ring of Salomon" and the phrase "it's you" is just a reminder that all humans have the potential to be gods.
You can also hear powerslave another song with egyptian elements. Grettings from Mexico.

Ha you should do some Zeppelin seeing Jimmy Oage bought and lived in Alistar Crowley mansion .
You can see it in the first 10 minutes if their movie the song remains the same

I think Steven Tyler said that when it comes to interpreting rock and roll lyrics, the "beauty is in the ear of the beholder". And while he was no doubt talking about Aerosmith music (ok I should've said "Aerosmith lyrics") it sounds to me like wisdom that applies to rock and roll in general. It's nice to see music that I grew up with as a kid "honored" by a new generation of talented and wise individuals like yourself

Revelations is certainly one of their best songs ( certainly muche better than The trooper or Run to the hills ).
Its only flaw is the central, faster part ( which I don't find as convincing as the rest of the song ).

Welcome to the end days, Revelation, listen to the meaning, every word a short story of the life and death of humanity.A biblical passage The Beast System, people lining up to die for the beast.
