Thank you for showing my favorite scale. I am familiar with a couple of the layouts you showed here. There are lot more of us. The entire history of my previous layout is well documented on my TH-cam channel, as well as the progress on my latest American Flyer layout.

AC Gilbert certainly manufactured some splendid train sets and accessories in S gauge. A close friend of mine owned American Flyer trains and had a nice layout during the 1960's. He also has a You tube channel, Train Master Bob. We are both retired railroaders. Check out his channel; he is in the process of building one super HO and N scale layout. This was an enjoyable video, thanks.😎🚂🚃🚃🚃✝

Thanks Gary. I also have an American Flyer friend. He had a fantastic collection of post war S gauge, and now collects modern S gauge.

I grew up with 3 rail O and built my own. Now trying Flyer S. Basic equipment can be had for reasonable costs. No need to be a mega collector just operate. Some differences but underlying postwar tec shared by all makers so you can do it if time and health permit.

American Flyer S-Gauge train sizes are midway between Lionel “O” and HO, literally “Half O”. It’s smaller accommodating more “miles” of trackage in a given space yet large enough to facilitate great accessories and play value. Remember, these were TOY trains and NOT highly accurate “MODEL” trains. The realism was by and large better than most “O” gauge of the same era. Two-rail realism incurred anoying wiring complications compared to 3-rail products. My oldest AF train was an outlandish Christmas present from one of my favorite aunt’s, Christmas 1954. It has thousands of operation hours yet still functions perfectly! Check out my channel to see my 70 year old American Flyer trains.
