I think getting samples is a great way to try not to be wasteful. I would imagine that you have more products than you can ever use alone. So getting sample sizes is about not having so much waste. I very much appreciate you trying so many things, so I can narrow down my options.
I agree! Love minis!! The Korean minis last so much longer than American samples. Is it me or does the Korean minis last 2+ months? I do have combo skin (oily to dry).
Mini's are the BEST and I would get that mini pack just to display the cuteness of the packaging. I wish everything came in mini....Alot of mini's can be better value than their larger sizes. Also makes great for refilling other skincare in them and for traveling.
Yes!! i was so surprised when I did the math on yesstyle’s Sulwhasoo minis. They are definitely a better deal! I suspect these are too, although I haven’t worked out the math. And they really are absolutely adorable bottles 😍
Happy Monday all! I’m behind on filming actual reviews, but so you know: I’ll be filming one soon ft Klairs EAA vit c serum, Innisfree’s makeup remover, & Missha’s cushion (are we interested in reviews of Asian makeup as well? Putting out feelers for that lol) Hope you all have a wonderful week!
Yes to Asian makeup! I’m super pale, so products like bronzer, blush, and even eyeshadow can look weird on me because most Americans are obsessed with color pay-off. Right now I’m using a subtle Peripera rosy brown blush as a bronzer-I would much rather have to build it up a little than blend for a hour and still look like a creepy porcelain doll.
Yes to makeup! Its supposed to be more muted which is hard to find, especially in complexion products (plz do swatches compared to other things you own)
Definitely! I’m pretty clueless when it comes to Asian make up the only thing I can say is that they have a dearth of blonde eyebrow products but other than that the only things I’ve really tried are their BB and CC cream which are extremely good -I have a lot of shiny breakout when I have make up on, and it seems that the Asian market is quite advanced when it comes to products to deal with that, but they have so many of these ‘sebum control cushions etc’ I don’t even know where to start! 😂
I'm okay with minis as well especially when it comes to pricey skincare brands. You don't know if you're going to like something and sure you can regift but... That is a cute hat.
Yup exactly. It would be a LOT of money to spend, and for me, if I don’t love it, the personal guilt factor goes up and up haha! I’d much rather figure that out before committing. Thanks! 😁
I love mini/trial/sample sizes. I think they should offer that option for all products to be honest 😁. I always try to get the trial sizes since I love to try out new things but don’t want to commit to the full size until I know for sure I love it.
Ugh I needed one of your videos right now. You’re so refreshing I can’t get enough of your content!! It cheers me up . It also saves me when I want to spend money that I don’t have !! I I just come here instead
I love that Scinic Suncream, I bought 5 of them in my last Stylevana haul! It doesn't sting my eyes at all, I even apply it liberally to my eyelids but of course we're all different, it might sting for some people. And I love minis for trying out new products!
I love minis! I have sensitive skin, so it sucks when I get the normal size and it irritates my skin. Even if the regular size isn’t that expensive, I feel guilty seeing the unused product
Yuuup, exactly. I’ve decided to just start buying minis of exfoliating products for that exact reason. I don’t want to waste a full size if it doesn’t work out, and that seems to be a risky category for me!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Personally, I wish EVERY PRODUCT had a mini size for the same reason that @irisyin6813 mentioned i.e. super duper reactive/sensitive skin. And, btw, I consider that people who complain about influencers using minis need to get a life! (lol)
I agree. I wanted to try Peach Slices since some have said there was no allergic reaction. I have a mild dust allergy, but it still made me break out. I keep forgetting to patch test 😂. Here's to hoping my friend will be willing to take the nearly full cleanser and toner.
Sure buying mini sizes is the best best best idea before commiting to full sizes and I appreciate that you mentioned that you don't want ti promote unnecessary/excess consumption. Thanks for sharing! Love your content
And speaking of the History of Whoo , I know it’s so expensive, but I would absolutely love a brand review if you were able to do one at some point in the future because I find it quite difficult to understand what all the products are for and how to use some of them, so it would be really really good if you were interested in doing that 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤❤❤
I love that scinic sunscreen! A very inoffensive finish, not too shiny. Melts into skin very well! That neogen cream also looks really good- ill have to keep my eye out for it! Happy monday! Love this style of real-life try on. Not only do we get to see your personality, but were right there along with you wondering about the products!
Yeah I really went into the Scinic thinking it would be more basic overall. It has such a nice finish, and for such a good price 🤯 Glad you enjoyed it ☺️
I agree on the emollient comment since I have oily lids, but someone else commented that the newer filters will help with eye irritation. Then the only other problem with emollient is that I need to wipe my eyes often. Maybe that's why I don't wear makeup often.
Watching you do a full routine while fully dressed is like watching a magic trick! 🫣🤣 I would have product ALL over my sleeves and collar.😩 Maybe the white cuffs will help? Off to buy myself some mini’s of something! 😂🫶✌️💕
With History of Whoo, i definitely bought samples sizes (cause regular size is way to expensive) and had to watch videos from Odile Monode the Monodist (i think I spelled it right) on youtube to figure out how to use them...hopefully you like them as much as i did!!
Her videos are so helpful! Yes, I thought they were a pricey brand, then I looked up the essence 🙈 Very expensive, but I feel I do already see the appeal. Beautiful products and it’s actually amazing how many herbs they managed to cram into their products. I’m excited to try them out more!
Alice! Hi! I have been using sweatbands for years. They are super cheap and effective lol got 100 pair for two dollars! Omg everyone talks about how horrible the vitamin c serum smells 😬 yes I heard that sound. It definitely is reminiscent to opening a bottle of soda! Lol that intense fizziness. Face republic created one of my favorite gel moisturizer’s, and then they discontinued it. Such a bummer! Welp, that’s all my commentary for this lovely Monday video haul for the algorithm!
Phoooo it is a smelly one!! I can get past smell but not stinging, so I’m very glad it seems that my skin gets along with it. Very good thinking on the sweatbands!
Oh, and Alice, I don’t know if you are aware of a Korean lady called Odile ‘the monodist’on TH-cam. She has a delightful channel that discusses all things luxury Korean skin care. She delves into a lot of history and it’s quite beautifully done. You might find it very worthwhile to watch…….🤷🏼😀♥️
I love samples sizes, especially the size of The History of Whoo samples. I’ve found so many products I loved or hated this way. It saves you a lot of money. And TH of W is very expensive. But I still want it! Loved this review.
Alice, did you see that Ma:nyo has a 10% galactomyces fermentation filtrate sunscreen (full name: Ma:nyo Galactomy Moisture Sun Serum)? 👀 It was included in Stylevana's most recent NSHALF sale. It's an SPF50 PA++++.
You got a lot of interesting products! I love the Scinic sun essence for summer and it reminded me of the Skin 1004 sunscreen too. I wish I looked as good in hats as you do!
I’m amazed; I think I expected a very basic feeling sunscreen considering it’s one of the best priced options I could find. It feels SO nice on! Thank you ☺️
Agree with you 100% on sample sizes. Before I found Korean and Japanese sunscreens, I could only tolerate mineral sunscreens. I wasted $40 on a tube of tinted mineral sunscreen that "everyone" loved. It applied well etc. etc. I went outside and had an awful photo reaction; red, burning, stinging, red blotches. The sunscreen went into the garbage because I did not have anyone to pawn it off on. This became a waste of both money and plastic. Sample sizes all the way!
Hey Alice, I am so glad you got that history of whoo set -it is gorgeous isn’t it? I think you got the order right- I was exactly the same with the essence, but I think that their essence really is a serum. This is the third set I’ve heard from the company and each one has been divine. The products are amazing and I actually think you get a really good amount of the products I’ve still got the emulsion and balancer left, even though the other products are gone and word of advice, when the essence appears to be finished, take a pair of pliers and get into the container because you will find that you have several applications left if you manage to crack it open. 😁❤🎉
I'm soooo glad you are trying the history of whoo as I feel it's much more affordable and equally luxurious as sulwhasoo 😄 I hope you enjoy it as much as me!!
Your sunscreen picks are 100/10! The scinic sunscreen is amazing even without it being extremely affordable. It's $5 on stylevana and they had a sale where you could get two for that price not long ago.
If they can't find anything negative to say other than you bought minis they should really should suck it up and say something nice. ❤ I'm excited for the water resistant/proof sunscreen video!
I love your blouse. Also I’ve been using the Scinic this summer and like it for how cheap it is. It goes on greasyish on my normal to oily skin, but dries down nicely. For my flat hair I LOVE Kenra products.
Thanks for your comment on the greasy and drying up. I may want to try it as long as it doesn't stay greasy for long. The Purito Daily Go To sunscreen takes a long time to dry for me.
I’ve gone through 3 tubes of the SCINIC spf and I love it. I will apply it under my eyes as well and don’t have any issue w migration. I’m careful though to apply in layers under the eye. I have a cart ready online with addt’l for purchase. It’s a definite winner for me.
You should definitely try the gong jin yang line from history of whoo, it's the all yellow gold bottle, that line is the cheapest one from whoo but I absolutely love the range, it contain a lot of ginseng and cordyceps, really firming on my aging skin 😂, also for anyone who want affordable traditional Han bang skin care, you should absolutely try Cho gong jin, the brand is from missha, medium price point but really high quality 👍
Omg my Sulwhasoo emulsion mini had very similar packaging and is also impossible to get out, so much so that I've literally throw it across the room haha. I legit thought it was a just me thing. P.S. Would love to hear more about The History of Whoo! It's great that so many of the popular kbeauty brands in the west are so affordable but my understanding is that they're geared more towards a younger audience and I've always been really curious about the department brands.
I feel like shifting into the high end K-Beauty involves a very, very different mentality. It’s something I noticed when I was writing out the ingredients in Sulwhasoo’s overnight Vitalizing mask: it’s hard to pick out a handful of ingredients and say “well it includes these these 3 ingredients you all know and love”. Instead, it’s LOTS of herbs, most of which we don’t talk about at all in the west, and it feels like it truly is the mixture of all those responsible for what sets these products apart. It’s fascinating, but SO different!
I wish everything came in a mini size. It is my preferred way to try something new. Less of a commitment. Also as someone who traveled for work for decades, minis are an essential.
Thank You for explaining the PH or why we worry about Vitamin C usage. Its been unclear for so long what they meant really. You're such a great teacher. Love Minis .I wear the Scinic SPF in my rotation of sunscreens and love this one. price is great too. I'm trying the Black Rice Haruharu spf. and the new Purito as soon as my order comes in.
Been binging all the videos I havent watched for the past 2 years but got super excited to see this get posted. I totally agree about minis. It makes more sense to not waste money and product when you arent sure if a product works out for you. I think just about everything for skincare should have some kind of mini. (Totally not saying this as someone thats just facinated by tiny versions of regular sized things)
Oh gosh that reminds me: the mini dabbers of perfumes are some of my FAVORITES. I love how they look like the full size bottles but in a teeny tiny way 😍
Hey Alice...you gotta do the j beauty sunscreens with water resistant! We gotta Teso store here in Dallas, Texas. Like the canmake but there is so much more! We get boggled by the j beauty options.
Great video. I would love you to do a follow up on how History of Whoo worked on your skin. I just never know if it's worth it when alcohol denat is high on the ingredient list. Plenty of cheaper toners don't include that.
Hi Alice, I think the best thing is to buy the mini sizes, because that way you know what you like best in the collection, also that way you know if the products are good for your skin and I would love it if you would do a review of the History of who products . I hope you have a great day 🥰
I think Mini's are great for youtubers because its less waste of the products. Ive been wanting try the scinic sunscreen. Its in my cart. Do you have an Amazon storefront?
The Scinic sunscreen was the very first Asian sunscreen I bought and now everything else I try has to compete with that one. I love minis and purchased a bunch of mini sunscreens I’m working through. Who wouldn’t love a mini?? I don’t get it…
I use the scinic mild most days under makeup if I'm not using BOJ scinic also has one in the orange tube it's thick and nothings get thru that sucker used in Mexico while out on tje water and zero burn or color. It's heavy duty. 😊
😀 my only question about mini sets - do you have enough time/product to form an opinion or see a result, to help you decide about purchasing the full size.
I think it really depends on the product and/or actives. I can decide VERY quickly how I feel about cleanser and moisturizer (as those are skin type-dependent in many ways). With a small retinoid, nah. Those take 2+ months!
@AliceintheRabbitHole Hi, thank you for replying. It has been 3 weeks of ongoing K &J skin care education for me. Really went down that "rabbit hole"! I wanted to thank you for the content you put out. I have been gravitating a lot towards your videos - binge watching and working my way through all the old ones. Also had to sit on my hands to stop myself from ordering on a whim !
I’m new to your channel, and I’ve been binge watching all your videos! I really appreciate all the details you put into your reviews and love your personality!❤️ *also just a request, have you tried the Goodal green tangerine vitamin C serum? It’s very popular right now and I’m curious your thoughts on it. I do really want to get the Bubble vitamin c serum, but have a hard time getting it due to being overseas.
My brain immediately went into hard core buffer mode when you said "some of you might get upset about the minis..." i started staring into invisible cameras like i was jim halpert
I ordered my scinic sunscreen like a week ago and it’s coming soon and i’m so excited, i’m really interested to try out a truly AFFORDABLE sunscreen. 5€ (or USD) is what all sunscreens should be priced at im my opinion so if this performs like i hope it does, i’m really excited. Currently using the Skin1004 sun serum and i’m loving it but if there’s an even cheaper alternative that performs similarly, i’m all in! although there has been some sales on stylevana going on like 2 of those Skin1004 sunscreens for 14€ which means 1 product for 7€ which is also an amazing price for that sunscreen
Yeah I’ve noticed the same thing - stylevana has done some incredible promos with the skin1004 (like a free full size GWP!) Alas, it is nice that the Scinic is consistently priced affordably, and the two really are more similar than I would have guessed!
Mostly time, to be completely transparent. I’ve been asking “why?” about skincare for 6+ years lol. It’s important for me to note this doesn’t make me an expert, but rather an invested enthusiast haha!
I like the products from The History of Whoo . There are so many lines you must try . Due to the high price range I almost always buy their sample sizes . Do look forward to more reviews from you of this brand ! 😊
Thank you so much for that tip about not using a damp face with Vitamin C. I had been doing that with the COSRX Vitamin C 13 (closer to that 15%), so I've reduced its effectiveness but am still enjoying that product. I'm also curious about how you make the graphics to show the ingredients. I apologize if you've answered this before but I've seen many other skincare channels and blogs use the same formatting. I'm curious about how to do it for products I'm researching and how the ingredients are chosen to be bolded or reddened to show positives and negatives (and whether that is done by an algorithm or each creator individually). Thanks so much.
So I use Canva, and I try to take a picture of the ingredients on the box. iPhone is great about copy-pasting from a picture, so it’s pretty easy (as long as it’s not white text on a yellow background lol). I try to bold ingredients the product highlights as well as ingredients with mixed feedback (ie niacinamide/HA - some folks look for them, some are avoiding them). I feel it will always be tricky to emphasize ingredients (after all, some of the so-called filler ingredients serve very important functions!) but I like to think it’s still helpful overall? Hopefully, lol!
It was me raved about the Face republic sunscreen - unless there is another person who did, then hello fellow raver 😄 I had to try the Scinic one too, if not for anything else, then for the price point. It really is quite lightweight so it sits well on my skin - it's not going to be my favorite of all times but hey, it's under 7 EUR/USD, so I won't complain.
I love the Scinic sunscreen. It's really nice on super dry skin. I need that little History of Whoo box. It is related to Sulwhasso somehow or something?? I think Sunscreen minis are a great idea mostly because people are so picky about sunscreen.
I really, really wish it was easier to get samplers of K-Beauty sunscreens (kind of like how Sephora does their annual sunscreen sampler box. That would be SO nice to see from Korean brands!) It’s kind of similar in theme, but surprisingly is under LG (Sulwhasoo is Amorepacific). But yeah, both have that herbal, Hanbang-based concept ☺️
Ooh I've been curious about the axis-y mask! Have you tried the I'm from mugwort mask? It's one of my favorites for immediate calming, is be curious to know how the two compare
Yep! I actually prefer the axis-y, surprisingly! It seems to do a bit more for my monthly breakouts, and yet it isn’t as drying as most clay masks Oh I should add: axis-y has two mugwort masks. One is more gel-like. In order of my preference: axis-y mugwort clay > I’m from mugwort mask > axis-y mugwort gel
Hi Alice, please, if you are to choose one of the illiyoon ceramides ato cream and numbuzin no 2 cica ceramides cream. Which one will it be? Wh8ch do you prefer? Thank you.
Minis have saved me so much money and led me to HGs. YesStyle stopped giving sponsored products unless you meet a referral threshold - bummer, but understandable! My last product was the Face Republic and I did repurchase. It has a slight pine fragrance to me but I really enjoy it for long runs.
People are weird. Minis are a great idea to see if you like a product without wasting your money on a full size. Also, i loooove the scinic spf. Hasn't broke me out barely at all.
i would love for you to rewiev some jayjun products if you ever feel like it. i stumbled upon it recently, and they seem to have a lot of fragrance free products with an interesting concept, and in general they look pretty good. they also have 100ml sunscreens instead of the usual 50ml, but i almost couldt find any rewievs of the brand other than their sheetmasks so i wonder if they released a new line recently
@@AliceintheRabbitHole its super weird! i just got their chemical sunscreen yesterday and its really nice so far so im looking forward to trying some more of their products sometime if it continues to agree with me :)
Hope Alice feels okay with using the Corsx vitamin C serum. My sensitive skin reacts to it on the days of exfoliation and I decided to use it up before changing to a lower percentage Melano vitamin C serum instead. 😅 Whoo does look like Sulwhasoo in packing material. Guess it's the next item for me to look out for 😅 As for body mist, I too use it on the clothes since my skin starts to feel itchy.
I am shocked at how much my skin is okay with it. I haaated the ordinary’s 23% vitamin c, and yet no problems with this (so far!) My biggest concern is how long it will last though. It came in a smidge yellow, which isn’t a color of concern but…will report on how long it takes to turn orange/brown!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole If Alice keep the Corsx vitamin C serum in the fridge, I suppose it will stay clear for another few months. My serum lasted without turning brown or yellow for another 2plus months before I finally cleared its contents. 😄
Hi Alice, enjoyed the video! I have always used L Abscorbic Acid, specifically Timeless. I have been hearing so many good things about Goodal Vitamin C so I ordered it. I'm kinda regretting it, as it is using Green Tangerine as the Vitamin C. I'm not really sure that ingredient will be effective. Have you tried Goodal products?
Sadly I haven’t as they use some EOs that my skin reacts to! Have you looked into geek & gorgeous’ vitamin c? That one is still my favorite, and I love that they ship out only fresh product!
The CosRx Vitamin C serum is literally made not to be used beyond 2months, not just in quantity, but because it really oxidizes and changes colour fast. Granted that it does work quite well, I wish its price was cheaper.
Alice, I think you just told me some thing critical. In fact, a little mind blowing! 🤯 are you supposed to put vitamin C serums made of L-Ascorbic acid directly onto clean dry skin? Because I virtually never do this! 😫 I always try to hydrate my skin so my products penetrate better. So just the other day I did my Timeless C-20 on top of a Spray HA serum, as well as a ceramide serum. I’m guessing this is no bueno?!?!
Yep, onto dry skin, strictly with L-AA due to its pH dependency. Applying it over another product doesn’t mean that it won’t work at ALL, but you’re likely to see better results if you do apply it onto dry skin. Hope that helps!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole TOTALLY helps, actually rocked my world. I've been using L-Ascorbic for years and because it can be a smidge irritating, I've always put down a ceramide essence or some other emolient, soothing product first. Hope you are feeling better.
I was thinking of getting the cosrx vitamin c, but it seems kind of pricey for only 20ml, also I am wary for ordering vitamin c from yesstyle or stylevana as I am afraid they would expire by the time get them, as not sure how well they recheck their old stock...
I purchase mini sizes over full size every time it is available. More brands should make mini's of their products. I hate returning products that do not work with my skin knowing (1) it's going to be thrown away and (2) you get snide looks from sales staff. I ask for samples for these reasons but I'm told they don’t have any for the products I want to try. Oh well.
I heard about that too! Honestly…I have been making express orders since…this whole year 😅 Haven’t had any issues doing that, so maybe if you can compile a bigger order at one time it might be the way to go? ($109 is around $90 after 15% off/rewards code duo - not that I know these numbers way too well LOL)
A K-Beauty Waterproof sunscreen that looks promising is the Dr. Ceuracle Cica Regen Waterproof Sun. The 100ml size seems great for reapplication which you'd be doing more religiously if you need a waterproof sunscreen. Has anyone tried it? What are your thoughts?
I want to try it! However, I’m confused by it not being in stock. I keep checking in on it on the YesStyle website, but it still says “ships in 21 days”. It’s so surprising!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I just checked Stylevana and it’s says “In Stock: Usually shipped within 24 hours” for it! Also just noticed a funny translation mistake: in the packaging they were trying to say it is safe for babies but it’s written “With baby” as if babies were an ingredient 😅
that applicator on the neogen vermin cream seems a bit awkward lol I had their eye cream as my sponsored yesstyle product from that line and it's not bad
What was the finish like on the Scenic sunscreen I was just eyeing that on Amazon today lol it’s like $8 I’m asking bc u were already so gloriously dewy 🤣🤣🤣 LOL 🤍🤍🤍🖤🖤🖤💚💚💚☀️☀️☀️
Right lol! It seems to be lightweight. Still dewy but less so than some (more in line with skin1004; actually if you’ve tried make prem’s sun essence it’s even more like that one!)
Thanks for explaining what that inside plastic lid is supposed to be for. But instead of getting product on the lid, now product is on the inside lid…. Isn’t that about the same thing? LOL
The lid itself has a bit more of a groove to it where the product can collect and get…a bit crusty lol! The insert is shaped to sit flush against the product ☺️
Semi-active. I feel like the only SM I’m truly active on is TH-cam 😅 I do like Asianbeauty the most of all the skincare subreddits though. SCA is a little better lately, but whew, they had a phase of nothing but selfies earlier this year. I appreciate that AB actually *talks* about products lol
It would seem that they don’t have a very stable L-AA formula, so they’re asking customers to put it in the fridge for longevity. I think the EAA is added in for…extra? Especially since they don’t disclose that percentage
If they offer mini sizes and a kit at that why not buy it you can try more figure out if you like it and your not out a ton of money if it doesn't work for your skin, that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard to make comments for not buying full size. I mean maybe someone wants to try it before they spend a ton on the full size with expensive brands too. I just bought the cosrx snail eye patches and the cica fit toner again like my 3 rd bottle . It's so funny how my most loved products aren't the ones u can find at TJ or even Ulta except the proplolis toner they sell at Ulta. Did u see the new Tatcha cleansing balm looks really nice but it's kin of small for the price 1.7 39$
Exactly!! And with so many products out there, I just can’t fathom getting cranky over a review of a mini lol. There’s a LOT to try, and we all only have one face. Better to figure out what works for us! Those are some of the nicest eye patches imo, and yep I’m tempted by the Tatcha! Although I think I’ll wait for Sephora to do a $25 buy-in GWP. For the reasons listed haha! 🤣
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I can't wait to try them I got them for 11$ I just got the PKY ones too last week for the second time I do like those but I still wanted to try the cosrx ones and I like the shape with the added mini ones. O did u see the new Sephora favs sets I got the one with the lawless blush in it but I'm tempted buy the lip shine one too , I wish they put the Merritt lipstick in it , I really want to try baby maybe I should just order the Merritt I have wanted to try it forever and I am in need of new lipstick and lip products. It's like everyone I pick up has gone bad time for a clean out. I know what u mean about the Tatcha but I'm so curious.
Genuinely can’t comprehend how in the heck you’d possibly be able to use every single full-sized product you try for us… Pretty sure you only have one face and two hands.
im sorry people complaining about such weird things. If you only brought full sizes i know they ould whine about you not finnishing up every product you brought. You can't please everyone (and shouldn't try to) :/ Try to keep in mind that just like you wouldn't take advice from just anybody you shouldn't take criticism from just anybody either. All the best
oh yeah in my experience with sunscreens i agree on texture being important. For me water-resistant sunscreens tend to move around less on my face and therefore are less likely to get into my eyes. Octocrylene and homosalate are just straight up cursed sunfilters when it comes to making me cry regardless of formulation. Newer sunscreeen filters also tend to be milder on the eyes. Considering all these i think there will only be coming more sunscreens out my eyes can tolerate :D
Spot on. You just cannot please everyone! That’s a very good point that I hadn’t thought of; water resistant sunscreens are designed to fight sweat as well, which has directly been the source of sunscreen ending up in my own eyes (ouch!!) thanks for sharing!
I think getting samples is a great way to try not to be wasteful. I would imagine that you have more products than you can ever use alone. So getting sample sizes is about not having so much waste. I very much appreciate you trying so many things, so I can narrow down my options.
Absolutely! The risk goes up for my reactive skin with fragrance, and I’d much rather not waste big bottles 🙁
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I very much understand, I have reactive skin also.
I agree! Love minis!! The Korean minis last so much longer than American samples. Is it me or does the Korean minis last 2+ months? I do have combo skin (oily to dry).
@@mandywong1408 I think they last a long time. I have the mini Pyunkang Yul eye cream. It was $4.50 on yes style! So awesome!

Yes!! i was so surprised when I did the math on yesstyle’s Sulwhasoo minis.
Putting out feelers for that lol)
Hope you all have a wonderful week!
Its supposed to be more muted which is hard to find, especially in complexion products (plz do swatches compared to other things you own)
@@LindsayA1231 yeah i feel like lower pigment pay-off is better for beginners too
Yes! Etude House Dr. Mascara products please.

Yeah, agreed. I would love to be able to buy travel sizes at the very least!
Yes! Here here!! Trial sizes for all!!!
Ugh I needed one of your videos right now. You’re so refreshing I can’t get enough of your content!! It cheers me up . It also saves me when I want to spend money that I don’t have !! I I just come here instead
Haha yes, happy to hear! 😁 Hope you have a good evening ☺️
Me too! I love saving money (esp with low income)!!
I love that Scinic Suncream, I bought 5 of them in my last Stylevana haul! It doesn't sting my eyes at all, I even apply it liberally to my eyelids but of course we're all different, it might sting for some people. And I love minis for trying out new products!
Thank you for sharing!
It has such a nice finish, and for such a good price 🤯
Glad you enjoyed it ☺️
The Scinic is my ride or die. I buy 10 tubes at a time.
I agree on the emollient comment since I have oily lids, but someone else commented that the newer filters will help with eye irritation. Then the only other problem with emollient is that I need to wipe my eyes often. Maybe that's why I don't wear makeup often.
@@mandywong1408 I've never had the Scinic burn my eyes. Fog my contacts if it migrates, yes. But it never burns.
Watching you do a full routine while fully dressed is like watching a magic trick! 🫣🤣 I would have product ALL over my sleeves and collar.😩 Maybe the white cuffs will help? Off to buy myself some mini’s of something! 😂🫶✌️💕
I also have to put a towel at the front of my sink. I make such a mess.
@@mandywong1408 Yes! Me too.🤣
The towel-on-sink method really is wondrous! That’s my messy step, otherwise 🤣
It was included in Stylevana's most recent NSHALF sale. It's an SPF50 PA++++.
I actually didn’t, but I did see it in the sale! It sounds nice 😊
Oh nooo! Can I ask what the sunscreen was?

Hey Alice, I am so glad you got that history of whoo set -it is gorgeous isn’t it? I think you got the order right- I was exactly the same with the essence, but I think that their essence really is a serum. This is the third set I’ve heard from the company and each one has been divine. The products are amazing and I actually think you get a really good amount of the products I’ve still got the emulsion and balancer left, even though the other products are gone and word of advice, when the essence appears to be finished, take a pair of pliers and get into the container because you will find that you have several applications left if you manage to crack it open. 😁❤🎉
Thank you so much for the tip! I certainly want to get every drop from these products lol! 😆
Two for $5!? 🤯 wow.
Ahhh, a History of Whoo video! I am so excited!
If they can't find anything negative to say other than you bought minis they should really should suck it up and say something nice. ❤ I'm excited for the water resistant/proof sunscreen video!
I am too! It’s involved a lot of translating so far, but I’m hoping it’s a very helpful video in the end ☺️
I love your blouse. Also I’ve been using the Scinic this summer and like it for how cheap it is. It goes on greasyish on my normal to oily skin, but dries down nicely. For my flat hair I LOVE Kenra products.
Thank you! ☺️
Thanks for sharing! Yeah so far i haven’t had any issues with it in my eyes. It really seems like such a winner!
Can't w8 for the water proof sunscreen video!!! 🥰
Hallo Alice, exactly nothing wrong with mini 's. Loved this
Love the sunscreen. It’s one of my faves
Really look forward to your videos! 💗
I think the minis are a great idea. Better than throwing out a whole full size product.
Happy to help! I’m excited to hear what you think of the Purito, that one really surprised me!
Great haul! You look amazing in that green mask. Goes perfectly with your shirt! ❤
lol it’s a whole look indeed! 🤣💕
I love how they look like the full size bottles but in a teeny tiny way 😍
@@AliceintheRabbitHole yes, those are the best and my absolute favorites. I have a small collection of those and I love them so much 🤩
Hey Alice...you gotta do the j beauty sunscreens with water resistant! We gotta Teso store here in Dallas, Texas. Like the canmake but there is so much more! We get boggled by the j beauty options.
It’s amazing, it’s hard to find K-Beauty water resistant sunscreens, but there are a LOT of J-Beauty options!
❤❤Love your squeal when you see how cute that hat looks on you!❤️❤️
😁😁
History of whoo is so good I use the red line its made from wild ginseng so good for sensative skin.
I hope you have a great day 🥰
Absolutely! I think it’s a smart plan. I’m excited to follow up with the HoW products 😁
Yes to makeup 💄
I love minis, like you said, it's a great way of trying products, love my sulwhasoo minis and i'm definitly trying that history of whoo one
I love minis or travel sizes because so much less waste if I don’t like the product or don’t plan to reorder
I think Mini's are great for youtubers because its less waste of the products. Ive been wanting try the scinic sunscreen. Its in my cart. Do you have an Amazon storefront?
Exactly!! I can’t follow the logic of the critics at all. Waste money and product? I don’t get it!
I was thinking the same thing. You only have one face and products have expiration dates so it seems like a great solution.
The Scinic sunscreen was the very first Asian sunscreen I bought and now everything else I try has to compete with that one. I love minis and purchased a bunch of mini sunscreens I’m working through. Who wouldn’t love a mini?? I don’t get it…
That really is a strong start!
Don't think I am cheap (although I am... LOL). If my socks have holes then I cut off the toe area and I use them as wrist bands.
That’s not cheap, it’s thrifty! 🤩
I use the scinic mild most days under makeup if I'm not using BOJ scinic also has one in the orange tube it's thick and nothings get thru that sucker used in Mexico while out on tje water and zero burn or color. It's heavy duty. 😊
Thanks for sharing! Is the orange one waterproof?
History of Whoo has such great products, but I would never get them unless they are on discount at duty-free outlets and online sellers.
Hi alice ,great video 😊😊 xx
I’m new to your channel, and I’ve been binge watching all your videos! I really appreciate all the details you put into your reviews and love your personality!❤️
*also just a request, have you tried the Goodal green tangerine vitamin C serum? It’s very popular right now and I’m curious your thoughts on it. I do really want to get the Bubble vitamin c serum, but have a hard time getting it due to being overseas.
Ah so sorry, I do want to try that product but it contains one of my allergens 💔😭
@@AliceintheRabbitHole ahh no worries! Never want to mess with that💗
Hi! In kbeauty the term Essence and Serum are used interchangeably. I've learned this on Odile Monod's channel!
Thanks for sharing! That makes so much sense given the texture (and the price of the essence, ouch 😅🤣)
My brain immediately went into hard core buffer mode when you said "some of you might get upset about the minis..." i started staring into invisible cameras like i was jim halpert
🤣
Yeah I’ve noticed the same thing - stylevana has done some incredible promos with the skin1004 (like a free full size GWP!)
Alas, it is nice that the Scinic is consistently priced affordably, and the two really are more similar than I would have guessed!
You are so knowledgeable about the ingredients! May I ask how you acquired all that knowledge?
Mostly time, to be completely transparent. I’ve been asking “why?” about skincare for 6+ years lol.
It’s important for me to note this doesn’t make me an expert, but rather an invested enthusiast haha!
Looking forward to the Cosrx re-review
Were is the headband from I love it
It was me raved about the Face republic sunscreen - unless there is another person who did, then hello fellow raver 😄 I had to try the Scinic one too, if not for anything else, then for the price point. It really is quite lightweight so it sits well on my skin - it's not going to be my favorite of all times but hey, it's under 7 EUR/USD, so I won't complain.
Yup, it was you!! TH-cam had me doubting myself with these new handles in place of names, but I remember now 🤣 So excited to try it out!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole right? I am not happy how they changed them, regardless I'm still me, same old Tom 😆
That would be SO nice to see from Korean brands!)
It’s kind of similar in theme, but surprisingly is under LG (Sulwhasoo is Amorepacific).
It seems to do a bit more for my monthly breakouts, and yet it isn’t as drying as most clay masks
Oh I should add: axis-y has two mugwort masks.
Thank you.
Same sound happened to me yesterday opening the Tia'm vitamin C serum for the first time. Would that be something with vitamin c serums in general?
I wanted to love that Scinic sunscreen so much, but i found that it never truly dried down. There was always a slightly slippery layer on my face
Minis have saved me so much money and led me to HGs.
YesStyle stopped giving sponsored products unless you meet a referral threshold - bummer, but understandable! My last product was the Face Republic and I did repurchase. It has a slight pine fragrance to me but I really enjoy it for long runs.

I like the Scinic and the price is great. Even on amazon around 9$
i would love for you to rewiev some jayjun products if you ever feel like it. i stumbled upon it recently, and they seem to have a lot of fragrance free products with an interesting concept, and in general they look pretty good. they also have 100ml sunscreens instead of the usual 50ml, but i almost couldt find any rewievs of the brand other than their sheetmasks so i wonder if they released a new line recently
Perplexing. I just looked them up on YesStyle, and yeah - thousands of reviews on their eye masks but I don’t see anything else? How odd!
Whoo does look like Sulwhasoo in packing material. Guess it's the next item for me to look out for 😅
As for body mist, I too use it on the clothes since my skin starts to feel itchy.
Yeah, it’s surprising. I wonder why they don’t sell it in smaller bottles given that it doesn’t appear to be too stable of a formula?
Alice, I think you just told me some thing critical. In fact, a little mind blowing! 🤯 are you supposed to put vitamin C serums made of L-Ascorbic acid directly onto clean dry skin?
Because I virtually never do this! 😫 I always try to hydrate my skin so my products penetrate better. So just the other day I did my Timeless C-20 on top of a Spray HA serum, as well as a ceramide serum. I’m guessing this is no bueno?!?!
I use Timeless too and I always apply on clean dry skin. Right after my cleanse.
@@Chilljane00 Because it's an acid, I always put down either an essence or light serum beforehand. Evidently that isn't good protocol!
Tbh I think geek & gorgeous still has the best vitamin c. After all these years, my opinion hasn’t changed. Love that they send fresh product!
Oh well.
I like mini sizes. Esp for skin care. Im picky and i like saving money.
Absolutely. I feel like we should be picky with our skin, as last time I checked, we only have one face lol!
Is YesStyle back to shipping properly? I’ve heard a lot of issues of using fake tracking numbers and I’m scared to order
I think its important to note the alcohol in the sunscreen. My brother used a Holika Holika. He may be using too many actives then again who knows?
In terms of combinations? That is a good point!
that applicator on the neogen vermin cream seems a bit awkward lol I had their eye cream as my sponsored yesstyle product from that line and it's not bad

The Milk makeup sticks have an inner plastic cap. It is the only one I say never toss it. They will dry out quickly. I toss everything else.❌️⭕️
Ooh good to know, as I’m considering the newest Sephora favorites set 👀

I do like Asianbeauty the most of all the skincare subreddits though. SCA is a little better lately, but whew, they had a phase of nothing but selfies earlier this year. I appreciate that AB actually *talks* about products lol
I always prefer a mini. My skin needs a patch test. I wish everything came in a mini ❌️⭕️
Why does 3-O explain ascorbic acid in CosRx 23% need to be in fridge?
It would seem that they don’t have a very stable L-AA formula, so they’re asking customers to put it in the fridge for longevity. I think the EAA is added in for…extra? Especially since they don’t disclose that percentage
Cute cap! Last time you wore a cute hat I went to buy it and it was sold out. 🤨
Thank you! Yeah, yesstyle’s inventory can get a bit confusing! 🫤

Nopemy hair is very flat. Super cute hat. Have a great week ❌️ ⭕️
Thank you, hope you have a great week too! ☺️
im sorry people complaining about such weird things.
Cosrx c13 is way better for sensitive skin. The 23% burned my face off
