I am a bunker tankerman (pic) in New Orleans. We use 30,000 barrel barges and tow boats to fuel ships with MGO, VLSFO (Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil), and RMG 380 (HFO)
Only thing I have known working in the crude oil industry sector is that the sulfur content has been reduced in bunker fuels in 2020 or they have to use some type of scrubbers. I know in ports it is getting more popular to draw power from some of the host ports because they can and do run more efficient and cleaner burning generators to power the ships. I speculate that that has nothing to do with this accident. Thank you Juan, good story and awesome visual aids!
Would have liked to have seen some numbers documenting the popularity and the market penetration of the alternatives. Omitted, for probably good reasons, was small nuclear reactors.
I've really taken away a lot from this man's ''commodity brief'' presentations, especially when it comes to the marine transport business. His discussions on shipping documents have also been very valuable to me, especially because I am a trainee in international trade and was very new to the topic in the beginning. I would definitely enjoy to see more of commodity brief.
Yes n now we saw video of them dumping it in the oceans like chem trails in the ocean n this cloud that is csncerouce n asthma causing n it leaks into the vulcanos there in ring of fire. But bad weather follows the cloud ..n they don't talk about that in their global warming videos ..I saw a clip of it on cirstine w...on you tube like a month ago ..n taught nowonder dolphins are dying n coral wreaths n omg .. Like this 5 g radio frequency flue... They will never tell on themselves or each other... But ..hey..who are we ..I am nobody ..

Same here, but in Houston.

I am sure the kites will work good during a storm.
And they said they went from sails to coal because it was inefficient
why would going back to sails WORK TODAY.

Thank you.
I came here looking for a concise explanation of shipping fuels and their emissions. I’ve left satisfied. 🙏🏼
You forgot about paddle power.
Bunker fuels, disrupting weather patterns for decades.
Good video btw.

Get out of here you charlatan. You are about as useful as an old maid.
Ok so basically you could've said lets get back to sailing because using air or kits is sailing ⛵ hello
The future of ships and shipping is small modular nuclear reactors!
