My grandma's Frigidaire came with the model home she bought in 1959. It was a beautiful aqua inside and out, with copper color metal revolving shelves inside. What a beauty! It was still running quietly and dependably in her kitchen in the early 2000's when she passed. Almost always, older is better.
Oh my gosh! Then Lennon Sisters Cut-Out Dolls right when your knee cracked. I loved their music when I was a kid. I saw them in concert when I was a little kid at the Orange County Fair in California. I sat right up front and sang right along with them.
I Loved the Jean Nate Lamp !❤️. So unique, especially displayed next to the Hat with the Black Veil. I have fond memories of that perfume, as it was my Grandma's favorite. She always smelled So Nice. Love you Grandma💖
Scott, this is the trip hubby and I are taking the first two weeks of July. We have rented a house in Wernersville and taking day trips all around that area. Every shop you were in is on our list. So happy to see them in this video! Because of YOU we are going to Philly several days and visiting the Dream Garden, Wanamaker Organ and touring the Italian area on Ninth Street. Also plan on the Pier fleas on Cherry and Race Streets, WPM and Philly Typewriter shops. We love old churches and contacted St. Paul and St. Mary Magdalen. They are closed except for Masses, but the priest answered us personally and offered a private tour! Wow, sure is the city of Brotherly Love! Nina in Michigan
This shopping adventure was a bit different from your usual territory. Nice things. Hope there’s still plenty of people around to appreciate and collect these treasures. Keep us updated on that refrigerator.
I went refrigerator shopping with my mom. Probably 15 years ago. The salesman told my mom if her fridge still worked- keep it. The newer fridges had smaller compressors and didn’t last as long
That refrigerator is perfect for you. I see you coming inside on a hot summer day after doing yard work and grabbing that cool handle to get a cold drink. Inside you find a 20's glass pitcher full of lemonade. Maybe have a couple lever handled ice cube trays in the freezer compartment.
Well I sure hope you got that refrigerator Scott. That’s so handsome. And if there’s anything that needs to be worked on you’re just the man to fix it. Love it. And I’m glad you got that green wicker stand for the bird seed. Glad to hear you are enjoying the birds. This was a very exciting thrift along. Thank you for the ride ❤️🇺🇸👍🏼
So many awesome finds and I love the idea that someone restored an antique refrigerator and found it was as efficient as their modern refrigerator!!!! Thanks for taking us along.
What a gorgeous fridge. I hope u took the plunge and bought it. It will go prefect in your kitchen.I am 72 and saw so many things that brought back memories. The tin dollhouse. I had one exactly like it. The doll I had one similar. The stripped vintage glasses and pitcher. My granny had that set and I drank many a glass of milk out of one. The refrigerator sets my mom had and many leftovers were put in them and the list goes on. Wonderful memories.god bless.
Hi Scott another awesome day thrifting loved everything you showed I also like how you teach the difference In wood very interesting also I say buy the fridge it looks to be in good condition always injoy watching take care
Oh i hope that fridge was all good to go. That thing will outlast any fridge made in the last 20years. They're designed to last 10 years and that's it. The old fridges will still be working for the next 100 years and it looks AMAZING 🤩
Thank you for highlighting my comment, and all your kindness to me. I appreciate your understanding of old items that are very interesting to so many of us.🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞💚🌻🦋🐞
Vinny would have loved those trays with the ladies. You guys covered a lot of territory for sure & found some interesting stuff. I really like the kitchen shop in Adamstown/Denver.
Oh my goodness, that refrigerator would be perfect for your kitchen, I sure hope it works out, like you said you can always keep the other fridge as well.
That jean nate lamp was fierce! My grandmother bathed in that stank...love how you show restraint. The euphoria walking into a treasure trove can be overwhelming ...i always want to buy everything i fancy lol. That kitchen store is to die for.
I enjoyed walking around with you at that last antique store best, it was pretty much a warehouse...I would love to explore that place myself one day! ❤❤❤ and I have a crush on that refrigerator, I hope you took it home👍
Those Coca Cola trays at 7:30 -- Vinnie would've been all over those! And the assortment of vintage glass starting at around 11:10 or so was absolutely jaw-dropping!
Top video, Scott and Patrick. Thank you both. Really great place to visit, you could spend all day snooping around in there. Top items that were also in top condition to buy. Look forward to the next installment from you both 👏👍😉
A lady I met in an antique store told me she didn’t like the furniture made of the wood with the stretch marks! I’ll never look at tiger oak again without thinking that 😂 !
I love old toys under the tree. I’m collecting mid century toys to go under mine. Oh my. That vintage kitchen store 😮😍 I could get in a lot of trouble in there. I need to visit PA. Lots of good food and antiques. My grandparents have a flip clock from the 70s and I love it. I’d love to have a mid century fridge for my mid century home. I hope you’re able to get that fridge. Hope you had a relaxing day!!
I immediately started saying out loud, "Witch! Witch!" when you picked up that Modern Trends magazine. I would have picked that up so fast! Patrick must've heard me, lol. I couldn't make out the price. I love the cracked baby with the long legs.
Thank you for sharing your shopping trip. I am so excited if you found your refrigerator. I have a question what is it about carnival glass and the East coast? I have never seen any carnival glass on the weather coast in any Goodwill maybe in an antique store no way. Why is that do you know? Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
So true about the old -vs- new refrigerators - agree w/everything you said. The "modern" ones sometimes dont even last 8 yrs these days. Theyre built to fail, total garbage compared to the old ones that were made to last a lifetime.
Wow, will that $2000 set get sold??? Who has that kind of money? I should add that there is a very exclusive antique shop in Solvang that only sells items with big price tags!---I love going slow in places like that...hours of delight!---Wow on the fridge...fingers crossed for you the buyer, and the seller!
You sold a coffee pot very similar to the one on the photo to a friend of mine, and he gifted it to me. My husband and I have our morning coffee in that pot every morning. Yes we're using the original filters. We haven't fond a replacement for them yet.
Yeah! You went to Tommy's store. They used to have all that in a warehouse as well as some booths. They just opened the store 2 or 3 years ago I think it was. I'll make it there someday, isn't it fabulous? 🦋
Could you also show how to tell a chestnut wood piece of furniture? They pop up time from time here in NC at auction but I don't want to just take an auctioneers word on it, I want to be able to tell own my own. Since American Chestnut is nearly extinct I would enjoy a small piece of antique furniture made from it.
Another great point about that vintage fridge is the door latch. You can put unruly kids in there and let 'em chill. Just kidding, honestly, just kidding. I don't think I would actually do that. Probably.
Congratulations on finding that refrigerator…really neat. I like it a lot but would you have to defrost it? Always hated the mess of defrosting. Hope to personally visit some of those places in the fall.
Those big prams were built to take the baby, all it’s diapers and accoutrements…and all the shopping the Mother did along the way. It all got placed around the baby to keep it in place lol.🖤🇨🇦
I hope it works out and that becomes your fridge. I'm on my second fridge in three years and the condenser is going out in this one. Nothing is made to last now. At least I won't have to wait three months to get another this time because I plan to buy a older used one when this one bites the dust. Did not enjoy using coolers for a fridge for three months. Not fun at all.
The old doll looks German. My best friend gave one to me that was identical to that one. It was her mother’s who was from Germany also. Unfortunately my parents stored it in their hot attic many years ago, and it melted. Kathy A.
A lot of Hoosier cabinets were factory painted in the 30's and 40's. I have one that is stamped "black and white" on the back. I can always tell when someone strips one that was originally white, the paint never comes off well and they didn't use all oak like the wooden oak ones.
Absolutely. My cabinet is entirely made of oak and dates to the very early 1930s. It also features a green tint, which was somewhat common on kitchen furniture in those days. The green dye was rubbed on to the oak, and then removed, and then the shellac applied on top. It gives the Oak a slight greenish tint, which is pleasant and original.
I really really *dislike* my new refrigerator that my landlord gave me. The handle has broken off. It's too small and if I drop something the cheap material that's it made out of cracks. The back of the fridge freezers everything. It's a piece of garbage, but it's NEW!!!! SOO I hope that the refrigerator works out for you. Idk if you purchased it or not. I'll take an older model anyday over the crap companies make today.
That green vase was a McCoy. Yes, l have suuurrlacked a few things in my life. A Hoosier is something l have always wanted. You have done a fine job Scott. The frig is fine.❤❤❤❤😂😂❤❤❤❤😅😅❤❤❤❤😅😅❤❤❤❤😊😊❤❤❤❤😊😊❤❤❤❤😂😂❤❤❤❤😂😂❤❤❤❤😂😂❤❤❤❤😮😮❤❤❤

I love the fridge! Boy, this takes me back to my youth.
Love love the green glasses and pitcher
I love finding Fire King dishes to add to my collection! I would go crazy over all the glassware!!
Oh my gosh! Then Lennon Sisters Cut-Out Dolls right when your knee cracked. I loved their music when I was a kid. I saw them in concert when I was a little kid at the Orange County Fair in California. I sat right up front and sang right along with them.
Great episode 👍

It was my mom’s favorite.
Omg that kitchen shop in Adamstown was awsome!
Scott! The fridge!
Oh my Heavens!!! A Jean Nate lamp 😂😂😂
I use Jean Nate every night after my shower- especially refreshing in hot weather and smells divine.
@@andersdottir1111 I wonder if they still make the after shower dusting powder ?
I remember that product.
I used Jean as a young girl. I thought it was fancy. Great memory 😊

I was walking around with you with my mouth open - the Pyrex ! 😍
😅Nitty Gritty music! Love your Adventures🎉😊❤
The five arm lamp was used to process a perm.Had them in the 1970's.Though that looked earlier.
I went refrigerator shopping with my mom. Probably 15 years ago. The salesman told my mom if her fridge still worked- keep it. The newer fridges had smaller compressors and didn’t last as long

Hi Scott I have that old fridge in that colour! In excellent condition with all its innards! But I simply use it unplugged as a pantry.
My grandparents had an old fridge that had a silver handle on the front that dispensed milk. I sure wish we still had that in the family now.
In Illinois we made Milk Weed birds from the pods. I was proud of mine 😁
So many awesome finds and I love the idea that someone restored an antique refrigerator and found it was as efficient as their modern refrigerator!!!! Thanks for taking us along.
I love the fridge. I'd take it in a heardbeat. It was in such amazing condition!
👀👀👀👀 WOW THE PRICES!!! Beautiful stuff though. Maybe the lamp had chandelier crystals that fit in those holders
That's my grandmother's refrigerator. She always called it the frigidaire.
Now this is the kind of shop I love! Overstuffed! Pricey though😢
This is fabulous!!! Thank you Scott and Patrick!

The green glass items are fantastic! All of it! And the green basket too. Did you buy it? 💚💚💚. Yes you did!! I saw the lid in your car. 😁👍💚
I agree 100% with the subscribers comments about the old vs new frig. Snap it up Scott, you have a great plan.
Top video, Scott and Patrick. Thank you both. Really great place to visit, you could spend all day snooping around in there. Top items that were also in top condition to buy. Look forward to the next installment from you both 👏👍😉
Adamstown is on my list for the summer. I've been to Ephrata where Antique Row ends at Mother Tuckers.
Jean Nate was my mother's scent.
Excellent!! Lovely glassware +
Excellent Video Scott !!! Best

Wonderful store/s.
I hope the refrigerator is a go for you. It is fantastic. Please keep us updated on what you find out as I am very curious.

You set your hair under the 5 armed lamp.
Great fridge. I love my V handled Philco. Vintage fridges are the best. Only drawback is defrosting.
Yeah! You went to Tommy's store. They used to have all that in a warehouse as well as some booths. They just opened the store 2 or 3 years ago I think it was. I'll make it there someday, isn't it fabulous? 🦋
Wish I could show you a bubble glass framed picture of a handsome little boy that I got at a thrift store for $4. It's amazing!

Thank you so much Scott my mahogany table I’m thinking it’s probably 80 years old and I bought it for $30
Cha chi on finding the green basket.
🧐🤔 I think that may be a belt driven compressor on that fridge.
Another great point about that vintage fridge is the door latch. You can put unruly kids in there and let 'em chill.
Just kidding, honestly, just kidding. I don't think I would actually do that. Probably.
Did you buy The refrigerator Scott that would look great in your kitchen

I loved Jean Nate, but not as a lamp
Have cousins in Columbia
Almost all of the newer appliances are horrible! They are unreliable and don't last long. Oh, and they cost a fortune!
