    80% on you if you bought this car would never track it. This car is better than the m4 and c63 in every way as a daily driver and it looks better than both. Plus it’s faster when you have some chump pull up next to you at a red light. That is all that matters haha.
    Plus everyone and I mean everyone has an m4 or c63 amg.

    • @supaahflyy
      @supaahflyy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Off the line yeh, but once they are up to 60kph +, then the M4 would reel it in comfortably. It has the same power with 250kg less
      And on a track it would be a no contest.
      But then again that's not what this RS5 is about. It's more a daily driver. The M4 competition destroys your back if you daily it. It's a proper sports car vs a daily driver that happens to be fast off the mark

      Yes, and in the quarter mile, the RS5 already beats both, but after that the C63S kills. For people who want more HP, there is an RS7, and if they want more, there is R8. They just gotta learn the RS line and decide what kind of power they are looking for, then they will understand how to select the right car.

      asif naseri audi saw that bmw and mercedes are performances cars and they made a gt for those who wants a daily car in the same money and in the same segment. It has a smaller engine (2.9 vs 3.0/4.0) is more comfortable (standard massage seats - in the bmw m4 or in the c63s isn t available as an option). Surely AUDI must have deep insight into their target buyers for this car, else they would have made it angrier, but they did not. Not a big fan of the new Coupe for looks - I simply find the older version more elegant and this a bit more loud for the exterior and more subtle for the experience - That is a slightly awkward combination. The old profile has a longer expression but with this they pushed the mid box section forward, leaving less hood and making it appear more compact and somehow it also look taller, which might not be the case. I am sure this has been done to satisfy more practicality and properly because of a new platform underneath. A very fast GT - but it is far from the mad proposition that has been the case with other RS models - perhaps the target group now have gotten kids? idk.
    A Beautiful Video never the less.

    They tried to change the typical Audi lines atop the headlights and i think it didn't work.
    Audi concept's lines have always been low sitting, sharp, nimble... They rounded up the lines in the headlights and the car seem to have lost 90% of it's characteristics.
    They should have made it a really slim line with the LED projectors inside aligned side by side... it's not Audi enough to me but it's just me. I wont judge people who like it. It's a fine car as hell!

    I think that there is much more potential in this engine. Audi lifted the 2.9 from the Panamera S/4S/E (also found on the new Cayenne) improving the horsepower only by 10 HP.
    I think they will be a RS5plus or a RS5 Competition with around 500 HP and 700 Nm. I did not understand however, why they didn’t sell the car in such a configuration right from the start.
    And btw. the ZF 8HP is a brilliant gearbox (also found in the RS6/7 models and the new AWD M5). No one would ever doubt the performance of those cars.
    And for tuners this gearbox is a brilliant base for improving the engine output because it can easily take up to 1.000 Nm (1.100 in some Bentley Continentals).

      Porsche and Audi are both part of VAG (Volkswagen) so let’s just say it’s a in house V6 engine.
      Would you say the B5 Generation of RS4s had character? Because that was a twin turbo V6. The V8 powered RS4 where great sounding characterful engines, I’m just saying that the tt V6 has great potential. Which the V8 N/A models of the RS4 frankly never had.

    • @future62
      @future62 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      B5 RS4s did have character and were pretty wild for the time. That R8 V8 obviously had character. These modern turbo engines, with their diesel clatter, tiny turbos and economy based cam timing do not. This is a 100% regression. RS Audis have always been about insane engines, like the TT V10 RS6. RS's/AMG's/M's are at the same level, auto journalists want you to think differently though, the truth is that it'll be used in comfort mode 95% of the time and it'll never see a track. It's a matter of what badge do you want really, they are very similar (A5, C-Class coupe, 4-Series).

    In my humble opinion, I wouldn't want to buy something that needs to be cut some slack for. RS5 is undeniably a good car but it doesn't have that zing like the competition. I honestly think they could do better. In fact, I'm rooting for them.

    Audi should have put a tuned up version of the rs3 motor in it. The i5 turbo is glorious. This one is just a bit dull compared to its competitors I'm afriad

      So true. Even though it does 60 sub 4 seconds, it still doesn't make me excited like c63s coup or m4. And for this price range it should trigger at least some feelings in my opinion. I'm a huge Audi fan, but this RS5 sucks..

    I have been wanting to like the RS5 for a while, but it jut doesn't generate the pulse quickening excitement that mention of an TTRS, RS3, RS4, RS6, or RS7 has in the past. Improve the plasticky A4 interior and give it 500 HP and the controls it deserves so it stops looking like a 2dr A4 with badging.

    Guess I wasted my time.
    Now I have my rs5 and 2 years left on my lease on a Hellcat. I'll probably wait until that term is up before flipping my Rs5 and finding something new. Already have 4 cars... Don't need another and don't really have a reason to get rid of my already paid off rs5.

    I like the way it looks. but it doesn't have the riffle shot shifts of the dct. I think I was expecting more from audi. but then again diesel gate took a lot from the vw group. and rightfully just.

    Odd comments re V6 motor.
    Some of the best premium drivers cars available on the market have 6 cylinders including M2, M3 and M4. Have for some time now.
    Not to mention Porsche motors which is obviously where this motor came from.
    And its leaves the old motor for dead for torque and 0-100 times.
    I have owned both (still have current model) and the new motor is a cracker.
    Speed counts if you like fast cars. It has too surely. Old V8 simply wasn’t quick enough even with its personality.
    Odd thinking.🤔
