      I really wish that even general car sales people had this level of knowledge, but I suspect the turnover is huge for those people in a general sales role at Toyota/honda/nissan (a to b transportation) compared to say porsche/audi/bmw/mb/lexus/acura (more sophisticated picky buyers = more sophisticated questions?)

    Great review Roman, well done. I really wanna say thanks from the guy with Audi, what an amazing car. I was really impressed with his knowledge, he's qualified and then some. I really hate the guys who companies put forward who absolutely know nothing or not enough, and you can tell they're back pedaling thru the whole review. He's a real car guy, so much so, for my 3rd driver I'm going with this over a mustang.

  • @speedRacer05
    @speedRacer05 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    One of the best interactions with a rep I've seen. Generally, they seem to read from a script, this guy seemed to know what he was saying. I think the way you delivered questions helped. Also, more actual shots of the car was nice. Sometimes you guys focus (in a literal sense) too much on yourselves.

    this thing is going to be so damn tunable. you guys need to remember audis older biturbo engines like the highly modifiable b5 audi s4. or omg the turbocharged 4.0 in the rs7 was insane. trust me this engine has potential to go super fast and lose warranty.

      My truck is still running and nearly at 300k so obviously not. How does it feel knowing the Tundra is the worst full-size truck you can buy on the market right now?. LMFAO!!!

    • @z71guy18
      @z71guy18 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't believe me look it up yourself. The worst safety rating of all full-size truck's today.

    • @z71guy18
      @z71guy18 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      300k of pure working miles. Believe it or not the Ram is actually beating the Tundra in reliability. All American full-size truck's do. The Tundra is only a poor attempt to try and compete with the major three.

    • @z71guy18
      @z71guy18 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Back in 2016 when IIHS tested the four truck's the Tundra did almost as bad as the Ram did but with 2019 model Ram with all new improvements would definitely leave the Tundra last place in IIHS. Like I was saying the Tundra is only a poor attempt to try and compete with the big three. No one over seas makes truck's better than American's do.

    • @z71guy18
      @z71guy18 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's all the truth. Don't worry I don't get my information from CNN fake terrorist news. American's have been making ultra reliable truck's for over 100 years and and Toyota maybe 45?. Still a poor attempt. Lol

    This is one sweet car, I really do like Audis, but my wallet won't let me truly appreciate them. Thanks for the review as always. I really love both the colors that you drove today especially the Alpha Green which is a rare type color anymore, the matte light grey is beautiful as well.

    • @ryanb8736
      @ryanb8736 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Forrest Earnest It’s called Sonoma Green and the other is called Nardo Grey which is a very popular RS color. It’s also glossy and not Matte. 😀
      You can also order any exclusive color you want too for an additional cost. Nogaro Blue would be my choice. That’s what I did on my RS3.
      There are lots of great Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini colors to choose too.

    • @TheWVgoodguy22
      @TheWVgoodguy22 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh okay thanks for the correction. I absolutely love green and I find that it is a rare color anymore except for the really bright lime greens. Yes Nardo Grey I forgot the name and sadly have never seen in in person just on YT or pics so I didn't know if it was gloss or matte. I love grey on vehicles. I will have to check out the Audi site and do a fun build and check the color selections. Thanks Ryan.

    Sucks it does not come with the RS Interior Package (full alcantara wheel and shifter) and the Carbon Fiber exterior trim like Canada gets.....US always gets screwed....

    • @MasterEggroll
      @MasterEggroll 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mason the 2019 models come with the carbon fiber package now but no carbon roof still and alcantara wheel and shifter. I actually like the sunroof on these though. I wish they put the r8 steering wheel in these or the ttrs wheel. Seems like they made the rs5 more of a gt car though like he said. I have one on order now.

    The car sounds great. I have an 09 S5 with the V8 and this new RS5 sounds pretty much exactly like mine (inside the car). People complaining about the v6. It's a better real world performer than the last gen RS. That one you needed to rev out to get any power. The new RS has more torque in the lower revs which is what you want when driving to work, or to Starbucks. Let's face it, that's what most audi owners do anyway 😂

    As good as these autos have become I’m still surprised an RS doesn’t have a double clutch gearbox.

  • @shyg.3566
    @shyg.3566 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should've asked why they don't use the S-tronic in this car and use single clutch 8 speed automatic. Even though the R8 still uses a S-tronic DCT transmission. Unless somebody else can explain this to me.

    • @ryanb8736
      @ryanb8736 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RS3 uses the DCT too. I would have never bought it if it had the 8 speed with torque converter.

    • @richardremi
      @richardremi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's because VW and Audi's twin clutches are rated at a maximum torque of 400lb-ft. Yes the R8 has a special transmission but to save costs , they just slapped an auto in the rs5 and even the rs7. Funny thing is that in real life there are Golf R's and RS3's pushing well over 400lb-ft of torque and haven't blown up YET.

  • @charlieone604

    And why would anyone want to buy tires made specifically for a single car? They'll be extremely hard to come by and even more expensive!!

    • @venom5809
      @venom5809 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty sure Corvette and Viper tires are specific to those cars and let's not forget the Veyron and Chiron.

    • @charlieone604
      @charlieone604 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Audi RS5 is not a Bugatti by a long shot, i don't know anything about viper and corvette tires but i'm just saying, vehicle specific tires isn't a selling point!

    • @munmun2769
      @munmun2769 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Several possibilities, right?
      --They don't care about tires and buy what's recommended.
      --They have no knowledge of tire performance from personal experience.
      --They prefer to be contrary to your opinions at any cost.

    • @stevornrichards1380
      @stevornrichards1380 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wes R i know, that numbers thing is a subliminal thing. As if owners going race their cars all the time. But if it's for the American market, Americans don't like driving manuals, a matter of fact. Most Americans don't know how to drive manuals their driving schools don't have those cars anymore...talking about the younger generation

    • @wesrr4036
      @wesrr4036 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stevorn Richards Agreed. Thankfully my Mustang GT is manual and some companies are willing to still build them. Society as a whole is very willing to let technology do everything for them. Not all bad but can be a slippery slope.

      Are you trolling or just uninformed? Audi's own website shows both at the same speed at 3.9s going 0 to 60, which is underrated. This video's Audi "expert" mentioned the RS5 going 0-60 in 3.7s. He also mentioned the same speed for the RS3 in another video. There are videos showing it hit under 3.7s. They are videos showing the RS3 going faster than the RS5 . Car and Driver shows the RS5 hitting 3.9s and the RS3 hitting 3.5s. Do your research man.

      FORZA ALFA BABY....No AUDI (VW) can be as elusive and handle as well as an ALFA because with the current chassis (FWD BIAS), there's too much weight in front of the front axle.....it's the same reason that PORSCHE's are dangerous but in reverse....at least with this monstrosity when you spin out, you've got the engine in front of you to cushion the blow.....FORZA ALFA BABY

    I call Bullshit on the tires. If I put the same tire on without the "AO" tag, it will perform the same way.
    Just another way dealers force you to pay more for their crap to keep your warranty. Just like BMW oil.

    • @Gold63Beast
      @Gold63Beast 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mickey Pykering they do it to charge more PER tire because it has a AO on it. Smh, what a way to stick it to the owners.

    • @venom5809
      @venom5809 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm not so sure about that. My buddy is an engineering professor and his father was a high up auto exec when we has this conversation and he said that the tires that come with the car when you buy it are specific to the car and have undergone a lot of testing and whatnot. He said the best tires you will get are the ones that come with the car when you get it new, the replacements after that won't be quite the same.

    • @mr.fuscles
      @mr.fuscles 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      venom5809 Then show me one test that proves it. I can buy a better sport tire for cheaper in the end and have a better track day. Super cars on the other hand, most definitely. Anything built to do 200mph or more has to have the best possible suited tire.

    • @07wrxtr1
      @07wrxtr1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's probably true on higher end cars ($70k+). I can tell you that on my 2014 370z ($33k new), the stock bridgestones that came with it for that year were complete garbage in every single category. Pilot super sports completely transformed the car, it's just a nissan afterall, so it's purely a cost cutting move. Most people on the forums had the same results, with the originals lasting anywhere from 8-15k miles (I got rid of mine around 8k miles). Basically any car I'd buy going forward, it's getting Pilot SS or Sport Cup 2's or even those new continentals. Now the real question: RS5 or TTRS?

      Nope.

    • @Boondocksaint1PSN
      @Boondocksaint1PSN 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No more manual transmissions available except in the A4 & A5. No benefit from a manual other than driver enjoyment. They are slower, less efficient and not as reliable anymore. But I do wish they would have given the option at least for those that do love a manual.

    • @stevornrichards1380
      @stevornrichards1380 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Boondocksaint1PSN manuals are not slower. A driver is just prone to make more mistake in a manual than a auto especially racing from a dig. If it's a rolling start and no driver mod is needed, they're pretty much identical. Manuals get better gas mileage, cheaper from the factory, cheaper to maintain, less costly to fix. Auto these days only advantage is lap times as they say as if all the owners are going to track their cars. There are some really good quick shifting short throw manuals out their. Manuals are also more predictable, autos have too much delay especially when in high gear cruising and you mash trying to pass.

      Stevorn Richards from a dig a dual clutch auto is faster. Get any of the same two cars with different transmissions and you’ll see.
      Also if you want to shift fast with a manual, every fast engagement from the clutch is more wear and tear on the car. Especially with high horsepower and torque.
      Yes I do love standards.

      Stevorn Richards All those used to be true with a manual transmission. However a dual clutch transmission will win everywhere. Porsche PDK is the best one in the world and it does not matter if it’s a roll on or from a dig. But as we evolve so has the auto industry and manuals have all but become dinosaurs.

    This car is not faster than the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.....The Alfa is the fastest car in this segment around "THE RING"....

      Hammad how? It’s faster to 0 to 60 than the m4 comp package and c63s which are more expensive. Plus the interior is far superior than the m4 and pretty much in line with the new c63s coming out.

    Won't own the green (who am I kidding, I can't afford a new A5, let alone an RS5). That said, it's attractive but just not me. Nardo though, that works, but my favorite 5-line color has to be Mag Gray, shows off the lines, easier to keep up than black.

    What’s up with that metal sheet that’s covering the engine? Never seen that before. It looks like someone did a shit job of wrapping the engine in foil.

    THIS CAR HAS WAAAAYYYYY TOOOOO MUCH WEIGHT AHEAD OF THE FRONT AXLE....THE ALFA SMOKES THIS CAR...Especially when it comes to TOP SPEED......Don't drink the GERMAN KOOL AID......

    • @07wrxtr1
      @07wrxtr1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe so, but we're continually stuck behind subaru/prius drivers here, so really, I'd take a slower/more comfortable vehicle. ANd I agree, the whole weight / understeer issue is a big one. I think only the TTRS has actually solved that within the audi lineup, unless you can go to the R8, which for that money I'd still just get a Porsche product.

    • @stevornrichards1380

      I guess quicker have to do with how agile it is and it's get up speed while faster just means the total top speed. When i use to run track, guys would be quicker out the starting blocks till about 50 meters until i get up to speed cause of my longer legs and I'll pass them. Faster have to do with trap speed and quicker is acceleration
