I love how, technicaly, infinity war is the greatest “Rapture” film of all time.
Because Thanos made half of all life “disappear”
This movie would have benefited tremendously from cutting out the first hour. The rapture is already such a mysterious event, so don't give away the mystery by showing who these people are before the event. In the opening credits show people getting on a plane, maybe have a line or two of dialogue, and then *BOOM* rapture. The audience finds out who these characters are (and were) while the characters themselves are trying to figure out what's going on.
If you already know all the Christians going into the rapture part of the movie then you give away 1) all the people who are getting left behind and 2) the reason for them getting left behind. You essentially create a movie where the characters are trying to catch up to what the audience knows within the first 20 minutes, and that's a terrible movie-going experience.
Seems like you could've written a better movie. I think that sometimes jarring the audience right away can put them and our characters in the same mindset

Ok, American Christianity, I thought we learned being arrogant and sassy towards others, and randomly quoting Scripture to beat down others, doesn't convert a lot of people nowadays. At least, not in America. It's called the "diplomatic approach".

I'm an atheist. Yet I really enjoyed the first Left Behind. It works really well as solid B movie. I saw the first half hour of this and couldn't make it through. Most Christian movies tend to forget that story should always come first in well telling a good story. There's nothing wrong in inserting the theme of 'worship Christ' and all that but you need good characters and a well paced story.

+Naomi Storm I'm a Christian and I agree with you guys. I'm not a fan of this one and I barely remember the original. When it comes to religious films, I prefer The Ten Commandments and The Prince of Egypt. They spread our message without being preachy about it.

I mean, the Catholic idea of "original sin" is Adam's sin, which needs to be washed away with baptism. Other Christian denominations think Jesus's blood solved the whole original sin deal with the crucifixion alone. But 40 years of wandering in the desert was because of the golden calf worship; that's a definite example of kids paying for their parents's misstep. (To, ahem, say nothing of the genocides committed by Israelites when God was like "These people don't believe in me. Feel free to kill them all.") This movie was shot where I live and I remember that whenever the school bus scene was being done, everyone around here was freaking out because they thought a real school bus was hanging off the side of a bridge.
It's also just weird to see your local roads and mall in a movie...

Oh! For your next movie reviews, I recommend "Courageous" and "Prince of Egypt". ("Prince of Egypt" wasn't made by a "Christian" film company, but I think it did a far better job portraying both the Bible and God than most Christian movies do).

The real problem with these movies is that the Rapture makes no Biblical since to anyone who has really dove deep into Biblical study with any honesty. And when I say deep, I mean DEEP, read Church Fathers research the history and culture of the arias different parts of Scripture was written in and what the Author's themselves meant when they wrote the texts. For example, the word "Rapture" refers to an old Tradition when a Hero is spotted returning home. The town's people who were able would run out to the hero and follow him back cheering, The writer was describing Christ's followers doing the same, to illustrate for the reader that Christ is a grand hero of the world. The scripture about one being taken and the other left behind, when the whole book is read in it's integrity it is made clear that the one taken is destroyed and the one left behind is spared. The "Christian" is the one left behind. Lastly, why would God spare Christians from suffering? There are plenty of Christians suffering RIGHT now! Why are they NOT being spared? You wanna know WHY? Jesus DIED on a CROSS and was INNOCENT! Everyone of US is GUILTY! What makes us think we're escaping PAIN!? The Rapture is only believed in the pampered first world! Go to the 3rd world, NO ONE buys into this "Rapture" stuff. Christianity is all about suffering, sacrifice, and self denial. If your Christian life is easy, your doing it wrong!

Since I'm LCMS lutheran, I was never taught the rapture (in the 'Christians will be taken first, then a thousand years will pass before the second coming' sense). So when I found out about the books, I asked my dad (a pastor) if I should read them. He said "If you want to read an interesting story about what the world would be like if what the books are describing happens, yes. If you want to know about what people who believe in the rapture believe about the rapture, no."

I watched this movie a few months ago. When I saw the cover I felt like it would fall way short of the first Left Behind. It did. It was so dull that I kept wanting to stop watching, but I held out to the end. I did, however, enjoy the first left behind series. In a third of the time it takes to watch Left Behind 2014, your review was at least five times more entertaining. This review is hilarious and on point. Thanks for the laughs! :)

my sister and I watched this movie just so we could make fun of it, but it was so bad that we ended up yelling at the screen. when it reached that part at the end with the emergency landing and Chloe blowing things up, we were laughing so hard. this movie is sooooo bad...

HI! I just recently found your youtube channel...I've watched almost everything and look forward to you making more! When I see your videos, I am like, "Finally! Someone who gets it! And someone who gets the same awkward feelings I get when I see a Christian movie!" So, I had a thought of a video you could make if you wanted to. You've done two Left Behinds, however, there are several other Left Behind Movies going all the way back into the 70s! I know you might not want to do a whole movie commentary on the ones from the 70s because most people haven't seen those, but, what would be cool would be a commentary on the Left Behinds from all times! Maybe comparing and contrasting the similarities and differences between them, and what they all have in common, and of course how ridiculous they are!

Ok, so in Christanity. There is something called "the age of accountablilty" now, there are debates on what that this age is, but it's typically considered somewhere between 10 and 13. If you die before you reach that age, you automatically go to heaven because you are too young to be judged. That is why children and babies are taken by the rapture.
Left behind Kids is about children just over the age of accountablity. I think in the left behind books, the age was like 11 or 12, so the books were about teenagers that were still technically kids, but just over a age of acountabilty.
I think that it was called "Vanished." Kevin did a review on its adaption as well.
