    3D Printing Canada, You are a LIFE SAVER. For the longest time i was looking for the firmware on BIQU B1's Github and all I could find is the already compiled firmware in the motherboard folders. This saved my 3d printer!

    If you change the screen to marlin mode first, then insert the microSD card (and reset the printer) you'll be able to see the firmware update progress onscreen.

    First, thanks for the very detailed and informational video. I recently purchased a B1 and it's great to see there's a community behind it already. What are the exactly part names or numbers you swapped out in this video? Links would be rad. I'm already worried about issues with the heatbreak and the internal PTFE tube.

    Didn't see this earlier. I did this mod with a clone volcano and it's been working really well. BLtouch and smart sensor were a bit of a chore but it's all working well now and I get about 6 days of printing before there's an issue. I am printing ABS the last few days and had a couple of failures from warping but it's been cool here. I haven't tried nylon yet I'd love to see a sample part

      I'm eventually hoping to start printing nylon with mine, but I want to upgrade the extruder & hot end once more before that happens.

  • @Disco_Stu956

    I'm looking at potentially getting one of these Biqu B1 printers as my first printer, and hoping to eventually be able to run higher temperature. Can someone tell me if I'm on the right track with how this would be achieved:
    -do the hardware mods shown in this video
    -replace the heater with something that goes hotter
    -change/update firmware to allow higher temperature to be selected
    Is that all correct? New to 3d printers and in no way familiar with modifying firmware and that sort of thing. Want to choose a printer that I can eventually modify/upgrade to do some of the things I can see myself needing in the future

      @@Harel-DIY yeah, it works fine. The all metal hot end gave me some trouble for some brands of PLA due to heat creep, at first, but I've changed the design of the mount and now everything works perfectly. The hot end comes with a different thermistor, so I had to change the firmware.

    Hi, I tried to flash the firmware of my B1, because I installed a BL Touch and this was not supported from the installed firmware. Unfortunately the printer gives this message out: "System loading, please wait" and nothing happens. Do you habe any idea how I can fix it? I wrote a request to Biqu, but they never answered. I have a Bigtreetech SKR 2 as mainboard and a BTT B1 TFT35 v3.0. Thank you in advance.

  • @exploitz86
    @exploitz86 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Never EVER do any work on the hotend while the printer is turned on! Even tightening the nozzle! You can easily short the thermistor that is going to kill the motherboard. The SKR 1.4 in the BiquB1 doesn't have any protection against short on the thermistor.
