    She was having her troubles there Scott. First two furrows worked good. Ground harder after that. ? Rocks there too. Maybe. Hehe. Good time to change the oil after that work out. Does look great.

      Thanks Noel, I guess the ground got harder I don't really remember LOL that 12" plow is a real workout for the 444 though. I used it on the 7020 this year, that has no trouble with it.

    Add some weight to the front will help you a lot!

    Nice, I checked it again, like it Mac

    Your plow has a depth wheel. Consider using it.

      It was setup to work as I wanted it to. No changes needed other than a little stronger tractor.

    What are you going to grow? I have green beans, peas, onions and carrots in my 3' by 8' planter box and a few small ones on the deck for lettuce, arugula, peppers and mint 🍹

      Mostly sweet corn, but I’ll plant some peas and beans as well, carrots, see what I have room for.

    Give it h***!! Is that low gear on that thing?

    • @macsworkshop9366
      @macsworkshop9366  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah that’s low although since it’s hydraulic drive you can slow it down more. I just find it flips the sod better if you go a bit faster

    Hydrostatic?

    • @macsworkshop9366
      @macsworkshop9366  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No these were a hydraulic drive, little different setup than the hydrostatics.

    Pretty neat. Looks like some soft dirt. Worst thing about those tractors are those archaic, obnoxious single cyl engines.

      Was pretty hard going but it's not like the ground hadn't been worked before. The Kolher isn't bad, suits the tractor I guess. Nice v twin efi Honda would be a nice engine in one but worth more than the tractor.

      Ooooh! Don't say that. I would gladly put a twin on that if it were mine.@@macsworkshop9366

    You have to put some front weights on that tdoctor when you have the plow on the back and you should always use low range when plowing

    • @macsworkshop9366
      @macsworkshop9366  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Doesn't need weight on the front and that is low range

    • @meandthemrs7403

      @@macsworkshop9366 I thought it was doing fairly well with no weight at all. But 200 lbs. of wheel weight and 50 lbs. on the front help considerably. Especially on the left rear. My Ingersoll does really well with a 12 inch plow and combine weights on the back with turf tires. I think low range is a tad fast for a 12 inch plow on the Case/Ingersoll tractors. But don't know a solution. I think I could hear your bypass squealing intermittently. Mine does the same. It is fun under the right conditions. Rocks will stop anything.

      Yeah fairly hard ground it did well I figured. The engines a bit tired in the old 444 so I try to avoid working it too hard these days. I have a 7020 Ingersoll that pulls the 12" plough a lot easier.

    Why is he only plowing one way he should have made a right and went back beside where he have plowed.

      I don't want a dead furrow

    • @meandthemrs7403
      @meandthemrs7403 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It leaves a "ditch" or "dead furrow" in the middle of the garden.

      lol I think I edited it out but when I stalled it I thought it was done for. Slowed right down and sounded like an old 2cyl Kubota diesel 😬

    Why rev the thing up so much when you are just going back to start plowing another row...you are not supposed to rev a machine when its not doing a tasking job

    • @macsworkshop9366
      @macsworkshop9366  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Won’t hurt it, not sure who told you you can’t rev an engine unless it’s under significant load, makes zero sense.

      Agreed! Gets more oil anyway.@@macsworkshop9366
