    They reproduced the piano perfectly. I wouldn't have guessed these were horns by listening.

    There is a lot of good hifi today but when horns are done right nothing sounds closer to a live performance. As it is hard to evaluate audio over the internet, this system would be on my must listen to list. Absolutely nothing will run me out of a room faster then thin & bright & maybe because I.m listening through my Meze Empyrean's which are anything but bright this system sounds pretty impressive. Thanks very much Terry, great catch!

    Those loudspeakers are work of art, the choice of wood species for the cabinet and the horns is sheer beauty. Thought the piano sound was very good
    Slight typo in the album title Tamamoto instead of Yamamoto, but even spelled correctly I couldn’t find it on Tidal unfortunately.

    It’s interesting comparing these with the Naim/Focal video from this show. Here everything is in its rightful place without any bass overhang, PA scaling etc. I’m guessing these are likely in the same price range? I could happily live with them. The piano tone sounded like a fine Steinway in the room.

    Apparently an Audiophile at the show saw the cables lying on the floor and passed out. They found him days later wandering the streets mumbling something about audiophonics. Sad.

    In as far as i feel that i can tell on this video,the piano comes across with good ''attack'' .I'd say similarly about my impression of the percussion too.I'm sure that it's a nice system,but very frequently at shows,some of the finest recordings find their way around,and i've little reason to doubt that that has happened here.It would be quite nice to hear some real world recordings too,and get some level of feel for the system's/speakers vocal presentation.

    That is very strange... always when I hear recordings of audio systems, they sound just that, recordings of audio systems playing back audio... this on the other hand sounded like a camera recording a live band! Ok, I know it's a camera recording (even one with good mics attached), it's a show and my system is in the way, but I've seen many live shows, played some myself, heard countless recording of them, this did sound like recording a live band! (Well, maybe the cymbals were a bit recessed compared to the live scenarion). Amazing, too bad it's out of my reach! Are these Canor amps?

    It always baffles me how uneducated HiFi enthusiasts are in regards to how audio works. In a nutshell, you simply cannot judge how good a speaker sounds from a TH-cam video. There are just too many factors at play that will colour the sound. The room reflections, microphone, audio compression and your speakers are essentially what you're hearing. There is just way too many factors at play that will colour the sound you're hearing and videos like this really don't make sense. The only thing you can really get out of this video is how the setup looks like.

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It always baffles me how hifi enthusiasts who listen to recorded audio exclusively for the hobby and judge how good the recording quality is and the mastering quality is by what they are hearing has so many factors away from the original work yet they still make that judgement on every song they listen to
      This is the same no different - if you listened to this system in this room or any room the room affects the sound as much as does where you are sitting in the room as much as where the speakers are in the room and yet you will still judge the sound quality of the system.
      There are always filters at play is my point - a high quality recording such as what I do gives you a very good and accurate rendition of what this system sounded like in this room on this day. Now depending on how good the playback system is that you watch the video on will tell you a close or closer to truth to that recording. This is again what HiFi is in a nut shell.
      HiFi systems just create sound the same as everything else. The sound can be measured and it can be recorded. It's not magic

      LOL no. There are various YT recordings of this very setup at the same show and they reveal characteristics of these speakers. Imo this guy did them more justice than other recordings clarity wise but even crappy phones still reveal the sound character in a particular place. Additionally, many years ago when i heard the first? generation of MBL's i felt their acoustic qualities made the rest of the shows exhibits sound like toys. I've never heard them since but their presentation has been locked in my mind and now with this lovely internet and YT its easy to hear their qualities again thanks to guys like this. The sad thing is that shows persist in playing "avant garde" so nothing has changed in 30 years. This guys rig seems well capable of picking out flaws in a particular room/system and with pair of transparent headphones we get plenty of insight into recording differences. Of course i'd never buy speakers this way but i could make a shortlist given the right room conditions.
      Anyway i aint buying - i'm happy with my old diy Volt drivers.

      You can get a really good sense of the system from a TH-cam video, just in the same way a written review gives you a description of it. Always listen for yourself before buying but this is very useful and frankly fun!

      This is not a showroom its a hifi show so this is what you would experience if you went in to this room at the show yourself. You wouldn't know what speakers are playing and you would want to take a look at all the speakers and products in the room.
