Try blasters and swap the web for a tracking disrupter… You tackle, scram, disrupt, orbit close and most of the time they can’t touch ya unless they’re a missile boat..

One of my good eve friends killed an AT frigate solo in a comet. I've kinda killed an AT cruiser solo. Was a stalemate in the abyss, he offered me 20b to die, I said no. :D
Acolytes are 2nd fastest, 2nd in paper dps, have better range, and tracking. I run Hornets for the EHP in the shield and slightly better speed, tracking, and range at #3 dps. It's hard to keep Tristan drones alive at 20km. The difference is, what, 11 or 7 between all variants? Cost. Availability. I've never said, "Man, if only I had the Gallente drones I would have been better off." It's always, "Why didn't I bring Acolytes/Warriors," when you're getting kited to death. Or wishing you had hornets as you're warping away with no dps left.
You probably would've lived if you had played that hookbill fight better mate. You were just keeping him at range not moving at all with your MWD blooming the hell out of your sig. If you had at least kept moving or shut the MWD off he wouldn't have been applying as well. Sorry if this comes off as condescending or something i'm just trying to help. Cheers.

Yeah Hookbills are my least favourite ship to fight in frigate 1v1's. I tend to lose against them alot. 😀
