I have this exact car, silver, 5 speed manual. Overall I've done the water pump, timing belt, and clutch replacement. Also added a cold air intake. It's a zippy little thing, my daily driver. Cheap and Reliable vehicle through and through. Just as good as any Honda or Toyota I've ever owned.
That is awesome anything that’s well maintained will last longer! You’ve obviously taken very good care of it thank you so much for watching our little show and taking the time to reach out and comment! We really appreciate it a lot! Thank you again more to come
Thanks for the video! Going to have to do this soon, as well as install a “new” transmission and everything associated with that. This video has erased my anxiety a bit about the job. Thanks!
Thank you ! Im so glad it helped lower anxiety i hear you! Ive been workin on cars and bikes all my life and i still get anxiety about everything that can go wrong so i really understand! Thank you for watching and taking time to comment i really needed a pick me up today, that made my day!
And btw if you think i dont make mistakes check out the videos on the 85 evolution gasket replacement i did, i ran my finger thru the starter drive gear and finished the bike after a tripto hospital ! You can see the wristbands on myarm from the emergengcy room in the video!
Thank you! Your comment made me and sarahs day! We really appreciate that and we are working to improve the show and get some better filming and editing equipment. Thank you so much for watching! Every subscriber helps us alot!
Great video, currently doing my water pump but the manual states use lubriplater on the pumps seal, I don't have a store that sells this near to me in fact anywhere in the country, is there an equivalent I can use? What about normal gasket sealant as a substitute?
Thank you so much for watching and for your comment ! We really need and appreciate your support, we are just a small cannel starting out trying to help anyone working on thier own cars and bikes
Just bought an 07 Aveo5 with 84500 miles. I don't think the timing belt has been done. What's the chnge interval on the belt? Is it something i need to do ASAP? Great videos by the way. Makes it easier when you know what to do ahead of time.
Thanks again for the awesome video that helped me tremendously. I found that someone had at some point in time changed the timing belt and only the timing belt. They also didn't alight the exhaust cam correctly, it was off by one tooth. This might explain why the check engine light would come on (p0420) I was about to change the catalytic converter. I might wait and see what happens now that it was done correctly. Again thank you!
Im pretty sure we covered the size in the video, ill have to check that, we try to cover everything as much as we can, sometimes we miss a shot, its alot of editing lol
@@axlsnakedog sorry I mean the one inside the cam cover on the camshaft itself near the journals, manual states to hold it with a wrench possibly 28mm but not sure when tightening the cam sprockets bolts.
The decoupler pulley on Mary's chevy equinox blew apart last week. Had to be towed home. Parts should be here tomorrow. Been taking here two and from work everyday since. 40 minutes one way. Getting to see how truly horrible the mileage is in my BMW
Hello, I like your videos very much and I have a question. I have a Chevy Lacetti with the same 1.6L engine. Water constantly leaks from a hole at the bottom of the water pump, but there is no leak around the edges. is it normal ? This hole is also present in the new piece. Do I need to tighten the bolts on the pump or buy new pump ? thanks, greetings from Turkey
@@axlsnakedog Yes, I researched this hole and decided that it needed to be changed because at about 20km the water in the tank almost ran out and there was a lot of leakage. I'm sorry for taking your valuable time, thank you again.
@@axlsnakedog absolutely. My son just bought his first car and this is the first thing I am doing to it. Do you know if this was the first timing belt service? I think Chevy recommends replacing it every 60 thousand miles. 200kilometers would put at about 125 thousand miles.
Its dry, minus the oil leaking everywhere, lol and theres no such thing as a stupid question unless your wife asks, "does this make me look fat?" ( the answer is no honey! Btw)
@@rigilkentaurus3313 to show folks HOW to remove and reinstall them. Thank you for your comment and thank yoy for watching we really appreciate it alot
@@axlsnakedog Ok but it seems a little dangerous, I mean you can break bolts, gears and pulleys doing this, and it's unnecessary to do the job on the video description. Some clarification would be nice. Anyways, great job. I bought one of this cars with 100k km on it 4 years ago, and never disappointed me once.

Use petroleum jelly to lube the seal during installation to prevent tearing the seal

When it starts coming out of that weep hole it means the internal seal is gone
