My number one shall always be Humuhumunukunukuapua'a because despite my love for high school musical 2, I hadn't heard this song until recently, as Disney channel never played the extended cut on TV. So on my birthday I decided to binge watch the whole HSM trilogy with some friends who also hadn't heard this song. And lemme tell ya, there is nothing funnier in this world then a room of teenagers stoned out of their minds watching a film they thought they knew pretty well, but then watching the main character getting kidnapped into a cave where he is then serenaded with a song about a pineapple princess who wants to fuck a fish
i experienced the opposite where i had only ever seen the humuhumu version as a kid and when i went to watch it when i was older the scene was just GONE and i thought must have been a fever dream until i watched the extended edition again

I went to my friends prom as their date, and for like 90% of the evening the DJ was playing dubstep and no one was dancing. We all got drunk on the balcony and then the final song the DJ played was the masterpiece you put at number 1. It was a battleground of love, moshing and screaming the lyrics. All 500 or people knew every word and screamed it. After wandering in the dubstep desert, we finally found the oasis that invented music. Best day of my life.

Scream is by far the most underrated song of the franchise, and I can’t thank you enough for recognizing that.
You have ranked many of these songs well and Gotta Go My Own way truly is the best song in high school musical, if not the world. However i personally believe humuhumunukunukuapua'a deserves Everydays's spot on this list.
No one is saying that Everyday is not a magnificent piece of art, but compared to the sheer creativity and the amazing story we are told through humuhumunukunukuapua'a, Everyday truly does not deserve its higher ranking. Furthermore, even the choice of humuhumunukunukuapua'a for the songs name is unique and I can only hope to reach such levels of creativity in my lifetime.

Haven't watched yet but the best song is "Gotta Go My Own Way". Like, Gabriela singing about why she's leaving is fine, but holy shit that bridge part. Not even a meme, when Troy runs after her and the electric guitar kicks in, just as he makes his desperate plead with her to stay, it's so perfect. Troy just begging her to stay, just to tell him what to do because he legitimately doesn't know anymore, but she can't tell him so she has to leave.

Finally someone who appreciates the sheer brilliance of “I gotta go my own way”. This song is a fucking masterpiece, the lyrics, the message, it’s so important. No matter how much you love someone you have to put yourself first. HSM 2 did that before it became “trendy”, clearly a movie ahead of its time. You just gained a subscriber nick.

I became a huge fan of this series at the age of 2. I obsessed over it until I was 9. I still love it with all my heart. I think also cured one of the worst diseases that I have personally delt with, the cold.
I was lost before i watched hsm2, after witnessing such a masterpiece i realized my true place in the world. I finally found who i really was deep inside, and why we, as humanity, are here in this planet.
It's to buy multiple blu ray copies of hsm2
