    Your vids are great! There not at all self involved, “just lovin to hear yourself talk or be on screen”. You can tell you’re really trying to share the knowledge and tricks in which you’ve learned or discovered, over what I’m sure has been a journey of many years of plug-in away at this. I’m glad you’ve decided to share what you’ve learned with us cause I’ve probably learned the most from your videos. Your videos are never terribly long they’re usually just long enough. Some people don’t realize that we don’t wanna watch 20 to 30 minute fucking videos. I watch the video on sidechaining the other day and when I was done I think I knew less than when I started this guy just was all over the place and I couldn’t tell what the hell he was talking about. I actually think I got dumber from watching that video.

    I used to overuse and abuse C Major in every song i made/remixed, now however i kinda just randomly pick a scale and go with it, or change it if it sounds too dull or too bright for the particular idea.

    i'm just learning production but i have known music theory for years.. i like to use the circle of fifths and Coltrane's method, he used sacred Geometry even to write it's pretty cool... the most basic used chord progression used all thru 90's til around 2006 ish was the Canon in D by Pachelbel.. that 4 note progression used over a thousand times. i find it sickening at this point lol... you have good vids tho bruh, keep teaching us the tricks.

      @@AlexRome everything. haha. where do i start. I just installed Ableton 10 live Suite the other day. i really just need to learn how to use the program first. then start watching more people like yourself who teach how to use it. your boot camp thing sounds really cool. I follow a guy on twitch who does song reviews and stuff too. Online community is the way to go now.
      do you have a video to suggest for me to begin with. I am a bit familiar with using DAW, I used Cubase before but mostly messing around making recordings with guitars no real post production or anything like that.

    • @terrydemo
      @terrydemo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      C major = A minor, so yes these chords in the major scale would be the most common A minor chords

    • @AutPen38
      @AutPen38 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A numerical sequence that works well in a major scale will also be good in a minor scale, but each chord will flip over and sound different. e.g. 1564 in C major is major-major-minor-major, but in C minor it would be minor-minor-major-minor. That is to say, in a major scale, 3 of the 4 most useful chords are majors (I, IV, V) and one is a minor (vi), but in a minor scale, you mostly use three minors (i, iv, v) and one major (VI). e.g. In C major you use a lot of C, F, G, Am, but in A minor you use a lot of Am, Dm, Em, F.

    • @coderaven1107
      @coderaven1107 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@terrydemo Its not exactly the same though. Sure the used notes are identical, but as your root note is A instead of C, you start counting from A not from C. So you end up having different 1,4,5,6 chords in A minor, than in C major.

    • @colinreynolds01
      @colinreynolds01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In a minor key, the i, iv and v are minor chords, and the VI is a major chord. You could definitely use these chords to make something nice sounding, but if you want to create that 'classic pop loop' in a minor key, you would use essentially an inversion of this, viz:
      Start with A minor as your i chord, then your 3 other chords would be III (C) VI(F) and VII(G)
      To sum up, Major key I, IV, VI and vi are the same chords as III, VI, VII, and i in the relative minor key.

    • @claysoul_music
      @claysoul_music ปีที่แล้ว +1

      using Alex's idea, in minor it would be 1, 3 6, 7. if you use Aminor (the relative minor to CMaj), the chords will be exactly the same, A, C, F, G, because CMaj and Aminor have exactly the same chords.
