I don’t care that newer players can spray as good as me. But I hate that the guns are so unsatisfying to use. Like the reason that people wanted aks is because they were fun to use not because they were op. Pre recoil patch you could get away with being just as effective with a Tommy or mp5. But now the ak is 10 tiers above both guns mentioned but still so boring to use.
It's not about saving streamers...its about growing the game with less of a learning curve. No game should require thousands of hours to "get good." It's called balance my friends...People keep crying because they won't be able to just walk all over 80% of the player base anymore. It's also an attempt to discourage cheating. People who don't have the time to sit in aim train servers to remain competitive will be less likely to cheat. Fuck sake, let go of the negative mindset...
yeah most regular people dont have the time to put in 6k hours to practice, this update made it so much easier for working people to actually enjoy pvp

I’ve been playing Rust since the Alpha back in 2013, this is good for the game. There is nothing skillful about learning a pattern and just training your muscle memory. If fighting games like Melee or Tekken combat were primarily only tech skill, they would get stale and boring fast. That’s why you see upsets in those games, someone who’s less proficient at tech skill can still win if they have patience, adapt and outsmart. Welcome this change, as you will be welcomed by new players, that might actually stand a chance in a shootout now. The recoil pattern is not what makes Rust a great game, it’s literally everything else that makes it a great game.

This is just a personal idea/opinion. Why not just make the recoil differences an option for a server? Like official has the original spray patterns and for like a custom server the owner of the server can choose whether or not it has the new recoil system or the old? Idk, I don't really play Rust often but it's just an idea.
Servers own can do that, but I wouldn’t want to play between both as I would never be as good, and if they do this they are splitting the community which won’t be good for some servers

bruh half of rust players (even those that have over 1k hours) are using scripts to help their aim, makes the game so 🐕 💩 on normal servers. Its the biggest amount of cheating I've seen in a single game since pubg launched in china. Rust with randomized recoil sucks for the short term but is better than letting cheaters continue cheating, if it works.

I personally think this new update is great for the game. New players will come and have an easier time in gun fights and have fun. That's what games are meant for. All the OG players should still be fine but now stuff like positioning and outsmarting your opponent should be more considered in fights rather than just aim/recoil management. I think this will also make way for more people using their good weapons more often as they should feel a lot more confident in their abilities rather than having the fear of loss. The game should be fun for everyone, OG players and new players alike.

My sprays are pretty average to maybe a bit above average and I don’t even play the game a whole bunch and I still think it’s the wrong move all it’s doing is removing skill cap I feel they could have handled it better like nerfs or making the recoils harder but the same and that it was a bad idea for them to opt for randomized spray cones
