I have met a couple of people within this period, and even close to marrying one two years ago untill her true personality surfaces and we had to go our separate ways. I am believing there is someone for me and I am hoping the universe will lead us to each other. I am a very simple workaholic man with solid financial independence. I have learnt to live within my means to achieve my financial freedom. Moreover I also think self awareness and reassessment is vital to understand my shortcomings and see if I could improve on certain aspect. And yes, I have a number of rescued felines that I've rescued over the years. I understand Jodi, I had some bad experiences too but learned that the clearer I got about what I wanted and DIDNT want , the PICKIER I got. Even from the first photo (could a man smile, was he wearing shades, did he put effort into his bio ,etx). I would pass on a guy that wasn't smiling. I would pass on a dude with sunglasses.....subconsciously it shows lack of transparency, can't look in the eyes. I passed on guys with minimal effort to pics or writing a bio, because I value a man who puts effort into what he does. That's how I found King by being very selective.
Beautiful story ... I like the way you two look at each other. I always say there is nothing wrong with a woman sparking or intiating a conversation with a guy. I think we get too caught up in the masculine and feminine roles, the whole "A man is SUPPOSED to be the one to iniate the conversation" narrative. I just wanted to like myself in a cave and just fight crime at night (except I am not rich and white -- so my crime fighting career was short). A Muslim brother asked me if I was looking for a wife. My mind said NO -- but that heart thing just jumped in there: "Yes!". Met my wife. Talked to her father and family. We married three months later..... That was ten years ago. She is the best friend I always wanted and the woman Allah knew I needed! Ten years string and we have been all over the world together! Thank you for sharing and your channel. Your story reminds me of how when a woman is into you/attracted to you, she will make it easy for a man to get to know her. Having said that, it's important that men chase excellence, not women. Although I learned that lesson late at 53 years old, I am glad that I worked hard enough to purchase a Maybach and beachfront property in Tahiti. And yes, I have a number of rescued felines that I've rescued over the years. Most men prefer to date women in their 20s/30s as middle aged women from their 40's and up have a lot of issues having made a lot of wrong choices and then having a guy like me pay the price through the many "walls" they have put up.
At the end of the day, dating and relationships are transactional. Every living being deserves authentic love, but very people actually find it,

I understand Jodi, I had some bad experiences too but learned that the clearer I got about what I wanted and DIDNT want , the PICKIER I got. Even from the first photo (could a man smile, was he wearing shades, did he put effort into his bio ,etx). I would pass on a guy that wasn't smiling. I would pass on a dude with sunglasses.....subconsciously it shows lack of transparency, can't look in the eyes. I passed on guys with minimal effort to pics or writing a bio, because I value a man who puts effort into what he does. That's how I found King by being very selective.

Beautiful story ... I like the way you two look at each other. I always say there is nothing wrong with a woman sparking or intiating a conversation with a guy. I think we get too caught up in the masculine and feminine roles, the whole "A man is SUPPOSED to be the one to iniate the conversation" narrative. This lady saw someone who sparked her interest and she made a move, albeit subtle. This man then took intiative to move the relationship forward.
The masculine and feminine roles definitely play a part in the initiating process. Quite frankly, I think many women miss their opportunity waiting for a man to make a move. It takes two to tango 🕺🏽💃🏻.. one makes the subtle move and the other person initiates. Perfectly stated Mike!!

Thanks for sharing this....when you write down who you want (her qualities, personality, etc) your eyes will be more open to see and recognize her. What you focus on will increase, so focusing on the kind if woman you don't want (rude, masculine, etc) will cause you to attract and notice even more of them. I myself am divorced.
After I divorced my ex (she divorced me because I converted to Islam) -- I was done with marriage. I just wanted to like myself in a cave and just fight crime at night (except I am not rich and white -- so my crime fighting career was short).
A Muslim brother asked me if I was looking for a wife.
My mind said NO -- but that heart thing just jumped in there: "Yes!".
Met my wife. Talked to her father and family.
We married three months later..... That was ten years ago.
She is the best friend I always wanted and the woman Allah knew I needed!
Ten years string and we have been all over the world together!
And she helps me in my religion (this is key) and I help her in hers and I protect her and provide and love her and she nurtures, advises and softens me and loves me.
And she keeps me laughing!
I just saw so much of me and my wife in you two!

Newly single mom, after a 22-year marriage. Was there a time when you did not want a relationship because you found yourself just not wanting another person in your life. Maybe do to fear of being hurt again? If you did, how did you get over it, (in my case trauma,) and to move on wanting to find love.
So beautiful. I always hear stories like this how people just find each other. For some reason I never think it will ever happen to me. It feels impossible to believe that one day I can also be in your shoes. Till then I will just keep my heart open, trust in God (Allah) and not settle for less than what I deserve.
Samia, I totally understand the feeling. Faith is crucial! I met King when I started acting AS IF I already had my dream man. I would thank God for him and feel his love, and even pray for him even though I didn't have a name or face yet. I believe this level of faith led him to me.
