Uncle Rob Yukon Turbo Acquired! What's The Plan? (Forced Performance HQ Visit & Turbo School)

  • Today I went to Forced Performance / Xonarotor turbochargers headquarters to meet with Robert Young and pick up this saucy unit. He explains why we are using this particular turbo and what will be changed as things progress. He also has his own boosted Tahoe project that we go over too. Who wants to see them line up??

He looks like he could be Tommy Chong’s brother! But instead of being admit over weed he is admit over turbos and science! Love this dude just as much if not more than I love Cheech and Chong! If I knew this man I would spend DAYS, MONTHS and hopefully YEARS asking questions just in hopes to know a fraction of what he knows! Very inspiring man and your very grateful to know him or anyone remotely smart as him! Wish i had the opportunity to spend some learning time with him

    Hey everyone!
Im Roberts son, Joe, and were both super excited by the response this video got with how much people like listening to him talk about turbos. He and i have both been throwing around the idea of doing a "Robert talks" youtube channel where he just talks about turbos(and hell, even superchargers boost is boost) in a kindof Engineering Explained style videos. Im curious what other people think of that idea? weve only really thrown the idea around a little bit between a few of us at the shop.

Like the approach for the stage 1 turbo with just applying that and the cold and hot side of it. Think it can be a huge market for it to just get that extra power. A lot like in the mid 90s when you had very little tuning ability on the surroundings and not much data to put in. When you go from mid 90s and older NA engines that is.

Are you gonna gap the rings or send it? Duh!
I do have one question, I know your sending all the running gear, but are you going to build the fuel system, cooling, intercooling up so you don't need to change much of it through the build?

his explanation is perfect for Step 1 but buying parts for Step 4 making no sense. That is what keeps guys from driving their cars and then losing interest!! Great video man

It depends on your approach to building. Some guys don’t want to go to step 4 right away or have no intentions of going to step 4. However if you’re going to end up at step 5 just buy the stuff for step 5 if you can afford it the first time. That’s my perspective
