I saw you on that youtube video with those asian guys, I like your police work, if that was you. you were polite and completly understanding of the situation and and had no sign of "power tripping" like 80% of all other cops ive seen. I respect that. I wish every police officer was like you.
It's so cool to see these officers give these Bikes a Real test ride! It says as much about the men that are doing the testing as it does the Bike. It makes the manufacturer bring out his Best machine because it Will get tested before it gets the ok for the patrol officers to use them and the buyers to put in their order .
I ride an “Age Obsolete” CHP Machine just for everything. Been doing it for a couple of years, experiencing diverse models to keep and Resurrect an 1100RTP. Fantastic Machine 🤧💥⚔️🧨💣🛣
Pattern 3 is called The Eliminator. It’s a series of 3 u turns in front of a K Rail. The 40 decel is another pattern that students have difficulty with. There’s many other exercises that were not shown. There’s a ton of incline and decline patterns and riding. Tons of pull outs, fast column rides, etc. If you make it to week 2, you are on a full dresser and it’s all city and canyon riding.
There’s a lot of people out there who have been riding for YEARS, who have never had this kind of training, and don’t have these type of skills... especially the low speed, emergency breaking, tight turns stuff. To me, this type of training would be invaluable to ALL motorcycle enthusiast… Even if he’s NOT in law enforcement.
i'm a biker myself....i wish i could do a course like that but i wouldn't ride a bike with short sleeve shirt...at least proper jacket and wave back protector....
I have a 03 1150RT-P (retired police bike) and it's amazing how well these things handle for 600+ pounds. And they're pretty quick for a boxer twin. ;)
@dewerk Others have told me but thanks for the reply : ) You live in Pittsburg? I live in Byron near the wild idol but im currently in Seattle for school till next summer. Small world!
@theforce02 I watched my dad do the Trianing on the 1200, The 1200 saved his life and so did his Training, he was hit by a SUV on that bike the breaks on those things saved his life.
So they do their high-speed track training wearing thin short-sleeve shirts? Is there a reason that they don't wear a jacket. (Even for hot weather, at least a mesh jacket for abrasion protection?) After all, given their job, I would think they have a higher chance of going down than an average experienced motorcyclist. (even if they do practice riding skills more than most regular riders).
When I went through I came from a sport bike background. Learning to maneuver a 900lb Road King was unreal. I left each day and slept for 10-12 hours each night. Mentally and physically exhausting.
Great confidence is all with a bike. Practice PRATICE then practice. You may then get it close to correct. Our UK police also have great control with the bikes . Also if u ride daily you can and should improve. The police do a bikesafe course ,intence day but very good and find YOUR limit not the bike limit. U should give in before the bike . TJ
You can tell it was a P.R. day when the corner cones have been pulled and the radius cones have been pushed out.so the Officer doesn't a problem making it through. Next time don't mark the cones location before they show up to video the Motor Officers going through them or keep some black paint handy so you can paint over the white you have on the asphalt.
@majorghn Yeah, y'know, except that last month or so. Bet those CHP's were having a great time on their bikes. I'm perfectly satisfied in my P71, myself. I do think that motorcycle cops wear some form of armor, usually jackets (they certainly don't go around in those t-shirts in the video). And as for Euro cops, they don't have to deal with as much vehicular crime as American ones do, but when they do, it's usually some pretty fast shit and they'd be killed without that safety gear.
"always emphasize safety?" doing over 100 mph on a racetrack in short sleeves is nuts. I spoke to a motorcycle cop after seeing this on TV. His force "must" wear leather jackets while on the bike or they will not recieve proper health insurance benefits for road rash inuries if they don't. He complained of the heat and I suggested they look into 3in1 mesh jackets which I am sure would be necessary in the California heat. They should care more for the safety of their officers.
These are the old bikes. Most people who buy a busa or a zx14 have no idea what they're buying and don't know how to ride well. All a chippie motor has to do is light you up and watch the crash.
great excellent training and i think there will be no way to beat those guys. Just look the way the move around the cones. None of the sport bikes can do that.
does it matter if the officers is man or women? and for those who can out run the officers, either road blocks or funeral car well be waiting. sooner or later
The European Motor officers are way ahead of their American counter parts when it comes too safety gear that's for sure!! These CHP officers are not wearing any leather jackets nor even textile jackets and they should be wearing full face helmets!! Not too mention no reflective gear!! It's California.....almost zero humidity and basically mild weather all year.....I know I lived in San Diego for almost 3 years!!
On a personel note the Female officers are as good as the guys . However they smell better and have a better shape. Also the guys look tish with lipstick .TJ

Proud to say I was able to graduate from CHP Motor School in '81Best job ever😉😉😎😎🥰🥰
I graduated there in 2000. We started with 16 and graduated 8. One of the funnest times of my life for 2 weeks.
i have one of those bikes , let me tell you , they are so heavy machines , much respect to those guys .
THIS is why our motor officers are the best on the planet..
Can you go into detail about the mustache requirements?
I saw you on that youtube video with those asian guys, I like your police work, if that was you. you were polite and completly understanding of the situation and and had no sign of "power tripping" like 80% of all other cops ive seen. I respect that. I wish every police officer was like you.
Beautiful! Those guys are the REAL professionals!
wow hats off to them for having the ability to not look down at all and for going almost 120 without a freakin jacket on.

Yeah, I remember CHiPs, that was a great show
Fantastic skill, very impressive,,
The high speed stuff is NOTHING compared to the low speed cone routines.
Agree! At high speed, especially during curves/turns, the obstacles are less obvious (i.e. sand, gravel, wet surface...) but more deadly...

i will love to take a motorcycle course like these cops do
Did Ponch and Jon go through this training? 😀
Actually yes they did for the show.
Unbelievable training. Did LAPD Motor School.KMA
My hat is off to these guys. I would not want to be a State Trooper in Cali. Not on those Interstates.
Hi, No brake? Not even a little rear? Great slow speed riding, Thanks
@nicktacular06 I went to High School in Pittsburg. I now reside in the Sacramento area. I occasionally ride over Highway 4 on the way to visit family.
Thats really cool team
Assistant Commissioner Ramona Prieto was the first female CHP Motor.
they have the BMW's R1100RT-P here in austin tx
too
@dewerk Others have told me but thanks for the reply : ) You live in Pittsburg? I live in Byron near the wild idol but im currently in Seattle for school till next summer. Small world!
If you start and follow through correctly, you end correctly
@nicktacular06 as already noted, there are several "motor women," but I don't know the exact number right now.
I wouldn't describe riding at over 100mph in shirt sleeves as riding safely
+Desmond Orr I was thinking the same thing. The open-faced helmets won't do them any good either if they go down.
+Push Back they don't go down
+Desmond Orr As I was thinking the same. Don't they have to wear protective gear (other than helmet)?
As an EMT, motorcycle accidents without full gear is always a regrettable experience. If not death... i.e. skin avulsions.
Gabriel Jurgens You're kidding, right?

I live in California and was wondering if theres any "motor women"? because ive never seen any.
Great video
@theforce02 I watched my dad do the Trianing on the 1200, The 1200 saved his life and so did his Training, he was hit by a SUV on that bike the breaks on those things saved his life.
@trev777777777 true; why aren't htey having atleast elbow protection..if they had fell at that speed.. geez
Impressive. Can't out ride these people unless you are Evil Kenevil. I wonder how many fail to qualify *?*
James California wash out rate is close to 40-50 percent failure rate.

Awesome..
Younhave no idea how hard this training is.
When I went through I came from a sport bike background. Learning to maneuver a 900lb Road King was unreal. I left each day and slept for 10-12 hours each night. Mentally and physically exhausting.
@nicktacular06 Yes there are.
@Dilpickle911
Thats cool! Thanks for the reply.
Search CHP Kawasaki Concourse if you want the newest CHP bike.
this is some great skills. But isn't it a bit scary to ride that thing at 120mph with short sleeves.
Yup.
as far i can see it that in LA all our roads are in the same condition there all fucked up with cracks dips pot holes etc.
seriously no leathers... i wonder if they paid him to say we can't get away on a crotchrocket
This training is so very difficult. I suspect 95 percent of motorcycle riders would fail the course.
Absolutely 🚲
I’d like to see them on a sport bike
Makes me shudder to see them doing those speeds with shirts on....

@timb37
It would =)
Back to H-D 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Those are 1150's and the new ones are 1200's
sweet skill.

The cones are in there proper location for those bikes. The markings are for other bikes that are used.
@majorghn Yeah, y'know, except that last month or so. Bet those CHP's were having a great time on their bikes. I'm perfectly satisfied in my P71, myself. Thank Sacramento for only approving large, hot and cumbersome leather's that make it difficult to access your belt. Looks > Safety to them.

wow u really have to learn to trust your bike for turns that hard at that speed.
You're definitely not getting away from these guys.
These are the old bikes.
Most people who buy a busa or a zx14 have no idea what they're buying and don't know how to ride well. All a chippie motor has to do is light you up and watch the crash.
And remember kids, don't be squids out there, wear protective clothing (unlike these officers).
I doubt it would matter laying a bike down @ 113 mph.
A 12 year old video on my recommendation... all these comments are older than half the population on TH-cam
A real deal rider and driver will out run them at any giving time
Only 1 female officer in my country ride the big bike the others were given a smaller bike lol
They spelt chips wrong...
If your legal there's no need to run but thats your decision
why do i keep finding you xD ?
645 motors
great skills, but I will never get on my bike without a jacket and full faced helmet.
You are greatly more intelligent than the majority of bikers.
at those speeds a jacket is just a false sense of safety
great excellent training and i think there will be no way to beat those guys. Just look the way the move around the cones. None of the sport bikes can do that.
does it matter if the officers is man or women? and for those who can out run the officers, either road blocks or funeral car well be waiting. sooner or later
The CHP taining and bike skills are very professional After vewing this viudeo you can see why the CHP choose the BMW
The European Motor officers are way ahead of their American counter parts when it comes too safety gear that's for sure!!
These CHP officers are not wearing any leather jackets nor even textile jackets and they should be wearing full face helmets!! Not too mention no reflective gear!!

bmw make the bike , the chp make them look good ,
They go faster.
You can't out-run a motorola...
No safety gear!! That's all I have to say about that.
@nicktacular06 Oh god that would be hot. Just sayin.
