WOW. Last episode genuinely had me thinking we were never gonna see this relationship be mended ever again, and here Mushoku Tensei goes to instantly prove me wrong. God this episode represents Mushoku Tensei the most. Flawed characters changing and growing. The theme of family also permeates the series and it shows first hand here
They didn't show this in the anime but Eris did read Paul mesage while she was on santport. At the time Rudeus was captive with the beast folk so she allready had time to cope with the idea that her home is gone and her parents may be dead. She didn't told Rudeus becouse in her mind thers no way Rudeus woud have miss that mesage he must allready know and dosn't talk about it for consideration to Eris, he allways does stuff like this.
Eris is prepared for that and thought about that, because all this time, rudeus was the only one who thinks a lot for their years of journey. How to make money, how to get away from a dire situation and etc. Meaning eris has a spare while rudeus was overwhelmed.
i think its also, cause Eris is used to her family status, she knows the political schemes behind the scenes. her being aware of the schemes , she expects something happened to her family. Rudy however is completely oblivious about he`s family`s status. aside for thinking he has some rich relatives. that was clearly teased multiple times by Philip. while Rudy just thought about it in hes usual horny mindset. rather then what that whole thing could have implied.
Mushoku tensei is one of those series where many people are put off by the… questionable… actions of the main character, but those who stay are rewarded with one of the best stories ever in my opinion. This episode in particular is by far the greatest scene that has been adapted by the anime so far and it truly gives the viewers the best idea on how character development will be handled going forward. This episode will always bring a tear to my eye
I find most folks see the anime / story as condoning Rudeus' actions when it does the opposite. It's pathetic but here we are. It's been years and people still can't process a story.
The warrior girl with skimpy outfit and the mage girl are actually sisters. They were enslaved and se*ually abused before Paul and his group found and save them. The warrior manage to recover but the mage is emotionally scarred from the tragedy, and develop fear towards men, so from that point on, the elder sister deliberately dresses up as skimpy as possible to attract all of the men's attention to her instead.
You said "I wonder when we will hear from Rudeus, he is somebody else" I know that you meant that he had another life, but another meaning that can be understood is that he is not their son, but it's not true, this is not a substitution, his family only knows one Rudeus that happen to have memories of another life, the Rudeus without those memories doesn't exist.
Idk, how ppl cannot like this anime. It is legitimately one of the best written anime ever. 99% of anime rely on tropes, spectical, and generic writing. This story is very well written. The characters feel pretty real. The world building is great. There is a real sense of journey. And so much more. It is such a gem. I guess some ppl cannot get over the fact that characters can be flawed? But if you cannot swallow that pill then you are subjected to boring stories about perfect ppl.
Its very good, love the constant sarcastic attitude you have... But maybe sometimes actually pay more attention to the story/emotion/cues given? Its really a great story.

Was this manga? Because I don't remember this from the light novel. Maybe I should reread. Such a good series
@@ethanisrael4970 light novel, the Eris the goblin slayer ark, when she was at the adventurers guild in Milis she said she had seen this in sant port
Hearing Paul sob uncontrollably had me fighting back tears tbh
You managed to fight back the tears? I can barely see anything and my nose isn't even near usable.

These two episode are some of the best character writing I've ever experienced in any art.
And the LN is full of this sort of thing. It's crazy how good it is.
