- another year, another sleigh ride! sorry about the earful of clarinets, lol. enjoy and as before, constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated! i know my hand looks a little wonky at times, it was cramping up pretty bad because of the piece we performed before this. i’m a senior in high school now and don’t plan to pursue music as a career but still have the rest of the school year ahead of me, so let me know what improvements can be made :)
Your face at 0:51 was amazing perfectly explains how it feels when another section messes up
lol true, but that was my reaction to me messing up😅 didn’t even hear the clarinets! 2:42 on the other hand .. that was all them
@@moramoment3536 Lovely reaction :-) Next level: smile and look as if nothing happened :-)
As a clarinettist the clarinet area are gonna kill me
literally
Imagine being in a school where the orchestra is an actual orchestra with brass, wind, percussion AND strings, couldnt be me
As a level 5 clarinetist I just have to say:
My ears ☠️
ikr im also a clar player
Fr
from one bassist to another- both your sweater and your playing skills are great:))
thank you!!
A trumpet player here
Those clarinets are the end of my hearing ☠️
bro the clarinets..
Ikr
I play clarinet but when i searched up the music on google to play I didn’t even wanna play it anymore to many high notes at a fast pace
Too many clarinets trying to play high notes makes it sound so out of toon lol
Ok period🤭❤️
No one wants to play second so they always go for first
always great to hear the bass part for this song !!!!! also i know the majority of the comments are already saying stuff abt this but the clarinets were destroying every little crumb of my soul with every note they played (junior year clarinet player)
the clarinets are not eating though
As a clarinetist, your clarinet section is ... interesting ... and that face you made at them 0:49 is killing me
I never realized how physical the bass was. Wow! You're working hard. I thought the hard part was lugging the thing around.
Love the garland sweater!
Basses are 10 pounds they look heavy but there not
Hey again. A section of 3 is luxury for small groups. Very nice. Good left hand. Cant wait for this to be a yearly tradition. I gotta make one too sometime. :>
thank you! and there are actually seven of us in this section, it’s the biggest orchestra in my school 😄
I like how your instrument had a Santa hat. :)
The clarinets omg. That's why I switched to bass clarinet
Bro I'm a clarinet and your clarinets are kinda killing me 😫
our clarinets were kinda killing everyone within earshot 😭
@@moramoment3536 oof. No offense but I'm in beginning band and even us in higher register sounds better 😭
@@1di0t02 omg I joined band this year as clarinet too 😊
@@1di0t02 NO WAY
@@prosarahgaming3253 are you good at it
I’ve really been enjoying all these sleigh rides on you tube. Our band played sleigh ride every year. Enjoy senior year, and if you still like to play there might be an adult community band in your neighborhood. Or maybe a jazz combo just waiting for a lady bassist.
This is awesome! I’ve always wanted to play bass, but I’m much more accustomed to violins and violas. Also as a former band kid, the clarinets were in the top three reasons I left- Anyways, amazing performance! Lots of love from a violinist :D
Your my new best friend
@@aliviachaudhuri1841 Lmao, I need more friends so perfect-
@@Pascella that's awesome!
@@aliviachaudhuri1841 Nice lol
@@Pascella welll sooo now this is wierd I wasn't joking when I said I need friends so do u have a roblox or a discord or a snapchat or anything like that?
as a beginner cello player this sounds super awesome :)(on your part) ( the clarinets are.. yeah)
I couldn't get over the fact on how cute that little Santa hat is
FANTASTIC JOB!!!! Hooray for the bassists, thank you for posting this! And Merry Christmas, your parents are proud I'm sure!
It's a little difficult to hear your bass.... but much easier SEEING it in action.
YESS I haven’t seen this perspective yet! Gotta love the double basses ❤
man, as a clarinetist.. the way I’m trying so hard to think of a way to back up and defend those clarinets.. but damn bro 💀
As a clarinetist, we do not affiliate with these traitors.
Bro the clarinets where soooo loud they took over the show when they were playing
it's just where the recording was, if it was near the trumpets you'd hear them blasting
So nice to see! It bring back memories of playing bass in the school orchestra. I was a German bow girl, though.
german bows scare me😭 i want to try and learn to use them but i’ve used french for like six years now lol so i just stick with it
@@moramoment3536 If french bow works, stick with it!
@@moramoment3536 I'm the opposite, I learned using German, and used it for 10 years, and now I'm trying French, and it is way different. Completely different style of playing.
As a clarinetist,my ears are bleeding 💀💀
Now look, I'm an oboist. I know all about being out of tune, it's our specialty! But holy geez those clarinets!
COME ON CLARINETS….
as a young clarinetist, i’m ashamed..
Idk why but, I get major deja vu when I see ur face. (I hope this doesnt sound weird but, I swear I saw you before somewhere, like on a show or something)
Our band director once told us “the difference between chopping onions and chopping clarinets is that no one cries when you chop clarinets”. As a clarinet player I always remembered that.🥴
I love how I can barely hear the bass’s
Why does she kinda look like Enid-
Exactly!
i don’t see it lol but thank you!! i love her
this one is actually unique because bass matters
ive always loved the bass and wanted to play it after ive seen some more videos on it, it seems like a really cool instrument to play!! coming from a euphonium player!
ur so pretty!!!
thank you!!
It's great to do what you love! 😃 Keep it up!
The clarinets ate..
sounds like they ate their mouthpiece and then tried to play the clarinet
The fit goes CRAZY.
Oooo I play double bass too (there is only three of us in the whole school lol)
AS ANOTHER BASSIST, I ADORE YOU
Your bowing is rlly good. I remember when I played violin; and I was super screechy and tense.
My community band is playing this piece this year! We don't have a string bass, but we do have an electric bass. (me) Wish me luck!
@@ozzoakenshield7920 that’s awesome !! we had an elec one year along with our full section of uprights, it was super fun :)
YOUR SO BEAUTIFUL WHAT
Yes. Her loveliness and smile helped me tolerate those clarinets! (Very nice playing too )
Eu toco clarinet e fiquei em choque com os desse vídeo KAKAKAKAKKA
i wish we had basses at our school, they did years back and i have wanted to play one for 7 years, good playing though
awesome stuff! :D I would just say if anything you should focus on your left hand and trying not to let your fingers collapse. that can cause a lot of unnecessary tension and buzzing. you want to make sure your fingers are in a C shaped curve and your joints dont collapse. otherwise great performance!
thanks! been trying to work on this
OH MY GOODNESSSSUGDIAJSGDUAYPOKTOIEW YOU ARE. SO PRETTY WHAT? ? ? YOUR HAIR
Back 8 months later after my original plan were playing this in band we sounded pretty good
Girl I couldn’t imagine putting up my shitty videos of me playing my bass in high school on TH-cam, that’s so much pressure lmao you’re brave for this (not implying that this is shitty I just couldn’t do this at your age 😭😭)
i never thought about putting a hat on my bass :O
I was like oh wow the clarinets are good then it just sounded really out of toon 😭🙏🏼
The clarinets give me brain damage
oml the clarinettsss 😩💀💀
If I send this to my friend who is a clarinet she would be embarrassed. For beginner band she is really good.
it kinda sounds like the clarintes are rushing the slurs. but I cant really tell because i just joined my schools band
the clarinets are hanging on by a thread
that was so good omgee
As a clarinet player myself these poor clarinets are sticking out like a sore thumb from being out of tune, however coming from a small school with only 3 clarinets including myself at least you can hear them...
My yt is full of these videos on peoples perspectives on each instrument lol
leave us alone we are trying 😢 -clarinetist
Loved it!
as a clarinetist, what was going on in the clarinet section.
This is awsome!
1:51 The Reaction To When Your Favorite Part Comes Up!
it is my favorite! so fun to play for lower strings and brass :)
Love it.
The neck snap 1:13 😂
I mean who hasn’t done that at least once in while listening
Good job!! Your so cute too
baconman got rizz
The clarinet lines tho
Imagine you school teaching string instruments😭
1:30 "nope not funny dont smile play music just play music-"
Part 3 this year?
@@Arialovestoedit no :( this video is from my senior year of high school (2022) which is the last time i was involved with orchestra/music sadly. i miss it every day
@ awww u were a wonderful bass player as a violin player I loved the vid tho!
I can hear you playing!
As a clarinet, I apologize on behalf of this section. I swear we normally sound good
Captain obvious I may be but damn she is sooo pretty 😍
Are there cellos?
yes! i was lucky enough to play in the full symphony at my school, so full strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, etc :)
Enid?
You look like Emma Myers
U are so cute,good job
I’m sorry not to be rude but what is that clarinet section 💀😭🙏🏻 praying for them frfr
A string bass can play in a band? I thought it was an orchestra instrument
i’m lucky enough to go to a school with a lot of different orchestra groups- this is our full symphony! strings plus brass/winds, percussion, etc. sometimes vocalists too! i also play in a full string ensemble :)
Sometimes bands will have string basses in them. I play string bass at the band in my school
This is more the bass' perspective than the bassist's...
i played bari sax in this song and the notes at the whip section felt so uncomfortable to play. the way the notes were written were just so unhelpful and random
Don't judge band on this clip alone
Please tell me the clarinets sounded better from a distance 😢
they did thankfully😭 you couldn’t hear them as clearly from the audience
I also play Bass
Oh my god the clarinets.. I'm a clarinetist and there's one guy in my section who acts just like that I feel so bad for your ears
the funny part is i hardly even noticed during the performance, only when i watched the recording after
Uhm… am i the only one that heares those clarinets 😅
HELP AS I CLARINETIST I CAN SAY THE CLARINETS SOUND LIKE FARTS
As a clarinet player, I’m disheartened.
The clarinets are just trilling for like 10 measures eeeeeeee
Apart from the nice playing, a most beautiful face. 🤗. 🐨 🦘🦘
lmao ngl you look like maya rudolph
As a Clarinetist my ears hurt from the clarinets
I literally never once heard you. That is so sad! Wish you guys had microphones. It's a very important sound. Meanwhile I wish the Clarinets had a mute.
I wish your string bass was louder and the band softer lol
we can obviously hear the percussion and carinets are the star of the show but i love your music to!
Yes, hello fellow orchestra member wh as put in band because there weren't enough people for band I play the violin and welp you make are clarinets sound like gods- no offence but our clarinets never even play the right notes and are playing to quiet other then that their very good
I'm disappointed in the clarinet section 😕
Look How Big That Thing Is Compared To A Normal Human (You)
wait hold up is that a Hollow Knight pfp?
