This song almost makes me cry. Being a kid in the 80s and a teen in the 90s, life wasn’t perfect by any stretch.. but we had some good days, and great, timeless music. It reminds me of a time that won’t ever be again, where the world wasn’t so much like it is today where no one has any time, and there’s so much hate and anger about everything. Again it wasn’t perfect then at all, but we did lose something in gaining all this technology.
I feel exactly the same . But can't stop watching this song. Would love a night like this !
I was there in the 80s and it sucked in many ways, including immenent nuclear annihilation - now, all you have to do is turn off the mass media and most social media (except people you know)

@@Neil072 legend, thank you, I was born 94 however this music still manages to leave me with so much nostalgia for an era I didn't even experience, it's very wierd lol, just takes me back to no mobile phones, summer holidays out on your bikes with your mates, building dens, climbing trees.....I envy those that got to experience the 80's and 90's and a kid/teen

This song takes me back, back to a time where you had to drum up courage to talk to a girl.. 😂 😂 I was a 80s kid... great time to be a kid. Then the 90's came wonderful time to be a teenager, find that girl and try hard not to choke, manners, respect, 😂 😂 spend your summer earnings to take her anywhere, just to spend time with her. Maybe..... Just maybe to win her heart for the summer or a lifetime. Either way, it was journey that I would not change or alter... this song really takes me back to that place, unknown, possibilities, no plan just jump in the car and cruise see where your life leads you. Why do I have feelings of melancholy and nostalgia. I missed the 80s by a year.
I think there was something magical about the 80s. The threat of nuclear war was just as real to our parents as it was to our grandparents. The Liberals caused a lot of problems and it was looking like it would be just more of the same as the Conservatives. Oh and back to nukes... they were young, and if the clock struck midnight, it'll all end in blinding flash as if some sick twist of fate it was all but a dream.
So live here and now, they thought.
We live with the same specter, and the same bullshit from the Left and the Right, and none of the magic our parents felt, none of the elation that came from liberating the world, our grandparents felt.
Just the emptiness of being a castrated race.
It was the same for me as teen, I had nostalgia for 70s, like I was there and knew how it was. Born in 1980.

This is one of my favorite songs paired with one of my favorite movies.
God was so kind to give Jenniffer Connolly for humanity. Very beautiful and timeless. Has aged beautifully and gracefully. Even now the aura is still there. Top Gun Maverick is an example. 80s were the golden years. Too much technology spoiling everything. God bless her.

Ive seen them in March this year in Manchaster, UK. Amazing atmosphere, goosebumps! Tyler was amazing live on vocals, and everyone else kicked ass too!
And i was there with My Person 💙 so it was absolutely fantastic.

I think it’s because this song was released in 2020… It’s funny though how oftentimes there is no discernible difference between the “80’S ‘synthwave’’’ genre of the 2000’s, and era correct actual 80’s music. Love this Song though no matter what decade. I think they call that… “Timeless…”

Man, I don't think most people even remember that there used to be Wal-Marts that weren't "supercenters", which may be a lost term at this point since all Wal-Marts are the same size. There was a small one on US1 near me. Went away probably around 2006, but the stores that replaced its spot in the plaza still remain, including Planet Fitness. I still use the leather wallet my dad bought for me there so many years ago. It was where my Gamecube was purchased for Christmas. It had a small, 3-4 table food court near the garden entrance and toy section where I learned the term "chicken fries", and they were good. I remember salivating over the Pokemon figures in their cardboard and plastic bubbles in that toy section.
