@@cloudy5115 yeah and they fought to a stalemate where she would've ended up getting eaten if it weren't for Finlay. Those two are probably the strongest in the game besides outer gods Maliketh and maybe miquella so with one out of the way the other could be practically unstoppable, but both were too damaged from their fight. Honestly I don't see why those two didn't just team up and be literally unstoppable.

That's the key to this fight. He's a big target, but he's a mobile target as well. He was able to dish out more damage than Melania could regenerate because he kept rolling out of the way. His ultimate downfall was a combination of Melania's damage output and scarlet rot.

He has nothing but slow and obviously telegraphed attacks which hit really, really hard. Enemy AI is not programmed to be capable of reading telegraphed attacks, so he hits with them about 90% of the time.
Works out pretty well for the big guy.

@@mida05g to be fair the fire giant did slap her silly. Beat her first phase and nearly beat phase 2. Lost to rot and the fact the arena is too small for him so when his AI rolled out of the rot it actually just stayed in it due to hitting the arena wall.

This more than anything is a show of just how insane her health regen is. She should have gone down a couple of times, at least in phase 1 but that health regen is so powerful.
That just shows her durability. The fact is Malenia solos anyone in the game 1v1 besides radagon/elden beats and marika. Not even maliketh could take on her second form , game wise or lore wise. And lore wise she’d actually be a good contender for top 3 given the fact how OP rot is.

Maliketh was only feared because he had the ability to kill the demi gods, not because he was stronger. Yet GOR Malenia can’t be killed by him. And rot can take over him regardless if he wields death or not.

He literally beat a rival of Marika, who is superior to Malenia, while that rival had an army of Godskins and each wielded Destined Death.
Lore wise he would demolish her even without Destined Death. With it he'd wipe her within seconds. And if SHE had Destined Death, he'd still win. He's done that before.

@@christiancavelltaylor442 You can actually survive it, and ive seen videos of Malenia vs Radahn where she survives it. It does take like 60% of her health though. And sometimes radahn even wins in a 1v1 against Malenia, simply cause of that attack.

I've seen a video where a guy put all of the demigods on the same scalling area to fight (so even godrick got a chance to shine) and on the first round, he didn't deactivate mogh's nihil damage, he killed every single one of them, even rykard having the biggest health bar only lasted until the 3 nihil
Allowing Mohg to deal damage with his Nihil is basically letting him win instantly against bosses with less than 2 phases

The Tarnished did more than Hoarah Loux and Radagon to prove his case to be named Elden Lord. Among his/her enemies, the presence of multiple Outer Gods was there many times, the God of Scarlet Rot, unsealed when fighting Malenia, the Formless Mother when fighting Mogh, the Primeval Current when fighting Astel, the God of Fire when fighting the Fire Giant, the unnamed God of Dragons and lastly, the Greater Will itself when fighting the Elden Beast.
Also Destined Death when fighting Malekith but this has not been confirmed as an Outer God.

Malenia dodging ability sometimes makes me wonder if she is not actually controlled by a human player all the time, it is literally one of the best combat A.I.'s I've ever seen a npc have. She predicts and dodges moves so skillfully thats its almost beautiful, like in the opening fight sequence 0:32 against godrick how she back stepped and sidestepped around him to counter and stagger him so perfectly

Bosses don't work very well in Malena's arena. So in a way she's facing them against the nerfed bosses.
The bosses she can't defeat are Mogh, Maliketh, Dragonlord Placidusax. And if it's a long-distance battle, she loses badly to Radhan, because she can't get to him. Alas, very strange for Godfrey to beat her.
It makes total sense symbolically tbh

@@Lepoetism I think apart from Godfrey, it's implied and pretty much confirmed that none of the other demigods can beat her. And this is because Radahn is recognized by many to be the strongest demigod who fought in the Shattering (before the Shattering even). That makes him objectively stronger canonically than all his half siblings, including Morgott and Mohg, and even then he only fought Malenia to a draw.
As for Radagon/Marika, they aren't demigods, they are actual gods. So yes they can probably beat her too. Maliketh I don't know about, but considering he has control over Destined Death, which killed a god before, I would say he can beat her too so I agree.
I think that a large factor in Hoarah’s victory was Malenia not getting immunity to his ground pull attack (the big explosion aoe). What I mean is that, usually, after you get hit by an attack’s hitbox once, you become immune to the hitbox. This is much like the buggy 11k damage dogs, where the script that executed this immunity was flawed, making it not work properly. Malenia isn’t coded to have this immunity on that specific attack type, meaning the explosion hit her, like, 10 times. At least, I THINK this is what happened. I’m no game developer, after all.

I usually get frustrated when I don’t see any immediate progress on something, and learning how to code in general seems like a daunting task. Besides, knowing how a game works and knowing how to make a game work are two different things.

From experience it's because he didn't hit you with his rolling attack which causes him to glitch sometimes and attack between his rollings also i've noticed that he stops whenever you get knocked down on the ground

As a first elden lord he defeated literally every enemy that land in between had. Canonically, he is the strongest character overall, except Radhan who is literally holding back the stars while firing anyone that comes close to him. (I’m not counting Radagon, Marika, Ranni and elden beast because there are simply no feats how we can consider their strength. But I still think that in battle Godfrey could defeat any of them.)
Maliketh is the strongest character I think. Possibly even stronger than the Elden Beast.

Yes, they say, that every demigod feared him, but Godfrey is not a demigod, and again, we have Radhan, that literally holds back creatures like Astel and Morningstar beasts.

Maliketh singlehandedly committed genocide on the Godskins, all of which are most likely Numen, same race as Marika, which are a type of super powered humanoids from beyond the Lands Between. Furthermore, he defeated their leader, the Gloam-Eyed Queen, who was another Numen Empyrean just like Marika, who too was selected for godhood and rival to her. And what's worse, at that time the Gloam-Eyed Queen and her Godskins wielded Destined Death at its strongest, which was literally anti life. It killed all it touched instantly. This is why the Gods feared them so much and why they hunted them so easily. Even Gods couldn't defeat them.
But Maliketh did. So he either survived the unsurvivable, or he solod a Marika-esque powerful Numen warrior queen and her whole army of God killing Godskins without getting touched once. Either way, nobody in Elden Ring lore has anything to rival that, nowhere near. The Godskin Duo is already seen as one of the hardest bosses in the game. In their primes, they killed instantly because they wielded Destined Death. Imagine fighting dozens of them + someone roughly equal in power to someone like Radagon/Marika/Malenia as they are the only other Empyreans we fight. Imagine not being able to get hit once by any of them without dying. Imagine not having a weapon while doing it. Imagine still winning.

Sources of of all this information are the Blackflame and Beast Incantations, Maliketh's own armor and weapon, the Black Blade Incantation, and the Godskin weapons and armor, including the Godslayer Greatsword which belonged to the Gloam-Eyed Queen. Together they sum up that Destined Death once killed instantly, that it belonged to the Godskins, that the Godskins were aptly named for hunting and skinning Gods for clothing, that they were led by the Gloam-Eyed Queen who was Empyrean, that Maliketh defeated them all singlehandedly, that he did it without a weapon and that it is in fact how he got his weapon, and that his very name means "Death Of The Demigods", likely in reference to how many he slaughtered since only Demigods can become Empyrean. I think Numen can become Demigods. They are ''Long lived but seldom born'', which fits the Godskins very well for example. And how else could Marika who was just another Numen be chosen for Godhood like Malenia and Miquella? Plus, we as the player can be a Numen, and look how strong we can get. Furthermore, the Godskins must be Numen, because they are born of the Gloam-Eyed Queen and fit every description. In other words, Maliketh slaughtered a whole army of God killers led by a warrior Goddess that each wielded instantly killing magic.
He's stupidly powerful in the lore. And even in gameplay. He can kill Radagon and the Elden Beast back to back, and you know what? I think that might very well be lore accurate.
Rykard is a free crimson flask for Malenia
Glad people are recognising Mohg and Fire Giant for pulling their weight so hard. Mohg was able to chunk a lot of malenia’s health bar even though the nihil didn’t deal damage, and fire giant not only had her on the defensive, but actively avoided damage, until he baited her into the flame breath and absolutely wrecked her hp bar
Mohg's second phase made their battle look like such an elegant, pitched duel, a dance of skill and power. I was getting hyped watching him give as much as he took. What a beast.
Rykard is so gimped in this. No lava, no skull tornado, just a bigass damage sponge to heal off...
Mohg would have finished that first phase with some proper Nihil'ing.
Also Fire Giant is a fucking badass.
To be fair, Malenia was just standing their letting Mohg do it. If she's been attacking he'd have went down a lot quicker.

Nah, Fire Giant is stronger in this form. Here he starts at full HP in his second form that takes way less damage. If anything he'd be more likely to lose.

Fire Giant with both legs must have been a powerhouse, even without one of his legs he managed to do what others couldn't do, he finished first phase and got through half second phase's health!
Edit: I haven't fought Fire Giant yet, so I don't know if he does have a leg phase.

The great rune of a demigod seem to adapt itself to its bearer. Therefore, because Malenia is constantly rotting and her body is gradually faling apart, her great rune heals her to balance it. It's like a deadpool situation: deadpool's cancer is constantly destroying his cells while his healing factor is constantly creating cells, keeping everything balanced. (It's a theory but after all we know that Radahn's great rune is burning to ward off the rot within him and all of the runes fits very well their bearers so i guess it's how it works)
Edit: nevermind, if her great rune is able to heal her it's actually because it is imbued of Malenia's "spirit of resistance", her will to contain the scarlet rot within her as her great rune tells us.
Her great rune allow its bearer to recover hp when attacking after getting hit. So because Malenia is constantly getting hit by the rot, every time she land an attack she heals (basically the rot is trying to attack her to spread across the land, but because she's a badass, she just pulls out a "no" and recover out of sheer will)

Malenia pulls a casual 19,000 passive damage after soloing every boss prior. 2 mins later "Hoax damage is absurd"
Another interesting idea would be to take Malenia to other bosses arenas, I feel like Rykard and Fire Giant would have been entirely opposite of these results within their own arenas.

I seriously have no idea why you bothered with Rykard, it's the least aggressive boss and Malenia has her DPS healing. So it was clear she was gonna win, just a massive healing boost before the next boss honestly.

The fact that she beat more than half the story bosses on her own tells you just how absolutely broken and unbalanced Malenia is. The worst part is that if it wasn’t because of the fire giant’s ginormous health pool and how weird his hit box is she would have probably kept going.

@@ajaymaxi82 It doesn't matter if one or two bosses weren't in their usual environment or if she healed off them, the fact remains that she single handedly beat some of the most powerful bosses like Mogh, Godfrey, Redhan, Fire Giant, and Morgott like they were cute little dogs. A balanced boss should always be more powerful than the one before it, but never so ridiculously powerful that they exceed more than 70% of the game's main bosses together. Honestly idk why you're even arguing that she's not unbalanced, I think pretty much everyone agrees that she is.
@@YoruWasTaken Sorry that’s not what I meant, I will admit she is quite a bit harder than many of the other bosses, but she isn’t absolutely over the top in difficulty, she’s an endgame boss for a reason. Also it’s easier for a human to do it than a boss because we’re smarter than the boss AI. Also, that’s what all the souls games are about, it’s not about being strong enough to overcome an enemy or obstacle, but being smart enough to overcome it.
it's interesting how boss strength changes depending on whether or not they are in their home turf. Like Maliketh absolutely destroying Malenia when she was put in his arena instead of the other way around.

Also nice to see Morgott get some decent hits in, even if it was due to Malenia being relatively passive in her first phase.
Can you use 2 serpent great spear with the special effect for the L1 moveset. It's impossible in the original game
Not impossible, you get the effect on any great spear you use with great serpent hunter. I got the effect with serpent hunter plus Lance.

Life steal is the worst thing about malenia. And her waterfowl dance basically regens half her health. I tried to find ways to cheese her. I found the best way is to simply. Unironically, unfacetious and smug like. Git Gud I hate it but she honestly brought me back to ornstein and smough where I was on the verge of rage quitting.

The first Godfrey fight proves just how broken Waterfowl Dance is- he was whooping ass and then Malenia unleashed that and annihilated him. Fortunately Horah Loux is a true WARRIOOOOOOOOOOOORRRR
