      Yup, this incessant focus on who should pay more is ridiculous and counterproductive. Let's talk about how we can all pay less instead of deciding who to demonize and punish. Let's talk about lowering our spending, cutting costs and having an actual budget we stick to. Who is talking about this stuff? No one. This is why our country is going down the tubes, and quickly.

      @ a flat rate tax system disproportionately affected poorer people. Say you put in a 10% tax, and you have one person making 10k/y and someone making 100k/y. I grantee that the 1k lost from person 1 causes a lot more damage than the 10k lost from person 2. And that only goes up as you get richer and richer, that’s just plain facts. If you make more money, living expenses don’t go up in price so you can still be comfortable paying more in taxes. Also, if you were to implement a flat tax system, you would only be lowering taxes for rich people and raising taxes for poor people, and it would have to be by a lot to sustain our country’s expenses

That, is absolutely insane to me and running a business has only made me realize how absolutely upside down the system is built. You guys are letting wealthy people convince you to act against your own self interests, and it’s just so painful to watch.
      If the middle class represents so little in regards to total tax income, then we should be all the more happy to lower middle class taxes and increase taxes for corps like myself.

      @Isaac2001Ike you are absolutely correct. However, the fundamentals of Marxism and big government is to keep the masses suppressed. This is easily done by keeping the strugglers struggling. Though it seems terrible, I feel that inflation is even more terrible. The elderly struggle all their life committed to this nasty lifestyle the government has imposed only to strip them of their savings in very short order.
      My heart breaks for those steady and committed wage earners going forward in our self destructing government. A grim reminder that this earth will never take care of us and protect us from ill will of tyranny. We have to fight and beg for everything we get as a nation. Political correctness is a fundamental process of diluting principles of man. This is the process that closes our eyes to evil. If you are willing to compromise your ideals and morals to fit in, you have essentially sold your soul to evil. If you are unable to stand for anything, you will fall for everything! Sorry to go down this rabbit hole, but it is relative to our government demise. We are now living the effects of poor choices and stupid placement of power.

      @@johndoe43I am telling you that it is a fact, corporate tax rates are lower than personal income tax rates. This means that factually, a billion dollar corporation pays a smaller tax rate than its own minimum wage workers. If you have a basic understanding of college math this hurts the ears to hear. He’s mixing up proportions and amounts, which is something you see in grade 6. Tax math is about proportionality, not amounts, amounts mean nothing. By definition poorer people pay less taxes, they make less money. That’s not a new discovery. What’s actually relevant is comparing the proportion of wealth paid for in taxes by corporations vs individuals - and you’ll see that the average corporation pays 12.5% of their profits in taxes, and the average individual will pay 25-26% of its income in taxes. This is the only math that has meaning in this context. Whether the corporation is making 100 Million or 1 Billion, doesn’t matter, they still pay a smaller proportion of it than a mcdonald’s worker. This is what is absolutely insane, that somehow nobody wants to talk about or confront, and Republicans’ tails get stuck between their legs when they hear this.

The only problem is that they still think $70k is $70k in 2006. It is really more like $40k. I can pay for a shitty apartment, eat, and do a fun thing every now and again. I don't spend a lot of my money. I am barely getting by. Our wages aren't worth what they used to be. A week of groceries is $150. Eating out at McDonalds is fuckin $20 now. That's why TAX CUTS for all, including corporations, actually helps the middle class more. It makes goods cheaper (supply and demand), provides higher wages and more staffing when corporations have more money to spend. It benefits the middle class in many ways. If we tax the corporations to death they will manufacture elsewhere and hire foreign employees, which has become a huge issue.

    • @swanbeats-502
      @swanbeats-502 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ashlovesblush13I mean in terms of “basic economics” u would be right in terms of more money around to invest, more jobs, more money. However, it’s not as simple as that! U need to take into consideration of the “psychology of money” corporations will not hire more people, they will increase there price of product as people have more money so ur real wage decreases, while there profits increases. An example of this is Covid, oil and gas companies got given “tax breaks, money to help them” but they just increased their price in product on top of that BECAUSE THEY CAN! With the money given to them they can reinvest that into the business (making them more money) The government also gave money to the poor/middle class but that would go on bills, increasing their profits (you see how this is going). If you genuinely think that big global companies pay tax or operate in their own country you are wrong 🤣 Amazon= Ireland and Apple=Ireland but (manufacturing in China but made in America) cause of low corporate tax/product price but they avoid it by just reinvesting into the business or by making donations to reduce this. Yes they do pay tax, but at maybe 4%, which is nothing to them meaning they don’t pay their fair share anyways. What would be better is, actually having a wage or ph pay in line with inflation of around 2% per BOFE, and setting a fair equilibrium for that product. This will increase productivity on both sides, consumers can actually consume, and small SMEs can actually function 🤣 So to conclude, raising or cutting taxes is bad for the middle class no matter what you do. Until governments can set a fair price for products such as bread if bread takes 4p/c to make the highest u can sell it for is 80p/c and the lowest you can sell it for is 70p/c (example) this creates competition and not an monopoly. Where you get the best value, and companies don’t abuse cheap labour. Furthermore, if it wasn’t for so many loopholes in “tax law” where big companies can easily avoid it, inequality wouldn’t be as high as it is now. An example of this is inheritance tax, in the UK this has increased, meaning the middle class pay more to give assets to families. This is targeted to help the UK reduce inequality but this is doing the opposite as MOST rich people don’t pay inheritance tax anyways as it is tied up in a LLC, meaning they can just change the CEO and avoid it.(more to it but gives a basic foundation).Tax isn’t a way to punish both rich or poor, it’s to protect the nation. The way tax is atm, it’s only benefiting the rich I’m afraid. Btw I do have mathematical formulas, evidence based research and also a degree in economics and financial analysis, if u do wish to discuss further. I get why people like yourself come to this conclusion, but in real terms it just doesn’t work for the reasons I stated. If you disagree with what I said you’re entitled to or agree or change my opinion you’re more than welcome this is academia!

    A smaller government is the answer. If our government had to run like the private sector, it would be, at most, half the size it is now.

    • @honza970
      @honza970 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I am not from US, but when I talk to people working in public sector in my country, they just don't have a choice. It's the system, not people.
      I will give example of public tenders:
      There are massive regulation on everything. They are terrified of doing anything wrong, because everything is so complicated and it has potential criminal consequences. When there is a real possibility of being thrown to the court system, CYA is priority number one. At one time, our ministry of transportation basically refused to sign contracts, unless ordered by court system. If you refuse to sign, you might lose your employment, if you sign, you might spend next 10 years in courts.
      Public procurements are regulated to hell and back in an attempt to ensure public spending is not misused. That has several consequences, e.g. in private sector, you can change the terms of a contract in an exchange for something (e.g. something is shown as unfeasible or super expensive so you negotiate). That's just not possible in public tender. Competitors would complain their offer did include that and was therefore more expensive.
      Our Office for the Protection of Competition basically ensures the only criteria used is price. Quality or anything else is just not used, because price is a criteria that can't be disputed. If anyone appeals, it means whole timeline is screwed and you can just cancel the tender. That budgeted money you worked last year for the cancelled tender... Yeah, it's gone. So everyone uses only price, even if they know the cheapest winner will blow up.
      Budget must be fully spent, no exceptions. If you have something left, budget for next year is cut.

Theoretically, it is the same %, the amount is of course totally different (1 10M personal paying the same as multiple others, but what each category left after taxes is what counts.. 18K first person, 90K second person, 9M last person.. To explain let’s say the bottom 50 percent of Americans make 10,000 dollars a year and that the top 50 percent makes 100,000 dollars a year let’s say that everyone pays an income tax of 25 percent the bottom 50 percent will pay 2,500 dollars in taxes and the top 50 percent will pay 25,000 these means that the total tax collected between one person in the top 50 percent and one person in the bottom 50 percent is 27500. This means that the bottom 50 percent pay only 9.1 percent of the total tax collected. Now this is more than the 3 percent he said but I didn’t acount for the ultra rich/ultra poor and that the US using a progressive tax system which will tax the wealthier a bit more. Plus registering the LLC tax code in a low corporate tax country. However, investing in paintings is another way to do this. But the real kicker here for you is that “most rich people” don’t have a taxable income WOW shocker! They use debt! So this is different to you if u do have a business, as you probably don’t have enough value or earn enough through the business to take advantage of debt. If you are making less than $500,000, which is still a great deal of money, lower those income taxes and raise it on the rich to counter balance it. However if we are talking about Apple or Amazon then yes they don’t tax even as an LLC cause the business doesn’t produce an income, it produces value! For example, Apple might make a phone for £15 and sell it for £700, all profits go to fixed costs/overheads, paying the shareholders etc. After that what is different between SMEs VS Apple is the small SMEs take an income from the business as if they did reinvest it they would have no income. Meaning (net worth of business is too low to take a debt out against it, bank would reject it as it’s too high of risk and not enough liquidity) But Apple would put it back into the business/ give bonuses. Then the CEO or owner with the majority share would take a collateral out against his business as income meaning he doesn’t pay tax! As its debt. Debt is not a taxable income. So yes you’re partially right but in the grand scheme of things you’re wrong for the most part.

      We use exemptions for our trucking business. Gross 186k last year. Net 18k... what did we live on ?..60k which was expensed off... perfectly legal 😊 taxes to state 0 taxes to fed 0... self employment tax based on 18 k... 2800.00. Now anyone who is self employed and is not set up as a llc is leaving money on the table. Do I feel bad about "not paying my fair share"? No way with fuel taxes road taxes property taxes sales and excise taxes... we pay more than our "fair share"
