Scary stuff but I am silly enough to give a shot.. the departure and approach angles on the grand might make it hard though and I am only 3 inch lifted on 32s and oh I am doing it solo :)
Trent Brown I'm in a club and there are more petrol than diesel jeeps so I guess that's a suggestion of what is better. If you buy a petrol though only buy the 3.6l pentastar engine.
Mate we were petrol. There is no shortage of petrol up there and although we carried Jerry's we didn't really need to. Saying that I would always feel better having at least one Jerry. The kms/100 are the same as you would on most dirt tracks. I personally have a 3.6L pentastar and get about 13.5-14.5. and that was fully loaded up with camp gear. The OTT and Frenchmans were probably around 18-19 as most driving is 2nd and 3rd gear.
Great video . Hope to be doing that trip myself next year some time only I will be in a 2003 V8 Grand :) ... jeep life.
Mark Tate thanks mate. Love to see you put the grand down gunshot. Never seen one do it but reckon it can be done.

What size tyres and lift are you guys running? Both of your rigs look perfect for touring 👍🏻
2.5 lift and 285/75/17 coopers stt pro. Crossed the Simpson Desert last year with the same. All the details are on the link in the description
blackmantiskungfu awesome - thanks for the quick reply mate, you must be an early riser!

Hey mate. What brand rear cargo tray is that and where you get it? Cheers
It's called the teraflex alta. Got it shipped from USA. North ridge I think. Back when the dollar was good. I love it.
