Between Ben’s moving the camera to show angles closer to where he’s working and Meg’s editing of the montages to the 8 count of the song, it shows how much work goes into making lovely videos. Thank you!

I'm jealous. I cant bend lift or twist due to spinal injuries, so watching your family do anything is a pleasure

    • @tjeanvlogs9894
      @tjeanvlogs9894 ปีที่แล้ว +15

Just to let you know, this can be done with a spinal cord injury. I'm a C6 high functioning incomplete. Lots of front loading, system set up, and prepping for when things go pear shaped. Cannot do the same thing the same way, but I get it done. Best tool is a pair of water resistant pants, because I spend a lot of time transferred from my chair to the ground and bum shuffling. My movable chicken coop is built on a bike trailer frame, and with a gorilla cart, can be towed behind my ultralight wheelchair. Got straps on my hand tools, have a no knead sourdough bread, can, do all the things, but my set up makes it really hard for the ambulatory. Things are too short, too narrow, too wide for those steady on their feet and otherwise set up for me the wheelchair user.
And these ambulatory can seriously mess up my day by moving my tools, parking things in my path, and otherwise not understand why I've got things set up a particular way.

@@tjeanvlogs9894 You go my dear 🤩. I’m the same way with my tools also yet not for the same reason. I recently fell & got a compression fracture on L3 & found I’d gotten a previous fracture lol. I had made
raised beds 24” high & it still gets my back. Yet I can’t wait to get my hands & feet in soil🤭

We had a gardening TV program in Australia that had a unique idea.
Plant your Garlic as you normally would, then plant quick grow seedlings in a row between the rows of garlic. for example Radishes.
The reason is that whatever you plant has to be quick grow and something that does dot remove all the soil goodness in your quick grow rows.
You should be able to get a few crops before the Garlic need to come out. It also makes weeding easier.
Also, do not plant a seedling that will compete with the garlic. for example, do not plant onions or spring onions as your "fill in" crop.

Ben a scounger after my own heart 💜 😂. My wife has gotten tired of my finds over the years but I love to find stuff and reuse it for my good. Those are some awesome tables you got and will be very useful on the farm. Keep up the good work and God bless you all

You mentioned not eating out and not even wanting to. Well, with Meg making all the foods she does there is no reason to eat anywheres elde. Not only that but you have no worries about food poisoning. Meg is one fantastic cook. You raise the food and Meg will make it taste good.

Praying everyone is feeling 100% well very soon! I see a covered outdoor kitchen processing center in your future. So happy you were gifted such a find!

    Mulch tall.
Weeds 90+% eliminated. Plus thick mulch retains moisture much longer plus it decomposes giving you compost. Plus having thick mulch you're not walking in mud when the soil is wet.

You are right and yes I always save my rain water and much with grass clippings. You are so blessed too have your children too help you with chores. And hope they know how much they are helping with the load of chores each day.

The weeding looks great! I hope Meg and the kids feel better soon. Predicting droughts is a tough job. Here in Northern California we had a flood in 2017, then hardly enough for the next 5 years. Now our lake is over full and more rain in the forecast and we're saturated. Thankful though to not have to go through more. I was worried we wouldn't have enough water to flush toilets with!😖😂

I was checking out the garlic whilst you were weeding, looking very strong with lots of leaves 🍃. I totally agree with you about feeding the fresh greens to the chooks, better health for them and their eggs, plus more nutritious fertiliser, a win/win all around. Corbin isn't his usual energetic self, still recovering, the vitamin D and being in the dirt is the best medicine. The pigs are adorable, I love how all the babies group together. Best wishes to the rest of the plague victims, drink lots of water and flush out those germs.

I put straw around my garlic, but I've noticed some squirrels have been getting in there because I see holes. I need to move the straw around a bit so I can tell for sure which of the green is garlic and which is maybe some weeds. I bought onion transplants for the first time and I need to get the weeds out of that raised bed area so I can plant them, but I'm waiting on the rain to stop. Hope you all feel better soon.

Ben, if anyone complains about weeding videos, next time show the process in 'real' time with no peppy soundtrack. 😏🤣 Hope the rest of the family feels better soon!

Using hay will add more weed seeds to your garden where straw don't have the seeds in it, if you feed to the chickens first they will eat the seeds out.
