    You can find all the Ospray advantages listed in this video in the Forclaz 500 50L model. I have one and I love it! Big confortable hip strap, cover for rain and to protect the straps, lots of room, high quality, good price. I recommend.

    • @groberti
      @groberti ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! This 40L is the wrong version to compare to the Osprey. Look at the Forclaz MT100 50L or the Quechua MH500 40L, both are more feature rich and around the same price category.

      Farpoint is better than the Porter in my opinion.
      And the Farpoint is better than the Forclaz in my opinion.
      Only down side to the Farpoint is the laptop storage location.
      But I don't pack a laptop in my travels though, so I don't care.

    I’m thinking to get the osprey because there’s no covering for the strapped.. and it’s bulky but I’m still thinking if I should because I already have the forclaz 40l.

    forclaz 100 does not have enough quick access pockets for my liking. its like a good duffle bag with good carry on straps. what if i am travelling with a laptop, and i need to access it for a while? i need to open the open the main compartment, which is too much of a hassle. osprey does much better job with the organization, and quick access pockets, but i do not like the placement of the laptop compartment. everything else is pretty much spot on.

    Hi, I'm deciding rn which one of these 2 i shall buy. i'll backpack for 1 year in asia. can you help me? i wanted to buy the osprey because its more expensive more Premium, and money is no Problem, but now it seems that the forclaz is even better though it is cheaper. Which one should i get 😭 the turtle thing also makes me fear. i'm 190cm tall and weight 70kg

    you mention the osprey is a lot more comfortable when fully loaded, is that still the case with a laptop in it with the laptop sleeve positioning issue?

    • @budget_nomad
      @budget_nomad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it would be still more comfortable but I wouldn't put a laptop in a fairpoint.

    Do any of these backpacks have a larger actual capacity in your opinion? Forclaz seems a bit smaller and narrower (?), but still has a top pocket. What are your feelings?

    • @budget_nomad
      @budget_nomad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, the Forclaz is bigger than the Opsrey. I think it maybe 45l in reality. The osprey is hard to pack to the max. It's short and much fatter. You can look like a turtle.

    • @MP-zi1vl
      @MP-zi1vl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@budget_nomad However, I've decided to buy Osprey. I love the fact that you can hide the shoulder straps (in case some stupid airline wants to take my luggage before boarding the plane). Plus, the smaller space will force me to take less stuff, which is also good. ;) Additionally, there is currently a good price on Spanish Amazon - € 40 including shipping, so it seems like a great deal. Thanks again for the video! :)

    I almost got forclaz few months ago but decided to postpone it in order to do more research. That's when I saw that so many people think that osprey is the best in the medium price range bu after seeing lots of reviews I started to notice faults in this bag. The laptop compartment definitely being the biggest put off because it doesn't provide enough support and bottle holeder! I always carry 700ml bottle and I would definitely fall off during the travel.
    I agree on looking like a turtle and all those dangling stripes are also annoying. I'd say that the forclaz is good for 1srt timers. Either that or invest in used osprey

    • @budget_nomad
      @budget_nomad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      To be fair I bought both and decided in the end to return the Osprey, it just wasn't as practical as the forclaz, it looks smaller but you can carry more. I've used as carryon luggage twice. The osprey it's a well known baggage on airlines, more chance of getting stopped.
      The forclaz is durable too.

    • @olakruk1615
      @olakruk1615 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@budget_nomad thanks for the answer! I still haven't bought either of them but if I won't manage to buy osprey for less than half of the original price I'd be happy to just take a trip to decathlon and get forclaz. I kinda worry about the material since it's a bit stiff and plastic like but I'll manage 😁
