We went to Kangaroo island last November but wimped out on taking the van, left it in Cape Jarvis and stayed in accommodation in Kingscote. What an amazing place every turn opened up another gobsmackingly beautiful view. I would go back in a heartbeat. Our first trip but definitely not our last. Thanks for reminding us how truly amazing so much of our own country is.

I lived on KI for 5 years managing the pine plantations, 20years ago. Was quiet, isolated, and needed much resilience to survive. Will go back one day with the van for a tour. Glad you could show us what it is like now. Back then we used to leave the keys in the car so we wouldn't lose them.
Loved your detailed travel blog of KI and the oysters didn't look too bad either. Been over there in our younger days but want to go again now.

We were last there 30 years ago. It’s changed so much, but still a beautifully simple life over there. You will love it with a van 😃
