I should have added that my narc mother was very dangerous. My gut instinct played a part in my husband's survival many years ago when I was newly married. I am now 79 and my husband 86. We had visited my parents in Sydney when we were on leave from PNG. One day they took us out for a drive and kept driving to spots with a high lookout and dangerous overhanging precipices. At one particular spot my mother tried to get my attention well away from the cliff drop while my husband and father were perched on the very edge, supposedly admiring the view. I sensed that my father, being the tool that he was, was ordered to push my husband over the edge. It would have been deemed an accident. I immediately got away from her and went over to them. The relief on my father's face was palpable. He didn't want to do it. My mother did not want me to be happy and was jealous of my newfound freedom. Always listen to your gut!

I don't sleep anymore because I have to watch the animals before they leave the house in the morning, during the night, and when they get off. Quit a job because of it too. My gut tells me the fluffy guys aren't safe. I don't even think my dad's a narc, he could be, but his girlfriend is HORRIBLE. And it's just the funniest thing, and I get what youre saying about not wanting you to be happy. But she's been 400lbs her whole life, and that's just what's funny to me.

how horrifying for you but you knew and saved him. And the saddest part of this story to me and is heart breaking that all these years so many years later this has haunted you and still is fresh in your mind. That terror day. hugs

@@danamama6766 Thank you. Lots of memories come flooding back from time to time, not all of them bad. I have learned that life is a learning experience from start to finish.
