I own 398/410 of this knife. Fully agree, it's soulless. Flips great, thumb flick, spydie flick and the flipper is fine. Feels great, carries great, handles well for cutting. It even looks good! But it's just lacking polish, finesse and a reason to exist. I'm not selling it though . . .
Well said indeed! It's a cool knife on a lot of levels and I would pretty darn happy if Jake said keep it (think it over Jake), but I'm not sure my feelings would ultimately change. Appreciate your honest and thoughtful comment. Enjoy #398!
You hit my issue with mine exactly. I might try to fix it by getting a modded to bark the handle and mirror stonewash the blade though. I think that'll get it out of the grey shell and shining.
Thanks very much for the kind words, makes my day!! I'm glad you enjoyed the review. It's a fine knife, but there are options out there that offer much more value, at least in my opinion. Thanks again!
@@azraelsblade Was looking at their older models. What a departure from what they have normally presented. They're going to have to spruce up their offerings for sure. And those budget looking clips. What the? We'll be seeing this limited run around for sale for a long time I suspect.
Thanks for the review. I thought of the FF Stinger right away. I bit pricey for me anyway but nice looking blade. It is a bit bland with the blade, scales , hardware and all looking so similar. Take care bro.
It's a well made knife with good materials, just wish they'd put a bit more thought into it, especially if it's gonna be a limited run and cost $200. Thanks for watching Kevin, hope you are well man!
Last year I had the same opinion about Civivi, they got super stale! Just buy one and move on to a different brand. I guess I’m still that way, I only have one Civivi now…however I am really excited for their Multitool, the Crit. I still think it’s really bizarre they made a limited run, maybe they also felt like it wasn’t an exciting design so they just tested the water with it. Great quality, great material, snoozer design….hmmm very conflicting
I agree man... I think it's hard because I am a WE fan, but maybe I'm more of a fan of what WE used to be, which was a bit more daring and quirky, but still a premium manufacturer. I can give Civivi more latitude as it's the more budget friendly brand, but WE should be higher level in materials, build AND design. Regardless, thanks for letting me check it out!
This is one WE knife that appeals to me. I don't usually like the bland style of knives nor do I much like framelocks or titanium at all but this is one I'd like to own. I'm not sure if it's because of how much I enjoy my little odium or what but I'm going to try pick one up as we have a couple here in aus. Good review though and agree on the bland thing. I'm just a little backwards here haha
the blade has much character, love the harpoon and the thumb hole, but i get your criticism, the handle is really vanilla looking. i liked the fornix, but not enough to keep it in my collection😂 we needs to be a bit more bold with their designs, many of their newer knives are kinda "meh" and i hate that they use the same cheap looking stamped clip over and over again, makes their knives even more unrecognisable.
Definitely agree on the clips... I can accept that on Civivi, but WE is the premium brand, shouldn't be cutting corners there. WE has a history of offering different and unique designs... unfortunately they've gone a bit vanilla, probably to appeal to a wider audience, which I understand from a business standpoint, but I miss the charm of their older style (even kinda miss the star hardware). Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have felt this way about Civivi for a few months now as well. Sure it's all well made and works well but it's very lifeless. Maybe it's because We and Civivi rose the bar high and fast that now it's harder to be impressed by their stuff, but also feels like they are just on this pump a crap ton of models out super fast that nothing feels thought about.
I agree Kevin. I really do think they are so prolific they've just over saturated their segment of the market, especially when you combine the Bestechs amd QSPs etc. Thanks for watching man!
Have been a fan of We knives for some time now. Their offerings in their latest lineup are so bland and uninspiring that I'm looking more at their older models that I don't have as well as other brands. Their Civivi brand has gotten more attention from me. It is what it is.
Yeah I mean they took kind of a very generic look and just put a harpoon on the blade it's meh. There's literally at least a dozen knives out there with that profile. And as far as I'm concerned that's kind of where the hobby is at right now there are so many knives out there that look very similar that it doesn't matter if they're made well there's nothing exciting about them.
I tend to agree John. Not a lot happening out there that's super exciting... it's the end of the year, I guess, stuff slows down, but, like you, generally feeling meh. I think maybe it's the intense proliferation of models from so many manufacturers that's making the market feel overly saturated. 🤷♂️ Really appreciate you checking out the review despite all that. Lol.

Those mods would really add some of what this knife needs (deserves)! Really appreciate you checking out the review and for commenting!
Wow. Great job. Very perceptive and honest. I'm a budget guy so this is out of my price range but I got a lot out of your review. Thanks.

Thank you for a very honest review. Have a great weekend Brad.
Thanks my friend! Try to just share how I feel on whatever I'm reviewing. You enjoy your weekend as well! Have a cold Castle for me!
Will do.
Plain simple and well executed. I can see what you mean about the knife being soulless. Just nothing special. Great review Brad 👍
Grind off the ‘poon, satin the blade, skip the lanyard hole, swap in a milled clip, and do some awesome anodization on the handle and it might work…
Maybe like dragonscale milling on the handle..
@@azraelsblade Yeah! Do something for $200.
@@BAtadCrazy for “a limited run” this is hardly a show piece. WE should’ve flexed like mad on this.

Hi. This a family channel, no fornixhating. ( Say it fast, you will understand) Sorry Brad, i couldn´t resist.😂😂 All the best

@@mildmannerededc absolutely agree with all points!👍
Yeah! Those pocket clips. What the flip?
Great review Brad I agree with it being kinda plain
Reminds me of the Civivi Riffle.
Funny, I kinda thought it was a mix between the Riffle and the Backlash. Definitely has WE/Civivi DNA. Thanks for watching man!

Anyone known if Civivi has a similar model? Like the profile but it's outta my price range.
Soulless? It's knife which Vladimir Harkonnen from Dune would carry. Or his soldiers.
