Even though Bill Cosby has a tarnished reputation, I dont think it should take away from the great work done on The Cosby Show, its a terrific sitcom and should have been on this list.
Sanford and Son as it was my dad’s favorite sitcom. It aired during the initial stages of the surge of black sitcoms and I hope they don't reboot or remake it.
I much prefer Betty White as Sue Ann Nivens. Please make a part 2 list for even more classic sitcoms that should be watched. I think the "Dick Van Dyke Show", "Family Ties", "Dad's Army", "Blackadder", and "Only Fools and Horses" should make the next list.
MASH is on CMT. Laverne and Shirley is on Deja View channel. Cheers is also CMT and Deja View. Mary Tyler Moore is on Deja View. Golden Girls is on Comedy Central Classics. I Love Lucy is on Deja View.
Different Strokes should've at least got an honorable mention. Not only was it a great sitcom, but it also taught important life lessons such as the dangers of hitchhiking.
Kate & Allie - two recently divorced women who share an apartment & co-parent their three kids, Kate's daughter Emma, and Allie's daughter Allison & her son Chip. It's now streaming on Roku. One Day at a Time, which inspired the recent reboot, with newly divorced Ann Romano raising her two daughters Julie and Barbara & working in advertising.
I don't disagree with any of these. In fact, I own most of them on DVD. There are probably a hundred others that could be on this list. You can't please everyone.
I feel that Designing Women should be on this list instead of Golden Girls as almost everyone I know has been watching Golden Girls forever in recent years and nobody really talks about Designing Women which Golden Girls stole a lot of content from. And I’m a fan of both. Also? Who HASN’T seen I Love Lucy?
British humor typically falls flat with Americans. I might have had Are You Being Served, Black Adder or even Monty Python's Flying Circus on this list
All in the Family and Maude was all about trashing a particular party, week after week after annoying week. The Jeffersons got away with racial humor week after week after annoying week. MASH lost it's soul and my viewership after McLean Stevenson and Wayne Rogers left the show. I wasn't attached to those two actors, the series just became about Alan Alda being miserable and griping about EVERYTHING.

The golden girls is such a great show ❤❤❤

WKRP In Cincinnati was the best.

All in the Family is the best sitcom along with I Love Lucy
Designing Women was a favorite.

Cheers got me through Lockdown
The Odd Couple, TAXI, Bob Newhart, The Honeymooners, ….
Just started watching Golden Girls for the first time since I was a child in the 90s
What? No Silver Spoons?
I don't disagree with any of these. In fact, I own most of them on DVD. There are probably a hundred others that could be on this list. You can't please everyone.
What? No Lancelot Link - Secret Chimp?

Leave it to Beaver...can't believe you had The Andy Griffith Show as just an honorable mention.
Taxi. Welcome back kotter. Happy days.
it have been good to add links where to watch these shows online..
It’s these shows of the past that worked better with a laugh track
The Cosby Show erasure breaks my heart 😢. Damn you Bill Cosby
First comment!!!!! This is a fantastic list!!!
Because the only classic sitcoms are American??
Oh wait, Fawlty Towers managed to get an honourable mention.
PLEASE!
British humor typically falls flat with Americans. I might have had Are You Being Served, Black Adder or even Monty Python's Flying Circus on this list
I suggested they add "Dad's Army:, and I'm American. I love that show.
@@ryanironheart4154 Should have been a list of 'Top 10 Classic American Sitcoms That You Should Watch'
WKRP in Cincinnati
How you put MASH in but not Hogam Heroes or the Addams Family in..not to mention the Munsters.
Barney Miller?!
Happy thursday night (and halloween) Kirsten, take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
