Great vid, really enjoyed it! PC Engine by far my favorite system, I've been collecting since getting my first one from Telegames in Leicester in 1988! Just to let you know, reason Zero 4 wouldn't run is because you've the wrong bios card. The disc is a super CD as denoted in top right corner of game front cover and your system card isn't. The charming screen you got is one of many different screens that appear if you try booting games with the wrong bios card. Vol 1 and 2 cards don't have enough Ram to play Super CD games, you either need a vol 3 card or CD game that doesn't need either Super CD or Arcade CD card. Confusing I know, but it's all part of the systems charm I promise! A good way to test out your current card is with an audio CD that will bring up the bios inbuilt audio player. I'm fairly sure its all working though from whats in video, so get burning a copy of US version Ys 1+2, Gates and Lords of Thunder ect, maybe get a Everdrive, and enjoy this amazing systems awesome library!
Hey, thanks for the comment! I do these mostly unscripted so a new system is always a learning curve. I did spot the 'Super CD-ROM' logo on the CD after I'd finished recording and had packed everything away. So instead of re-recording the honest video, I lef tthe mistake in and I did a small update in the very next video explaining exactly that and with a chinese clone 'Everdrive' to boot! Love the system and since then I've had a few more controllers delivered and a multi tap, so all my friends and family can enjoy what is an absolutely amazing system! I am a big convert to it and gutted it took me so long before finding out about them :(
Great video mate, really enjoyed it. its all your fault however that I have just accepted an offer on a very simliar "faulty" setup :) Hopefully I have as good a luck as you
lol, I'm hearing that more often! Though I do have to say they are amazing systems. Can't believe they didn't take off more. And R-Type is brilliant IMHO :)
Brilliant =D PC Engines come out super super clean just after a soak in TAED! Such a lovely machine and the condition of the PCE and CD-ROM-ROM came out great so far! PS: If you want a replacement gear for the CD-ROM drive let me know, I have some from Dennis!
I was stunned when I saw what some elbow grease and sunbrighting did to them both! Absolutely love the machine and am very imopressed. Yeah, he sent me a spare too just in case!

Cool vintage 👍
Cheers! Yes, particularly fond of the PCEngine now I have one :)
Time to upgrade that microphone my friend. Your videos will be much more enjoyable.
It's odd as not a cheap setup! I see a lot using the RODE ones but they look so clunky. Will have a look and see what else is out there.
