This is one of the best guests bill has ever had - he went head to head with bill & they both managed to make it interesting, have their own opinions & showed that bill doesn't need his ass kissed to enjoy the guest - smart, fast paced & informative - loved it!!!
Wonderful start w bills infamous recurring interruptions: Guest starts a story. Bill starts fidgeting and losing focus then finds the earliest opportunity to barge in (seconds in) w a worthless question like; “ok when was this?” (Dismissively) then somehow pulls out of his ass how story somehow relates to him then completely dismissed and bypasses and continues talking about himself again.
Love ya Bill but Rainn you sure held your own. The brash and polite… I felt like I was watching NY vs Midwest. I’m happy we have different opinions! Thank you USA, we have it ALL, literally! Oh how boring life would be if we didn’t. 😉♥️🇺🇸
Hilarious that when Ice Cube was on Bill made a big deal out of the fact that Ice Cube came to the podcast 15 minutes early and thanked him profusely. So this week Rainn shows up 5 minutes late and Bill complains about it not just once, but twice 😂
Finally! A guest that made Bill sthu! Ugh…he just interrupts so much & doesn’t slow his guests to finish their thought. Rainn is a brilliant guy & super interesting. Really enjoyed this podcast.
I have the same problem of cutting people off, especially when I get excited, with a diagnosed excuse / reason for that; but realizing that it was degrading the quality of my relationships caused me to work really hard on it. ...and the work continues into my forties. If you were talking to me, I might have told you this in the middle of your sentence, but I tried not to. Thank you both for an interesting conversation with different intelligent people from very different perspectives in different conditions. It's great when different people w/ different ideas come together, or at the saem time. ... sometimes.
I went under hypnosis one time and then I woke up with Bill Maher staring at me saying "You're the liberal now not Me ! No wait I am the liberal ! You changed !" Then I pi$$ed my pants and was charged $800
In the top of guests because he is authentic, honest, not guarded. Really truly interesting informed informative insightful uplifting and serious discourse & fun, funny. Special episode. Much appreciated to both big hearts big brains big spirits! Loved these fellow Aquarians having deep real time together including done edge!
It's funny when I see two fantastic comedians that just can't even fake getting along. Fitting that even in his podcast Bill can't be fake, not even a little.
I think what's interesting is that they are both opinionated and not afraid of conflict in conversation. But they are also very different when it comes to ideology and world view, especially concerning spirituality. And they are both funny. So it's an interesting dynamic, because Rainn can stand up to Bill, who can be blunt and pessimistic. But Maher can also keep Rainn down to earth.
I have enjoyed this conversation. 😂 My daughter’s birthday is January 20th. I know it’s David Lynch’s because I am a huge fan of his. I have loved watching Bill Maher & Rain Wilson for years, but I guess I didn’t check out their birthdays. Definitely throw money at our environmental issues. The right strategy and execution is where things can get lost. I like how Bill just walks out on his guest. “I gotta go.” …could be his new outro. 🤣
Rainn's views on Succession are entirely accurate. Succession and Ozark both show a change in our culture where happy endings and flawed people who end up better are no longer things we can believe. They are like believing in Santa Claus at this point. Ozark also looked down on Christianity or conservatism, and all of the intelligent people were inherently progressives. But in both shows your "heroes" aren't heroes, and couldn't have happy endings.
There was a time when Hollywood went for too many Happy endings especially on TV, but I feel like The Sopranos started an annoying trend when everyone has to become a bigger piece of s@@@ and everything needs to be dark or gritty. That works for some shows but I would like to see more of a balance and less anti-heroes.

That's what she said...I live the life of an office worker ..its makes me still laugh and get through the drama of a real drama..love Dwight...
Kudos to Rainn for telling Bill "I'm not done!". And anyone reading this needs to watch the movie Permenant. So good.
This should have been longer, Rainn is awesome
I’m 42 and I’ve known who James Woods is for about 25 years. Anybody who doesn’t should be ashamed of themselves
Bill has been in a *shaking his cane and shouting to the sky* kinda vibe for a while now.
Also Yelling: GET OFF MY LAWN 😅
At least he's not proclaiming that God is on his side
Bring him back for part 2!!! I love your dynamic together.. great episode
Wonderful start w bills infamous recurring interruptions:
Guest starts a story.
Thank you, gentlemen!!!
Rainn??? A copy of your book will be MINE!
Best,
Jimmy James
Nice to see Dwight on Club Random!
Love ya Bill but Rainn you sure held your own. The brash and polite… I felt like I was watching NY vs Midwest. I’m happy we have different opinions! Thank you USA, we have it ALL, literally! Oh how boring life would be if we didn’t. 😉♥️🇺🇸
wonderful comment
I'm looking forward to hearing Rainn talk about this on another podcast.
Bill, everything Rain said about your value is felt by many. Miss Real Time. Great talk, one of my favorite guests so far.
This is the first episode I’ve seen in full, what an incredible human experience and at the end how crazy that they have the same birthdate !
Hilarious that when Ice Cube was on Bill made a big deal out of the fact that Ice Cube came to the podcast 15 minutes early and thanked him profusely. So this week Rainn shows up 5 minutes late and Bill complains about it not just once, but twice 😂
I also ran home to catch The Office. It was such a phenominal show. 😁
The Office was mediocre.
@@RocStarr913 False.
Rainn Wilson is one of the best humans ever.
Love this guest.
Smart, funny, interesting.
and kind
@@wong5150that’s important. I wish more people valued that.
Like JACK OSBORNE 😅
Imagine Trump coming on this podcast
@@cadillac23jc Thought Long & HARD on that Response? LOL
Gonna HAPPEN... LOL
Finally! A guest that made Bill sthu! Ugh…he just interrupts so much & doesn’t slow his guests to finish their thought. Rainn is a brilliant guy & super interesting. Really enjoyed this podcast.
Finally someone willing to tell Bill to shut the f up and listen to his guest. BRAVO Rainn !
My man shows up late, comes on a week after Cube, mispronounces "Maher" to his face totally sober and fucking owns the show. Mad respect
He got owned and seemed weak and defensive I thought
In the top of guests because he is authentic, honest, not guarded. Really truly interesting informed informative insightful uplifting and serious discourse & fun, funny. Special episode. Much appreciated to both big hearts big brains big spirits! Loved these fellow Aquarians having deep real time together including done edge!
I love these fellow Aquarians too... maybe because I'm one also!
@@kimbrown5024 Aquarians really like other Aquarians no matter if they disagree which I have experienced in life & this was shown in this episode.
It's funny when I see two fantastic comedians that just can't even fake getting along. Fitting that even in his podcast Bill can't be fake, not even a little.
Dwight Schute ranks as one of the funniest characters in all of television.
He's not ahead of Al Bundy, Butt-head, or Kramer though.
@skiprockjr.6881 that's a tough one. Comparing different bottles of lightning.

Another great monologue from Bill.
Fun conversation! Love that you had Rainn on! Bears, beets, Battlestar Gallicta!
I have enjoyed this conversation. 😂
My daughter’s birthday is January 20th.
Thanks for sharing 😊
feel like being on bill’s podcast is like hanging around a drunk relative and waiting for them to stop talking so you can leave 😂
Great fun, shout out to Rainn for standing on his own 2 feet infront of Bill's rudeness
🥰🥰 Bill makes me so happy!! Ditto what Rainn Wilson said at the end about you Bill!!! You Rock!!!
No such thing as good and bad people - we are all flavors of both .
@@brianmeen2158 We are all flawed people with our negative aspects, but there definitely are good and bad people.
We typically even have specific labels for their behavior such as sociopaths or even psychopaths, but it's not limited to those.
People with certain addictions can also be bad people. Not every heroin addict robs their family blind, but most do.
Not every murderer is motivated by personal gain. One of my best friends is a murderer, but he's a good guy. Today he's a nurse.
I so enjoyed this and laughed so much! This has to be one of your best podcast so far! Thanks! 😂
Rainn tells Bill off at 45:10
Bill I know you don't read your comments but maybe the people who work for you do. MY ears perked up when I heard you say BUY THE RAINFOREST. The person you need to ask on is Pau Rosolie, a New Jersey born n bred guy like you, who is huge on the rainforest and knows it like the back of his hand.He would love to work with you to get celebrities to buy the rainforest wfor the benefit of the world at Large and for posterity.
If you want to get a taste for what Paul Rosolie is like, all you need to do is to Google Lex Friedman and Paul and you will find a recent podcast where they talk for 2 to 3 hour. It was fantastic.
Actually Bill, this could be your TRUE legacy if you can get this to happen. Please do it😊
Oops typo. IT'S PAUL ROSOLIE
Rainn Wilson is one cool character. Bill thinks that's him but he's actually the opposite. I hope Rainn gave him his therapist's number. Lol!
Bill actually asked Jon Hamm for his therapists' number but he probably thought it would get him laughs so...
@@susans654 yeah, he's too smart for therapy, lol!
Redbar covered this podcast episode so well. Rainn is quite the character, to say the least 😂
Love Rainn Detest Maher.
He’s absolutely right about Bill Maher constantly interrupting his guests.
Like James Woods being nice to kids and then shooting them when the robbery goes bad. 🤣 James Woods is my absolute favorite actor.
Salvador.
Woods is a stud and loves to hand Hollywood its ass. He’d be a great guest on Bills show
He's become a partisan hack though. He's not discerning.

Sounds more like Another Day in Paradise to me. I want to see that again.
Club Random, my friend you have done it again. Thoroughly enjoyable subjects as always. Mr. Rainn Wilson thank you, the uplifting things you are saying have given me some hope. I have been carrying a heavy load of emotional torment. Take care!
