There is no choir that sings any better than this. i m a Catholic, raised Baptist and love the Tabernacle Choir. I’ve been to Salt Lake City to see them twice, talked with missionaries took a temple tour and visited the conference center and the family history library. And I fell at the feet of my savior, and promised I’d never leave him again until,I see him face to face. Thank you Choir! The Holy Spirit works through your music. ❤️ I listen to you songs every day and look forward to your broadcast each week.
I sang the Arabic version of this one time with my friend, who is Muslim. We both grinned the whole time and loved that we had common ground in a belief of God the Father and His beautiful creations. I never tell someone their beliefs are wrong, instead I find what we have in common and celebrate that. Every religion is more connected than they first seem, we all share more beliefs than we know. Don't tear others down for their faith, love them and build them up. ❤
As a Muslim who's been looking into Christian and Jewish culture quite a lot I can agree with this. In terms of songs of praise and worship, Christian Jewish and Muslim worship and praise songs have a lot in common. The concepts most frequent that I note are asking forgiveness, exalting God as the King of kings, praising His greatness etc. This is especially apparent when you translate Christian stuff into Arabic or Muslim stuff into English, people just realise 'oh, it's the same subject matter'.
1All creatures of our God and King, Lift up your voice and with us sing, Alleluia! Alleluia! Thou burning sun with golden beam, Thou silver moon with softer gleam, Alleluia! Alleluia! [Chorus] Alleluia! Oh, praise Him! Alleluia! 2. Thou rushing wind that art so strong, Ye clouds that sail in heav’n along, Alleluia! Alleluia! Thou rising morn, in praise rejoice; Ye light of evening, find a voice, Alleluia! Alleluia! [Chorus] Alleluia! Oh, praise Him! Alleluia! 3. Thou flowing water, pure and clear, Make music for thy Lord to hear, Alleluia! Alleluia! Thou fire so masterful and bright, That gives to man both warmth and light, Alleluia! Alleluia! [Chorus] Alleluia! Oh, praise Him! Alleluia! 4. Dear Mother Earth, who day by day Unfoldest blessings on our way, Alleluia! Alleluia! The flow’rs and fruits that in thee grow, Let them his glory also show, Alleluia! Alleluia! [Chorus] Alleluia! Oh, praise Him! Alleluia!
They used one of the more usual/traditional English versions/translations. (Minus the last couple of verses at the end but that's okay.) (Up to seven verses total can be found in some hymnals.)
In my family we have: Mormons, Roman Catholics, Presbyterians, Unitarians, Baptists, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and a Taoist. We all get along together because we accept each individuals right to come unto God in accordance with the dictates of their own conscience. Enjoy the music whether or not you believe what Mormons believe. We love listening to choirs from other denominations singing their respective hymns as well.
Love this song. It reminds me of when our family drove across Australia for three weeks. Most mornings we set out early and would sing this song together while watching the morning light sending welcoming rays along God's great creation. Alleluia, Oh praise Him!
When I was a small child, I would sometimes attend church with my grandmother, and I recall this hymn from that time. Is that why it's about my favorite hymn? Or is the sheer musical majesty of it? Or the deep spiritual rush I feel upon hearing it? .... no matter, this is a majestic piece of music, inspired by God, that reminds us of God, and draws us closer to Him.
All of the above. Sometimes it seems to me that this came direct from the Light. ⭐🌟⭐ (Not necessarily even only any one specific religion. All of them.) Words adapted from words written by St. Francis of Assisi about "Brother sun and sister moon". 🌞 🌕
Today is a feast day of St Francis. The beautiful choir of EWTN sang this hymn today as the closing hymn. Happy feast day to all lovers of St Francis❣️✝️😇
This was one of my baptismal hymns. It has been 6 months now since I joined the church and I am so grateful every day for the blessings I receive. I chose this one as it encompasses all that Heavenly Father created for us to bring us joy. Hallelujah.
I am so very happy for you! It is truly a wonderful and glorious thing to be a part of! Sometimes the church will do something amazing, and it makes you feel like you are part of something big, it makes your heart swell with joy and purpose! I am so glad you can feel this way too dear stranger 😁
I had an amazing experience this past week. My great Aunt past away, and at her funeral I have discovered God. What a joyous time to be alive. Praise be the lord for I am with you, my aunt has come home. Celebrate this soul of 95 blessed years and sing choirs of angels to the quadrillions of miles to the heavenly cosmos!
Or maybe just a song they sing on a casual day. And the song they sing when going to Heaven is even better! (Im not saying this song isnt super awsome)
Hymn written for (and about) all creatures of our God and King... not only Catholics or Mormon or Lutherans or Christians, etc. Ants, too, can exclaim, "We're in!" Great great rendition!
Differences are what makes this world blessed. However in all things we decide to do we ask God of it's truthfulness and blessings in the most sincere prayers.
Me too. Thank you for saying. We all have our own flaws and virtues. All are pure and true at heart, each in his/her own way. ❤️💙❤️💙❤️ Love all. ❤️💙❤️💙❤️
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Tonight (November 21), I attended a wedding at my church. We sang this during the wedding.
I find it amazing how our beloved church brings together all believers and non believers every year no matter what we believe about each other. It drowns out our haters. The truth of Jesus Christ always chases away evil. This truly is Gods church.
even with this pamdemic i have always feel comforted with this song!! All creatures of the Earth we have to sing this song Praise him all day all night He is mighty his love is unconditional
I have a testimony that our savior Jesus Christ lives and watches over are families everything we do together I also would like the whole world to know that God's kingdoms are wonderful I have always followed the holy ghost in my everyday life and he has always reviled a special light that beams in God's kingdom everyday and lives with me in my everyday life. God has brought me closer to the person I love everyday and I am happy and proud to that he has brought back intolerance her life she special to me and th one I want to be with her forever And get married in God's temple to someone special the most
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) have many hymns which originated in other churches. If the words don't contradict our doctrine we welcome, revere, and love those beautiful, traditional hymns. You might want to peruse our hymn book sometime. I came from a Protestant (Methodist, EUB, Church of Christ, Baptist) background, and I was delighted to find so many of the hymns in the LDS hymn book that were familiar to me from when I attended/belonged to the denominations.
I have always loved that. I think we can always be inspired by the work of others. I also love that in the hymn book. the church the music comes from is written on the page. Credit is given to the faith, or church it came from. Thank you all who make such magic with their talents.
One of the great Christian songs-beautiful uplifting tender- heartfelt and compassionate. Inspires one to God. Everyone loves it. Can't go wrong w words from Blessed St. Francis.
I am planning my funeral music. It is the last chance I will have to leave a message to those I love. Nothing gory about it. I love these old hymns which are appearing lost to the modern world. Thank you for Morman Choir.
Another great hymn from probably the world's best voices bless by our Almighty Christ the Lord ! Your love is in your voices & had thus brought joy to the world irregardless of believes ! Praise the Lord !
They are open to the public. Nothing beats seeing them live. I saw their Pioneer's Day concert and their Chrismas concert last year. Unforgettable experiences :)
This brings back many memories. What a wonderful song that sadly seems lost to the past of liturgical music. I was somewhat surprised to know that this is a Mormon choir - however why not! What a beautiful rendition and great choir work! Thanks for this.
