So excited for your videos! Like you said I’m currently in that position of trying to get into law school and you’re such an inspo! Fingers and toes crossed to be at Ryerson Law next year
Thank you for watching and for your kind words! Hoping to see you at Ryerson Law next year. Definitely stay tuned for more videos that may be helpful to you and your journey to law school ☺️
How much reading is involved with law school? I heard it’s an INSANE amount.. but i feel like most university programs have reading. Would love to know your thoughts
Mike Ross skipped all of that don’t we all wish we could do that haha. In all seriousness nice video, I’m an undergrad Poli science student who’s interested in pursuing law so it’s great to see law related content out there that gives me an inside look into what occurs on a daily basis. Seems intensive and tough but it’s all a part of the journey and I’m looking forward to seeing more videos from you in the future! Best of Luck!
Nice video, this is so cool.... I'm intending to embark on my masters degree at the University of Toronto. I would really appreciate if you advice on how to go about it. I was checking the faculty of law portal and I guess i need deeper insights and explanations from someone who's already in the system. Love the video! I have a question. If somebody becomes a lawyer and they face some kind of a conflict, like divorce, are they able to be their own lawyer and represent them self? Or do they still have to hire another lawyer?
Hey Ricardo! Every week, per course, there's approximately 50-100 pages of reading (sometimes more). My schedule varies but I prioritize the courses that are earlier in the week and the courses where I know I'll be cold-called or participation is important. Overall, a lot of reading but it's impossible to get through it all - I had to learn how to prioritize and skim.
Lawyers lie all the time. They talk about laws and such. One thing you never hear them talk about is section 32 of the Charter of rights and freedoms. As most people have heard the charter is the supreme law. What you haven't heard is it applies to the government, not the people. This means all law in Canada is meant for the government, they do not have the authority to make laws controlling the people. I have pasted it here for you to read for yourself. Section 32 - Application of Charter 32. (1) This Charter applies: to the Parliament and government of Canada in respect of all matters within the authority of Parliament including all matters relating to the Yukon Territory and Northwest Territories; and to the legislature and government of each province in respect of all matters within the authority of the legislature of each province. Exception (2) Notwithstanding subsection (1), section 15 shall not have effect until three years after this section comes into force. The purpose of section 32 is to make it clear that the Charter only applies to governments, and not to private individuals, businesses or other organizations. Subsection 32(2) was necessary to give governments a chance to amend their laws to bring them into line with equality rights. Section 15 of the Charter did not come into force until three years after the rest of the Charter became effective on April 17, 1982.
I have a cousin who never studied much,we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than studies after writing LSAT, she passed and I failed😣, I asked her how she did it, just found out she got her help from Mr Thomas ..
I did a Bachelors of Commerce degree with a major in Law and Business (I wanted a backup just in case law school didn't work out so I didn't want a Bachelor of Arts degree). But you don't need to major in anything law-related to get into law school! Major in something you like and that you can exceed in.
@@ridhey5635 Hi I did my LLB from University of Delhi, I know going LLMCL is a good option in Canada, but I heard that finding an articling and opportunities through JD or General LLM are better, when compared through LLMCL. I hope you can suggest me on this.

Hey hi ,I'm law student and I want to immigrate ,if you have time may I ask you some questions? Honestly I don't know that much person to ask these questions. Thank you 🙏

Hey @Ridhey I’m from India (9th grader) and i want to do further law studies in canada after ,12th... Plz can you make a video on how to become lawyer in canada.. and how to manage you study visa with it too.... It’ll be very helpful plz help me...
you will need some undergraduate experience. usually 3 years is minimum, but some schools will accept 2 years. Usually, law schools do recommend that you finish your undergraduate degree.
Hi I know this is kinda personal question so no need to answer, I was just wondering how you manage to pay for law school and also being able to live comfortably in your own condo? What do you recommend to someone who is aspiring to be a lawyer but is wondering how to be able to afford to live, and pay for school, (do you have another job to pay for anything?)
Hi! Managing money is definitely something to think about as a law student. I worked throughout my undergrad and had a gap year before I started law school where I was able to save money. Between savings and loans, I am able to live on my own. You pose a difficult question because everyone's situation is different. Some people choose to work while in school, but I knew I wouldn't be able to do that at least for my first year of law school so I had to learn to be comfortable with taking on some debt. I think the key is to make a financial plan for yourself and outline all of the related expenses and how you plan to handle those expenses. It is very common to take on debt in law school so try not to let that scare you. The best thing you can do is have a plan for how to tackle all of the expenses. Hope this helps!
Hey, I am from India and will be soon immigrating to Canada for my law education. Can you please tell me the complete process from beginning to ending for getting a law degree in Canada? And could you please elaborate about LSAT exam too?
heyy from india , as indian law student who aspires to settle in canada one day . i wanted to ask about the lawyers life in canada ? do lawyers get time for them-self , or they are just working 6 days a week? xd
Hi Arjun! I'm still in my first year of law school so I can't say for certain how life is like as a lawyer (yet). However, I've met various lawyers/ legal professionals who have completely different lifestyles and schedules. It all depends on where you decide to work. It might be different working for a startup versus working for a big corporate firm for example. Hope this helps!
Hi, I want to study law in canada. As an arts students, my majors were history and geography in 12th standard ( passed out in 2021). I have got my canadian study visa for tourism and travel management as it was much for relevant to my profile to get a visa. However, after reaching Canada , I want to change my program and to study law. So please help me to pursue my dream. What should I do? Do I need to do bachelor's ( BAin law major) or any post secondary diploma could work to get into a law school after clearing my LSAT exam in canada
I've seen this in alot of places that you need to have a bachelor's degree of any subject to study law in USA , Canada etc. Is it true and if so could you suggest some courses?
Why are you behaving with entitlement? Why do you believe that you should have the right to defend the monarchy? Note: This is a question of self-reflection; there is no need to respond, because you “can’t study law with chapped lips”.
I'm starting law school in UBC this upcoming fall and this is actually making me so excited, even though it's so much work lol

You can represent your self even if you are not a lawyer.
i dont recommend it tho because u wont see your case as a proper lawyer would since its your case
Fun fact: Your professors name Mogyoros means hazelnut in Hungarian.
If anyone can aswer plz I want to go to law school but don't know if I can become a lawyer in Toronto if I am wearinng a hijab thank you btw☺️☺️

Please does anyone know who this Mr Thomas is? I really need to speak with him I’m frustrated.
Hi Ridhey, what camera and tripod do you use?
Hi Kevin! I shot this video entirely on my iPhone x. For all my other videos I use DJI Osmo Pocket 2.
