Also Archeology can't really prove anything if all the evidence is destroyed in a flood. So why are they at odds it's not falsifiable so not really science.
Graham is very sure in some things he should not be, but I’m Pretty sure Flint still takes the trophy on that one. Graham isn’t out here slandering other researchers individually, calling them racists and white supremacists, or calling his work “real archeology” in relation to anyone the slightly disagrees with him or his daddy’s work.

Every time I see the name "Flint Dibble" I can't help but think he's actually a fictitious character... and I'm always shocked when I remember he is not.

In fact he's stated in his own video talking about the debate with Flint that he uses archaeologically as a step to find what he's interested in. He looks where the archeologists don't. He believes they ignore important information, that's all. Flint had to lie in the debate multiple times to try and discredit Graham. I'd rather listen to Graham who is honest about his beliefs than Flint who's a liar and cancel culturist.

No one archeologist is saying the prevailing theories are the only ones that matter, and that new ideas shouldn’t be considered. They accept and actually proved the existence of the younger dryas. But theories based on 3000+ year old myths and the very broad coincidences are on no way the same level as theories that provide actual evidence.
Science is business and highly influenced by external pressures. As time goes on science is becoming more and more like a moralistic religion. Of course, this is just my opinion. I also believe that science has somewhat of an adversarial structure. The thing I find really interesting is the emergence of opposition to some of Darwin’s theory.
Because they are just grasping at straws to discredit him. So they use common buzzwords like "racist" or "misogynist" because they know people will latch on to those words without doing any of their own research on who Hancock actually is.

Dibble cited various studies - but cherry picked and mislead. His claim about the shipwreck mapping was entirely based on a UNESCO estimate - not physical shipwrecks. Dibble was very good at sounding smart, at face value - but he was not accurate. The one thing that I noticed that it's different between these two men is that Graham always couches his theories with words like "could have, or might have" Dibble often uses terms like "we know". which one is more scientific ?
Exactly. Graham has always been open to possibilities and doesn't lie to try and prove a point or win an argument. He's always been honest and acted in good faith.
@@ZeekoRamen Good faith? Whenever given a chance he derides an entire community of scientists and accuses them of gatekeeping or being jealous of his platform. He said for years no one would debate him when he knew Dibble would but Dibble had gotten cancer, he even made a remark implying Dibble might be lying about being sick to get out of a debate. His first response to Dibble after 6 months wasn't to try to disprove his ideas and the research he had but to call him dishonest and accuse him of intentionally trying to mislead the audience.

Probably. Randall, Graham, and the like are the only ones looking into anything. Look at the melting of the ice caps. Hundreds of feet of soil(and anything in it) gone. But plenty of obvious signs people weren’t what archeologists claim. Under water cities thought to be myth and on and on. Too many coincidences within the astronomical designs not to look at. “Indigenous” people even claiming they found places. Obviously signs they tried to rebuild without the ability to do it correctly. Honestly, since we were not there, most claims are theory. Even if it’s based on current knowledge. Turkey is obviously evidence they are incorrect. Everything is older.

I find it interesting how when people dug a bit deeper on the Hancock vs Dibble episode of JRE, they found Flint Dibble had lied and misrepresented tons of graphs and slides, further diminishing archeology’s take as compared to Graham Hancock. Should’ve know a boy in his dads suit wasn’t on the up and up.
Graham's message is probably often overwhelming for the average person to handle. This is likely due to Graham's many insights gained through his psychedelic experiences, which many cannot relate to. I also believe that, as a person, he was/is not prepared for the attention he has received in such a short time.
Incorrect. Having explored many psychedelic drugs and experiences - Graham's message is simply boring. It is fanciful, and fun. However, there is 0 evidence for his major claims, as he admitted on Rogan. The ancient civilization that taught multiple other ancient peoples various things left behind no trace? Graham has had attention for decades now, as he has been a popular author for decades. Sure, it's more attention now, but that's because it was under some scrutiny. His ideas are fun - but they are also nothing new. Most of his ideas were already proposed in the past. There are more interesting things to find out/gain from following the bleeding-edge of what is going on in archeology - as opposed to listening to Graham trot out the same stories he's been telling for 30 years now. They are not overwhelming ideas.

Weird because Graham goes over all of the things Flint lied about on his own channel in an hour long video. Flint tried winning the debate, while not caring about what was true.
It is funny how Graham feels Archeologists are territorial. Imagine you heading down to the emergency room and telling off all the doctors and professionals their methods are wrong and they should do it your way. If not, they are ignorant and not open minded.
As with any profession that requires a number of years at school. Maybe I should go visit my electrician friend at work and tell him that I know a really amazing better way of doing it.

Should've seen it coming though, if you listen to the conversation with Ed Barnhart you'll quickly realize he's [Lex] bought into Grahams fantasy. The ayahuasca is messing with them all, they seem uncapable of seeing that you can have hallucinogenic experience and have spiritual or otherwise esoteric beliefs without believing in cosmic psychic Atlanteans. The difference is between facts and beliefs. Dibble presents facts and Hancock presents his beliefs. In their debate Hancock outright says those are his beliefs and feelings and that nothing that has been found supports his theory. There is no need to discredit Hancok for investigating but his views are not based on what we are able to observe.
It was an unbalanced debate. You could tell Dibbler was more experienced defending and presenting his work and ideas. He was very skillful in steering the debate to an “academic format” where you regularly present your work in an environment where they scrutinize every finding, evidence, data, research method, methodology, etc. The way he presented reminded me of a job talk for a teaching position or a conference panel member/presenter. For me, that’s one of the reasons Hancock appeared so ill prepared and out of depth. Having said that, I think that suggesting that Hancock is racist or purposely spreading racist ideas was low and shameful. Even if you aren’t very familiar with Hancock’s work, you know that he regularly gives credit to the local indigenous communities where these sites are.
Flint EMPHATICALLY states in EVERY interview that he does NOT believe Hancock to be racist. This self-victimization complex from Graham is embarrassing.
It’s helpful to remember that Hancock is a professional writer. He hasn’t been an archeologist or anthropologist a single day in his life and none of his conclusions and fanciful speculations has ever been published in any academic journal. If you want to admonish him with any scientific or academic sounding title, put pseudo- in front of it.
He’s an extremely talented researcher and analyst, and he knows just as much about archeology as Flint or Flint’s daddy. Only difference is that he doesn’t wear a stupid hat or try to cancel people out of jealously and need for attention.

If he was a talented research and analyst, he wouldn't question how ancient people knew how to draw perfect circles - hint: you tie two sticks to a rope.
I'm losing faith in both Lex and JRE for giving a platform to someone pushing this pseudoscience. Lex is supposed to be a voice for the scientific community, while JRE caters more to the average listener who enjoys exploring unconventional ideas. Allowing this kind of misinformation is disappointing and undermines the credibility of the podcast.

Lex, I’d like to know how you’d feel about someone with a background in 1980’s and 1990’s movies that were about computer science and hacking coming on to your show and telling you to be more open about your field. This is what Hancock is to archaeology.
It's providing findings that are speculative as full blown fact, you can say these things might have happened which is fine we like stories being told but to say it absolutely did happen is strange. Archeology doesn't even do that, only making conclusions when they have been studied and studied and studied.
Lex, have Flint on please. You owe it to yourself if you have any principles. Is it not plainly obvious the way Graham speaks versus any of the experts you've spoken with?
The first Australians did not bring any animals as far as we are aware. Dogs and other domesticated animals were not brought over for tens of thousands of years. We are not sure that they even used "boats" to get to Australia. They simply may have hung onto logs or coconuts or made very simple rafts. His stating that they must have used boats and it must have been 1000 people and there must have been a scouting voyage is pure conjecture. Grahams is making up a migration story. Truth is, we don't know the details surrounding it.
Im tired of listening to who called who a racist. I dont care anymore. I want ideas to be exchanged, not ad hominems and defenses for the same. Graham needs to adress the lack of seeds and plants his would be civilization would be farming if it existed. Were they carnivores? How did they feed their stock?
Mr. Hancock has such thin skin. He claims alot, but DOES NOT "LISTEN". He just waits to talk. I don't doubt his passion, but science is a team sport that no single person can really understand all the nuance, and measurement bias' that can easily creep in that outsiders can point out. The debates take many hours to years. If Graham feels like he's consistently losing, "maybe" he should reflect on that... not everything is a conspiracy (although it does sell books)
The Smithsonian has a massive amount of artifacts that do not align with the history we're told and looking into their funding and oversight is very suspicious to say the least.
Egyptologists still can't explain how the pyramids were built or who built them because we don't even have the ability to build something like the Great Pyramid today. They are still claiming they were used as giant mausoleums for pharaohs even though no mummies or tombs have ever been discovered in them.
The only thing Dibble destroyed was his credibility. Graham exposed him for lying in the debate multiple times. He made an hour long video about it. If Graham had no evidence then why did the debate go on for over 4 hours?
The initial migration of south east Asia and Australia, as well as north and South America, was done via the seas, yes. But they hugged the coastlines to make it happen. Still massively impressive and baller, but a huge difference when compared to the truly sea CROSSING civilizations of the past millennium. PS. The vikings were most definitely a sea crossing people, and they did so before the last millennium. But that’s ya know, a few thousand years after the “lost civilizations” Graham is wanting to have existed.
While he’s no where near a racist he is a pseudo scientist and he’s out to lunch on most topics he writes about. He couldn’t fight back when Flint used the archeological record to back up his claims. Hancock has no evidence. I used to be fascinated by his writing. No longer.
Graham’s put forth no evidence of this civilization sadly. How he’s convinced such a large number of people to follow him has always impressed me. I’m not a Graham hater by any stretch, and would love for him to prove his ideas, but unfortunately this may never be the case.

@@ZeekoRamen I love Graham’s theories and story telling. But have grown tired of him playing the victim. In his debate with Dibble his biggest argument was Archeologists try to discredit him. If he wants to call archaeologists out he needs to present evidence, studies, analysis etc. If he wants to stick to theories that’s fine, and I would enjoy that, but clearly he has no intention to do this.
Graham misses the high level of skepticism he has for archeology in his own theories. He won't take credit for damaging the credibility and livelyhoods of archeologists by his statements, but keeps crediting Flint for making other people think he is a racist. Also Lex, you stated it can bother someone doing good science. Eventough this is a true statement, you cannot say Graham performs good science since he doesn't do any science at all.
When I watched the Joe Rogan show with dibble it felt like I was watching someone playing a part even to the extent of wearing a costume and constantly trying to sound clever. Unfortunately for flint he couldn’t pull any of it off and just came across as a nasty little boy.

Forget who’s correct, mainstream archeology or Graham Hancock, listen to how each party communicates. Unfortunately the “loud” archeologists are way too emotional leading to stating theories, ideas, research as facts. It’s a bad look. More honest conversations need to take place. Saying you don’t know is not a fault. Dibble is not the right spokesman for this task.
You have to consider the position the mainstream archeologists are coming from. Hundreds of years of education and work only for some guy with zero archeology experience to try to push a false narrative, which pretty much is a slap in the face to mainstream archeologists. It’s like he’s telling them that all those hundreds of years of research and analysis was for nothing, and they got it wrong. And he continues with this narrative despite he himself stating there was no evidence found yet. He’s simple making large claims based on a hunch. It’s like him saying NASA needs to explore the dark side of the moon based on a half baked idea not supported by the existing data. Graham is a legitimate hack.
Are you listening at all? Graham is the one constantly grievance-mongering, claiming that Flint slanders him as a racist. Watch any interview with Flint - he emphatically states that he does not believe Graham to be a racist. Graham spends most of this interview self-victimizing himself instead of discussing the hours of archeology that they debated.
I'm sorry but that jre episode was the one that made me realize graham is a fraud. He basicly debunked the entire ancient civilization theory in a couple hours with so much proof.
Graham can just get you with his cool stories , but even a hobbyist never mind an actual archeologist can see how his theories make absolutely no sense. We have found actual dna evidence of monsters that lived millions of years before us but we cant find anything from an advanced ancient civilizations that lived basically yesterday compared to dinosaurs.
Mainstream academics constantly ignore the numerous out of place artifacts that have been discovered over the years because they don't fit their mainstream narrative. Plus there is plenty of evidence that shows how the Smithsonian was used to cover up the discovery of bones of giants and ancient out of place artifacts.

No one archeologist is saying the prevailing theories are the only ones that matter, and that new ideas shouldn’t be considered. They accept and actually proved the existence of the younger dryas. But theories based on 3000+ year old myths and the very broad coincidences are on no way the same level as theories that provide actual evidence.
Science is business and highly influenced by external pressures. As time goes on science is becoming more and more like a moralistic religion. Of course, this is just my opinion. I also believe that science has somewhat of an adversarial structure. The thing I find really interesting is the emergence of opposition to some of Darwin’s theory.

But plenty of obvious signs people weren’t what archeologists claim. Under water cities thought to be myth and on and on. Too many coincidences within the astronomical designs not to look at. “Indigenous” people even claiming they found places. Obviously signs they tried to rebuild without the ability to do it correctly. Honestly, since we were not there, most claims are theory. Even if it’s based on current knowledge. The difference is between facts and beliefs. Dibble presents facts and Hancock presents his beliefs. In their debate Hancock outright says those are his beliefs and feelings and that nothing that has been found supports his theory. There is no need to discredit Hancok for investigating but his views are not based on what we are able to observe.

It was an unbalanced debate. You could tell Dibbler was more experienced defending and presenting his work and ideas. He was very skillful in steering the debate to an “academic format” where you regularly present your work in an environment where they scrutinize every finding, evidence, data, research method, methodology, etc. The way he presented reminded me of a job talk for a teaching position or a conference panel member/presenter. For me, that’s one of the reasons Hancock appeared so ill prepared and out of depth.
Having said that, I think that suggesting that Hancock is racist or purposely spreading racist ideas was low and shameful. Even if you aren’t very familiar with Hancock’s work, you know that he regularly gives credit to the local indigenous communities where these sites are.

The first Australians did not bring any animals as far as we are aware. Dogs and other domesticated animals were not brought over for tens of thousands of years. We are not sure that they even used "boats" to get to Australia. They simply may have hung onto logs or coconuts or made very simple rafts. His stating that they must have used boats and it must have been 1000 people and there must have been a scouting voyage is pure conjecture. Grahams is making up a migration story. Truth is, we don't know the details surrounding it.

We have found actual dna evidence of monsters that lived millions of years before us but we cant find anything from an advanced ancient civilizations that lived basically yesterday compared to dinosaurs.
Mainstream academics constantly ignore the numerous out of place artifacts that have been discovered over the years because they don't fit their mainstream narrative. Plus there is plenty of evidence that shows how the Smithsonian was used to cover up the discovery of bones of giants and ancient out of place artifacts.
