He knows how to play this role to perfection, bringing a heroic leadership quality to the role and allowing audiences to connect with this massive CGI creation.
He is back as Optimus Prime in the new Transformers movie that is coming out this year in June. I believe it is called Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Everyone seems to underestimate how strong Sentinel is. He managed to take on half of the Autbot/NEST army and still held his own for some time. And he even defeated and almost killed Optimus while he was seriously injured and running away. If he still sided with the Autobots, the war would’ve ended way sooner.
@@khoiduong8783 especially with as much experience as Sentinal. Its like staff combat and you have The Fallen on your Team. Might aswell surrender as the enemy.
And at the same time, many underestimate Megatron's strength and physical might. Yes, he fired from the back, while with one hand he was able to tear apart the Sentinel's armor and throws him across the bridge like a toy.

Everyone is like "OMG i cant believe Optimus killed Megatron" as if the last 2 films of Megatrons bloodshed & destruction was suddenly forgiven because Megatron wanted a truce just as his forces are utterly defeated.
I think the problem was that Megatron got one shoted by a very injured Optimus. and I think fans of megatron wanted a better fight for megatron's death.

When it comes to a thrilling storyline and epic fights, Dark of the Moon takes the cake. The movie told the story of the first landing on the moon and how it was connected to the final days on the War of Cybertron. The fight was long and exhausting for both parties, but the end was highly satisfying.

Shockwave is a Decepticon with an incredibly tough side. In his arsenal, he has a weapon that drills into the ground and buildings with ease. He is capable of large scale destruction and his impenetrable hide makes it all the more difficult to fight him. It took the combined efforts of the Autobots and the soldiers to weaken him before Optimus Prime took him down shortly afterward.

While it is a very significant moment plot wise, the Battle of Chicago demonstrates Michael Bay and his crew's ability to make an hour long set piece that is equal parts thrilling, exciting, fun and impressive in scope. It also makes for an excellent climax, ending the film on an incredible high note, as well as being an event that makes Sam realize that being the world's savior is not as important as just being there for the one he loves.
His own brother? They were "brothers in arms", they fought together in some wars until Megs started the civil war on Cybertron, tha's, where their ways parted. They weren't a family.
@@Portal_Storm If you're referring to how much into the dark side he had fallen in 4 and 5, let's no forget that he let his own world die to save Earth, and humanity repays him by hunting, murdering and experimenting on his teammates, his friends, his family. Optimus was wrong, but being real, he was justified.
i heard that they used precticele effects for the transformers in some cases for them in the first three but not in the fourth but i could be wrong on that so i don´t know if thatś true or not
Cybertron is almost whole (despite all those holes and parts sticking out of it. It looked that way even in the intro to DotM). So where did you get, that it's halved? Also the space bridge doesn't work like that, it slowly relocated all of Cybertron (by slowly I mean really slowly), when the bridge was turned off, Cybertron revert back to the place, where it originally was (somewhere in deep space). There is no other dimension involved, the space bridge worked as a teleport device.
Optimus Prime is constantly depicted as having strong moral character, excellent leadership, and sound decision-making skills, and possesses brilliant military tactics, powerful martial arts, and advanced extraterrestrial weaponry. Optimus Prime has a strong sense of honor and justice, being dedicated to building peaceful and mutually beneficial coexistence with humans, the protection of life and liberty of all sentient beings.
I like that at 8:09 you can almost see the disgust in Optimus' face after he had to shoot Sentinel. One thing that I like about him actually having a mouth is that emotions like that can be seen on his face
Sentinel Prime was the one taught Optimus Prime all of the values that he holds in this continuity, and Optimus respected him to the extent he was willing to hand over the Matrix of Leadership to Sentinel when he was found. But Sentinel betrayed those values by siding with Megatron, and sees himself as superior to the humans in every way, and tries to convince Optimus of this viewpoint, citing how the humans sees the Autobots as simple machines. So Optimus' words are a departure from the usual formula of vehement hate for traitors, and exist as a counter to Sentinel's last words, because Optimus is aware enough not to focus on how Sentinel's betrayal affected him personally, but how Sentinel had betrayed his own values.
Wonder how Optimus's morale is. On one hand he finally killed Megatron for his war crimes on Cybertron and Earth. On the other hand he had to kill Sentinel Prime his predecessor and former brother in arms. One represents darkness and evil the other is yet again a former Prime. He must have emotional whiplash
Which explains his ill-tempered tendencies in the last two films. He harbored pure hatred on humans salvaging both Autobots and Decepticons in Age of Extinction and chose violence over talking with Quintessa at Cybertron on The Last Knight.
Audience: “Michael bay is an insult to the film industry!” Bay: “Do you like giant robots?” Audience: “I mean you know it’s uh...” Bay: “what about giant robots punching other giant robots?” Audience: “er I mean it’s not really...” Bay: “how about big titted models?” Audience “well that’s a little objectionable but I mean...” Bay: “do you like the American flag?” Audience: “ I mean of course we love it” Bay: “what if I told you I could put all that together in one movie?” Audience: “...we’re listening.”
@Verynn Yeah, no. With whatever the fuck your profile photo is, and your first sentence, I can't take you seriously. Also the fights are actually good, I don't know what you're on about. One of the things Bay did pretty well is keep an intense action-pace going, a constant stream of things to allow the audience to enjoy. It's a fun film as it is. Also what do you mean by "ignoring the last one's rules". What fuckin' rules? Do you mean lore? Cause if so, they don't ignore it, all movies 1-3 has had the continued mention of what had happened in the previous film. Granted they introduce mcguffins that are more or less fetch quests, but that's been going on since G-fucking-1.
@Verynn first of sam is a kid, he said ironhide because ironhide was going to the decepticons when he didn't know, he said optimus for prime to watch his surroundings, and he did parkour because if he didn't he would've gotten blasted by a decepticon a long time ago and the explosion action scenes are watchable but the glasses you wear in the profile pic of yours is to stupid to understand, bayverse wasnt perfect but it was something to watch so stfu and get out
@@StarWarsftw12 exactly the lore of 1-3 made sense 4 minus the creation of seeds made sense 5 dosen't rlly make sense but at least they all had satisfying action scenes
@@therealsteel1634 2 does not make sense because one part of the cube thing is making sam crazy while in the 1st movie he had the whole cube and held it multiple times and it did nothing to him
Jokes aside, it’s so fitting that the final words Sentinel hears before his demise was, “You betrayed yourself”. It wasn’t even cliche, because when he became a Prime, he was supposed to be a leader, a fiend, and a person who’d stand up to a bully, and when Sentinel befriended Megatron to save Cybertronian, he practically threw all of what he stood for out the window. So Optimus was right, because he betrayed all of the morals that he was supposed to show as a Prime. *He betrayed himself…*
I love how this film shows how different the other primes were in comparison to Optimus, different canon or not. Like the council said; “We have watched the other primes fall to their pride and greed”.
Now I didn't grow up watching G1 Transformers and I kinda like Bay's Optimus but I can understand why G1 fans hate him. Even I thought it was out of character for Prime to say "You die!" to Shockwave. But whatever

😁 Maybe after three movies, Megatron was starting to see how fun Optimus' pastime is- it's not quite GIVE ME YOUR FACE, but he did yank Sentinel's headpiece off.
7:50 Optimus Prime finally kills Sentinel Prime for murdering both Ironhide and Wheeljack and for harming the innocent people of mankind in the terrible act of corruption and tyranny!
I still remember to this day the moment I heard Optimus say in the theater "Time to find out." and then him go ape on Megatron. My jaw dropped and stayed down until the end of the movie. Man...what an awesome moment.
No, they are not brothers. They never were brothers. Prime called Megatron his brother in the first movie as a sign of how close they once were. In Gen1, Prime was the rebuilt form of Orion Pax after Megatron almost killed him. Before that, Orion and Megatron had no prior connection. In TF Prime, Orion became close friends with Megatronus (later shortening name to Megatron) during his Gladiator days and later worked together to make the society better. Orion then became Optimus when his speech moved the High Council in such a way that they believed him to be worthy of the Matrix of Leadership. These are just a few continuities, and neither these, nor any others tell of Megatron and Optimus as being actual brothers, only very close friends.

i love that bit at 4:42 where the rocket to the chest makes sentinel fall back. always loved the fact that the humans working together with the autobots was more than enough to keep possibly the most skilled prime at bay, even force him to retreat.
He is badass, but has some weak moments. Imagine, you had your arm ripped off and are about to die from the hands of your mentor, how would you act? It's like begging for your life is so cowardly, but the instinct to survive is stronger in those situations, you know.

Even if you don’t like these movies, I don’t think anyone can deny that the scene with Carly and Megatron is one of the best in the entire franchise. It actually shows character development in a TRANSFORMER, not a human. Plus it gets you pumped for the final scene.
As the TFWiki states on his page, Megatron truly does care for his home planet, and his ultimate goal is restoring it. I love how exemplified that is by him removing his tarp so he can look up with no obstruction, just kind of sagging back against the building in weary relief, and the love for his planet in his voice when he declares "Cybertron. You are saved... at last".

“Time to find out!”
-Lost Brothers forever
Dark of the Moon does its job as a Transformers film fairly well, and it can definitely rank among the best in terms of visual storytelling.
The last good Transformers movie
While it is a very significant moment plot wise, the Battle of Chicago demonstrates Michael Bay and his crew's ability to make an hour long set piece that is equal parts thrilling, exciting, fun and impressive in scope. It also makes for an excellent climax, ending the film on an incredible high note, as well as being an event that makes Sam realize that being the world's savior is not as important as just being there for the one he loves.
Optimus lost Jazz to his own brother and Ironhide to his mentor....I think his bloo-....oilthirsty actions can be justified
His own brother? They were "brothers in arms", they fought together in some wars until Megs started the civil war on Cybertron, tha's, where their ways parted. They weren't a family.
Alexandra Hefnerová ....I understand that
He may have gone to far and became the same monster that they were
"oil thirsty" hahaha
@@Portal_Storm If you're referring to how much into the dark side he had fallen in 4 and 5, let's no forget that he let his own world die to save Earth, and humanity repays him by hunting, murdering and experimenting on his teammates, his friends, his family. Optimus was wrong, but being real, he was justified.
The CG and effects here are superior to Age of Extinction's
i heard that they used precticele effects for the transformers in some cases for them in the first three but not in the fourth but i could be wrong on that so i don´t know if thatś true or not
Totally agree
Do you mean practical?
yeah thats what i mean
Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen)
0:10 (to Shockwave): You die!
0:53 (to Sentinel Prime): You were the one who taught me freedom is everyone's right!
2:50 _michael bay movies in a nutshell_
0:28 so there is half of Cybertron floating in space, and the other half in the other dimension?
mind blown
Ender Destroyer the other half was floating in space somewhere else.
Ender Destroyer
their transport technology is too scrub to transport an entire planet as a whole
Ender Destroyer ya fr lol
Cybertron is almost whole (despite all those holes and parts sticking out of it. It looked that way even in the intro to DotM). So where did you get, that it's halved?
Also the space bridge doesn't work like that, it slowly relocated all of Cybertron (by slowly I mean really slowly), when the bridge was turned off, Cybertron revert back to the place, where it originally was (somewhere in deep space). There is no other dimension involved, the space bridge worked as a teleport device.
2:17 Bumblebee hit the cleanest reverse of all time
I have noticed bee do that move several times in the other movies too. Nice consistency.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how megatron took down sentinel.. that was ruthless.. its indeed his planet.
Shut up, nerd.
And then there's the Michael Bay version
Ya he got all that from being a librarian and received the matrix of leadership
@@technopathic7597 so true & funny
Idk why people don’t like him due to his brutality in defeating enemies
I like that at 8:09 you can almost see the disgust in Optimus' face after he had to shoot Sentinel. One thing that I like about him actually having a mouth is that emotions like that can be seen on his face
Sentinel’s sword looks similar to the sword thanos used in end game
Oh yeah yeah sentinel was probably Thanos as a cybertronian organism before he became a grape
Oh yeah yeah stfu
That's what I said 2
@Thought Gains how about u shut the fuck up bitch
You mean Thanos' sword looks like Sentinel twin blade

Serve you right for killing Ironhide
True,ironhide was the best
Then they kill Ratchet in AOE by human and Lockdown, so sad. Also to me, Ratchet and Ironhide's death were saddest among all of them.
G Lo made me cry, no lie I’m 39
and the twins in the comic
Ironhide sucked
Megatron just got WRECKED!
I don't see anyone talking about how smooth my boy bumblebee was at 2:16, don't worry bee, I see you.
The Transformers I grew up with died after this movie.
All but two
I know😢
Wonder how Optimus's morale is.
Did anyone notice how Optimus finnished off Sentinel with Megatron's gun?
Me also
Me three
Master Banana wait wtf?
it look like a shotgun but it can be a canon too tho
Audience: “Michael bay is an insult to the film industry!”
Bay: “Do you like giant robots?”
Audience: “I mean you know it’s uh...”
Bay: “what about giant robots punching other giant robots?”
Audience: “er I mean it’s not really...”
Bay: “how about big titted models?”
Audience “well that’s a little objectionable but I mean...”
Bay: “do you like the American flag?”
Audience: “ I mean of course we love it”
Bay: “what if I told you I could put all that together in one movie?”
Audience: “...we’re listening.”

That's also why he gave Optimus back the matrix ... He knew he didn't deserve it
I love how this film shows how different the other primes were in comparison to Optimus, different canon or not. Like the council said; “We have watched the other primes fall to their pride and greed”.

Commander 760 they made decepticons weak af in this movie, classic weak writing
MrElmo54321 I agree with you
MrElmo54321 also why human plot we don't want to see humans we want transformers killing each other
Commander 760 Agreed aswell
Commander 760 The climax without humans in the movie wouldn't make as much sense as in the G1 cartoons. You can't put as much of a story in a few movies as you can in a series without humans in it.
7:14, Megatron with the reactions of an old lady.

Megatron: hey Optimus I actually want peace between our factions because our planet is devastated
Optimus Prime: IS THAT ANOTHER FACE TO TAKE?
😁 Maybe after three movies, Megatron was starting to see how fun Optimus' pastime is- it's not quite GIVE ME YOUR FACE, but he did yank Sentinel's headpiece off.
7:50 Optimus Prime finally kills Sentinel Prime for murdering both Ironhide and Wheeljack and for harming the innocent people of mankind in the terrible act of corruption and tyranny!

@@Fanie0820 Sentinel Prime indirectly caused the death of Wheeljack in Dark of the Moon!
I still remember to this day the moment I heard Optimus say in the theater "Time to find out." and then him go ape on Megatron. My jaw dropped and stayed down until the end of the movie. Man...what an awesome moment.
Megatron amd Optimus Prime could have been friends :'(
Trek Nut They are brothers not friends secand they helped each other in old cartoon
Trek Nut that reminds me of when megaton help Optimus in transformers prime could have been the same
Gamingwith Iman Ikr Megatron is not really a evill world made him to do these things he even didnt hurt gf Sam he could but he didnt and he went to save Optimus but optimus killed him didnt care he came save him from Sentinel now still he want save and help him just like he did in movie and TFP cartoon

The story in this movie is fantastic, with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The action sequences are some of the most spectacular I've ever seen. And of course, Optimus Prime is an absolute badass.
i love that bit at 4:42 where the rocket to the chest makes sentinel fall back.
always loved the fact that the humans working together with the autobots was more than enough to keep possibly the most skilled prime at bay, even force him to retreat.
I don't like how Bay had Optimus plead to sentinel for his life. Optimus is too badass to do something so cowardly
He is badass, but has some weak moments. Imagine, you had your arm ripped off and are about to die from the hands of your mentor, how would you act? It's like begging for your life is so cowardly, but the instinct to survive is stronger in those situations, you know.
You need to killthe traitor
He was pleading he was begging not to destroy earth or bring back cybertron
He was pleading for Earth, not himself.
He wasn’t begging for his life he was begging him to not destroy Earth
you dont want to be on the bad side of optimus prime

Iron hide got shot 3/4 and sideswipe got shot 1/4.when did sideswipe get shot?
Even if you don’t like these movies, I don’t think anyone can deny that the scene with Carly and Megatron is one of the best in the entire franchise. It actually shows character development in a TRANSFORMER, not a human. Plus it gets you pumped for the final scene.
Just like in G1
As the TFWiki states on his page, Megatron truly does care for his home planet, and his ultimate goal is restoring it. I love how exemplified that is by him removing his tarp so he can look up with no obstruction, just kind of sagging back against the building in weary relief, and the love for his planet in his voice when he declares "Cybertron. You are saved... at last".
Anyone gonna talk about Bumblebee's smooth transition from modes at 2:16
