Hi, I am having problems with my laptop Dell Inspiron 3593...I followed the hardware diagnostic scan as you mentioned...marked all the boxes then I did the BIOS setup ..I tried factory reset with no success .. my laptop is stuck on the Support Assist OS Recovery & just keeps loading & loading? Not going beyond it? What can be the problem? Or what can I do?
Reset windows 10. F11 does not work. I can do F2 and F12. Ran diagnostic and was no problems were found. The Dell blue bar loads but it then goes to Oxc000021a . Can I do factory reset on bios?
Thank you so much for this video My desk top on my laptop kept crashing every 11 seconds. (I did not know what to do) I tried using Maleware Bytes and Microsoft defender, but it did not work. I wanted to rest my PC to Factory setting, but was afraid that I would lose all of my files, but I found this video and followed your instructions to reset my PC without losing my files and it worked. THANK YOU !!!!!. I will subscribe to your channel and tell all my friends
Hi, my Dell Inspiron 7537 flashed a message about a critical battery failure and to replace before continuing. I have replaced the battery but PC will not boot up and after the Dell logo stops with a black screen. I watched some of your videos but it basically cannot factory reset, diagnose or any others options. After spending several days and countless hours, I thought up leaving a comment, maybe this can be resolved without too much expense. Thank you.
1. You cant run the diagnostic scan? What happens when you try? 2. If you perform the power drain procedure seen here th-cam.com/video/kOBY4k2Mn_k/w-d-xo.html but do not put the battery back in and just use the computer with only the charger, is there any change?
When I start my Dell laptop, the logo comes up and it says- fixing (c:) stage 2: 85% (xxxx); total: 77%; eta: 0:00:36. It's frozen and has been like that for 3 hours. I'm afraid to turn it off. It has all my work information on it, because I work from home. Not sure what to do.

@@PC_Monkey Thank you. I ran the diagnostic and it worked. It took some time with a couple of restart, in order to run the fixing stages, but I'm up and running again. You're the best.
How long should it actually take to reinstall Windows....? My PC shows it is at 100% of Back up for data and settings transfer, and has been at that point for many hours. Seems stuck now.
Depending on the computer and the health of the operating system, it can take a few hours sometimes. However, if its stuck, something is wrong. Was your Dell turning on and working well before this attempted reset? If not, what was happening?
I have a Dell XPS 8960. I installed Norton and while it was doing an automatic App update, it locked up and I had to reboot it from a usb I bought online. It started running very slow so after two weeks of trying this a d trying that, I realized that my drive D became C and C became D. I have some programs in both drives and it looks as though my operating system is also in both drives. I downloaded all the OS updates from the Dell website and then I created a Recovery USB. I want to install Win and all Apps in drive C. Drive D is for data only. I’ve tried everything but I can’t get it to see the usb. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated
Yes. During the factory reset process, there should be an option to erase everything or to save your DATA. You would choose the option to save. But even then, depending on where your restore point is, you may loose some apps that were installed after that point was created.
Hi, thanks for the video, in the process it asking to enter the recovery key which was not in the procedure shown, any solution, seller not contactable.

I have a Dell Latitude 7480. I tested the bios and when trying to reset the operating system It will not let me get to the F11 function to do so. When the boot agent starts, I get two errors "PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable" and "PXE-M0F: Exiting intel Boot Agent" what are your thoughts? I bought this from PC Liquidators 1.5 years ago.
Yes. In F2 I checked the time and date and the boot sequence. F12 I ran the Diagnostics and emailed you. After seeing your email I went back to F2 and was able to "Restore Settings". Now when I boot the Windows icon and the dotted circle comes up for 1 or 2 seconds and then the blue screen returns. By the way. Thanks for your help. love the videos!

hey i have a question, i have a hp laptop that is pretty old, and recently after installing a app called fl studio which makes music it started being extremely slow (im going somewhere with this) and after i installed it i turned it off, and this laptop is very slow usually takes around 20 minutes to turn on all the way and the wifi was terrible you needed to be in the same room as the wifi and it didnt work while unplugged. but now it took 2 hours just to get past the hp loading screen, and when you enter the password it just doesnt load up. i decided to just factory reset it using shift and that power symbol on the screen where you put the password in and it factory resetted fine. it fixed the power issue so now it can be used without it having to be plugged in, but i cant use it. after the factory reset, it immedtly went into a boot loop. what do i do? i cant get it out of the boot looping and i was hoping you could help me solve this issue. thank you

Is this the process that you’d do if you are selling or gifting your laptop to another party and want to factory reset it? Also, when reinstalling windows is that something that will happen automatically or would you need to pay to reinstall the windows os?

Did you ever get this done? I found a tossed out Dell Wyse (nice screen!) But I think the CPU/ RAM configuration on the Wyse Thin Client systems isn't powerful enough to run day, Win 10 or 11. There is a version of Win 10 & 11 called Tiny 10 or Tiny 11. Thank you
I want to assume for the first method, in my case i just bought my laptop from a pawnshop i just want to get rid of everything it may have, "remove everything" would be better?
I appreciate the nice video, as ever, but it would be very nice to know how long the reset you chose at about 2:45 takes to delete everything except Windows.
@@PC_Monkey Thank you for the reply, but I figure that most Win 11 PCs are "modern" enough to process data at a fairly decent speed. I was in a time crunch when I did the factory reset you featured herein, so I would've liked to have known, in general, how long the reset might take. Please take this as it's intended: as constructive criticism. Something like, "The Win 11 laptop used in this video was a XX gen Core i-X laptop - equipped with XX GB of RAM - and was built in the year 20XX. It completed the reset featured in this video in XX minutes. Your mileage may vary," would have been very helpful to me. Please keep on making the helpful videos. 👍

@@PC_Monkey No spillage; no recent updates that I'm aware of; overheating is possible ( Latitude 7480 tends to get warm as it runs. The day before booting stopped, I was on the laptop 2 or so hours rather than the usual 1 or so hour). I tried to restore settings, but booting was still unsuccessful. I couldn't find a repair option. F12 screen allows me to change boot mode options quickly. UEFI, Secure Boot Off Mode results in the error messages; UEFI, Secure Boot On Mode results in no bootable options found; Legacy Mode results in a stalled blinking cursor. If I change Boot sequence in Legacy putting Onboard NIC first, the result is the error message; if I make M.2PCIe SSD first, the result is a stalled blinking cursor. If I remember correctly, the booting has always shown those error messages, but the booting process would still continue into Windows. Consequently, I did not pay much attention to the error messages. Now the error messages appear, the cursor stalls, and booting into Windows fails.

My laptop doesnt boot up and when I tried to factory reset through f11 it says "No bootable device" both in Legacy and UEFI. I've done the diagnoses several times with different settings and 0 errors found. Recently I tried to download a download an app in order to completely delete files, since I had dozens of game and other app files that couldn't be deleted (they were only bytes size, but I tried to clean it up so that I could use for work). Inside that same deleting files app there was "remove waste" and "clean hard disk".... As always.. I chose the worst option and cleaned my whole disk thinking it would only take away waste, however, it did actually remove everything, even so that I can't boot anymore. I've tested every tutorial, settings, etc, but still not working. Should I have my PC checked by a professional, buy a new one or try something else? I thank in advance for any help I can get, I need my computer in order to study for a test this month and for work, if there's any way I can get it working again I'd be grateful, if I need to have it checked in or, in the worst case, buy a new one. Thanks again and keep making these videos, you're the best.
1. Are you able to find any Recovery or Repair options in BIOS? 2. If changing the settings in BIOS did not help and the diagnostic scan showed the hard drive to be healthy, then you can proceed with the rest of the video. You can try the Repair or Recovery options in BIOS or undoing the last update if applicable. If that does not help, your last resort would be to install a new operating system. hi. I purchased a new Dell computer from Costco with Windows 11 operating system. I down loaded my personal data & Microsoft Office. My personal data has lots of financial data. Now I want to return it. I talked to Costco. They will accept the return. I watched your video how to reset. After reset it gives a message press F12 then all TPM data will be erased. Or press Esc to continue. F12 does not do any thing. When I press Esc. It continues and askes me for Microsoft ID & Password. When I provide it. It loads back few of my data. Please help.
Will this fix ghost touching on laptops? I want to get to device manager to disable the touch screen, but i cant even sign in because the ghost touching is so rapid :(
1. Your keyboard is ghosting or do you have a touchscreen thats ghosting? 2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
@PC_Monkey thank you for the response. It's a touchscreen laptop. Possibly overheating although it did not feel warmer than usual. It happened while I was running a game on it while the laptop is 7 years old. It was handling the game quite well, but then the ghost touching started out of nowhere. I immediately shut it down, which I regret because I probably could've gotten to device manager, but after shutting it down I can't log in. As I try to type my password it constantly clicks off the bar in the top right corner of the screen. Idk of a way to get to device manager without logging in. I only really used the laptop for casual use, so should I try factory resetting it?
@@PC_Monkey just an update: I was able to fix it by manipulating the touch screen by hand with some unorthodox tools and connected the laptop to an extra monitor I had. Then I was finally able to sign in and disable the touch screen in device manager. And then re-enabled the touch screen and it works. But I'm never enabling the touch screen again lol. Never used it anyways. I would advise anyone who doesn't use the touch screen on laptops to disable the touch screen from the start, because this was super annoying.

I want to install Win and all Apps in drive C. Drive D is for data only. I’ve tried everything but I can’t get it to see the usb. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated
Is there any way to do factory reset without removing widows but apps yes
Yes. During the factory reset process, there should be an option to erase everything or to save your DATA. You would choose the option to save. But even then, depending on where your restore point is, you may loose some apps that were installed after that point was created.

I went to try the factory rest and as i turn it on and press the f11 multiple times until i ended up back on the same screen i have been having since changing out the hard drive. It loads the dell screen and then goes to a black screen with a flashing undercursor. I have tried using all the f function keys and im not able to get a factory reset to go. I have also pulled the motherboard battery and after about 5 min put it back in again and i still have the same issues. Can you give me any advice on how to fix this?

Can you enter BIOS and find any Restore or Repair options? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
