Hi, I am having problems with my laptop Dell Inspiron 3593...I followed the hardware diagnostic scan as you mentioned...marked all the boxes then I did the BIOS setup ..I tried factory reset with no success .. my laptop is stuck on the Support Assist OS Recovery & just keeps loading & loading? Not going beyond it? What can be the problem? Or what can I do?
Reset windows 10. F11 does not work. I can do F2 and F12. Ran diagnostic and was no problems were found. The Dell blue bar loads but it then goes to Oxc000021a . Can I do factory reset on bios?
Thanks for your email and advice. Thanks for your help. I sold my laptop & the buyer played about with the settings & could not get windows to load . Told him not to play with the settings he hadn't a clue what he was was doing . Thanks to your advice you sent me the laptop is back up and running great . I am so grateful to you

On the reset does it delete all the data properly? i.e. can files be recovered off the Hd disk user partition with a recovery data tool. I am selling mine and have a lot of financial data, and passwords stored for access to my One drive.
Yes. During the factory reset process, there should be an option to erase everything or to save your DATA. You would choose the option to save. But even then, depending on where your restore point is, you may loose some apps that were installed after that point was created.
Did you ever get this done? I found a tossed out Dell Wyse (nice screen!) But I think the CPU/ RAM configuration on the Wyse Thin Client systems isn't powerful enough to run day, Win 10 or 11. There is a version of Win 10 & 11 called Tiny 10 or Tiny 11. Thank you
Hi, my Dell Inspiron 7537 flashed a message about a critical battery failure and to replace before continuing. I have replaced the battery but PC will not boot up and after the Dell logo stops with a black screen. I watched some of your videos but it basically cannot factory reset, diagnose or any others options. After spending several days and countless hours, I thought up leaving a comment, maybe this can be resolved without too much expense. Thank you.

It would have been nice to see the end result. What happens to Microsoft Visual C++ and other files that get wiped out? Will they automatically install when I reinstall my apps or do I need to do some leg work to recover them and other files?
That depends on what software you have on your computer and where the restore point is. Seeing what happened to the software on my computer would be of little use. Depending on where the restore point is, you may lose some software before that point. Or if a restore point is not being used, you would lose all software installed after the 'factory settings' directly after factory. Usually, not a lot is included at that point.

hey i have a question, i have a hp laptop that is pretty old, and recently after installing a app called fl studio which makes music it started being extremely slow (im going somewhere with this) and after i installed it i turned it off, and this laptop is very slow usually takes around 20 minutes to turn on all the way and the wifi was terrible you needed to be in the same room as the wifi and it didnt work while unplugged. but now it took 2 hours just to get past the hp loading screen, and when you enter the password it just doesnt load up. i decided to just factory reset it using shift and that power symbol on the screen where you put the password in and it factory resetted fine. it fixed the power issue so now it can be used without it having to be plugged in, but i cant use it. after the factory reset, it immedtly went into a boot loop. what do i do? i cant get it out of the boot looping and i was hoping you could help me solve this issue. thank you

hi. I purchased a new Dell computer from Costco with Windows 11 operating system. I down loaded my personal data & Microsoft Office. My personal data has lots of financial data. Now I want to return it. I talked to Costco. They will accept the return. I watched your video how to reset. After reset it gives a message press F12 then all TPM data will be erased. Or press Esc to continue. F12 does not do any thing. When I press Esc. It continues and askes me for Microsoft ID & Password. When I provide it. It loads back few of my data. Please help.
I have a refurbished latitude 7480. I cannot get the boot process to complete. The message is PXE-E61 Media test failure, check cable. Diagnostics show everything is fine. I tried changing Bios. Still no complete boot. I tried to tap F11 for factory reset, but it doesn't go into the factory setting screen. It just tries to boot, and fails. Can you help me? Thank you.
Can you enter BIOS and find any Restore or Repair options? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
@@PC_Monkey No spillage; no recent updates that I'm aware of; overheating is possible ( Latitude 7480 tends to get warm as it runs. The day before booting stopped, I was on the laptop 2 or so hours rather than the usual 1 or so hour). I tried to restore settings, but booting was still unsuccessful. I couldn't find a repair option. F12 screen allows me to change boot mode options quickly. UEFI, Secure Boot Off Mode results in the error messages; UEFI, Secure Boot On Mode results in no bootable options found; Legacy Mode results in a stalled blinking cursor. If I change Boot sequence in Legacy putting Onboard NIC first, the result is the error message; if I make M.2PCIe SSD first, the result is a stalled blinking cursor. If I remember correctly, the booting has always shown those error messages, but the booting process would still continue into Windows. Consequently, I did not pay much attention to the error messages. Now the error messages appear, the cursor stalls, and booting into Windows fails.
So I have a Dell OptiPlex 3040 and when trying to figure out my GPU I ended up making my computer go black, unable to load into the PC, only the opening fell screen. The video is to reinstall a Dell. The 2nd half of the video (hitting F11) shows an HP laptop. Now I chose to believe you but you could have said "I'm going to show this on an HP but it will work on your Dell."
The only part of the install process that differs from one brand to the other is how to initially access the startup options by using a function key and start the install process. After that, most brand computers will be the same as the Microsoft software takes over. What benefit would it have been to show that part on a Dell and not an HP?
@@PC_Monkey Mention it in the audio b/c seeing the HP I was worried you'd misedited the video. Look, you helped me. I learned something. You just needed one more sentence "this works for all brands". You do a great service.
Agreed. Novice folks to PCs may get apprehensive or even me if I was in a pinch. Mentioning would help to take relieve the apprehension of an already bad situation when having to reset a computer.

I have a Dell Latitude 7480. I tested the bios and when trying to reset the operating system It will not let me get to the F11 function to do so. When the boot agent starts, I get two errors "PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable" and "PXE-M0F: Exiting intel Boot Agent" what are your thoughts? I bought this from PC Liquidators 1.5 years ago.
Yes. In F2 I checked the time and date and the boot sequence. F12 I ran the Diagnostics and emailed you. After seeing your email I went back to F2 and was able to "Restore Settings". Now when I boot the Windows icon and the dotted circle comes up for 1 or 2 seconds and then the blue screen returns. By the way. Thanks for your help. love the videos!

Latitude 7480 will not boot. Changing boot mode or boot sequence results in stalled cursor or error message PXE-E61 and then stalled cursor depending upon mode or sequence. Tapping F8 for factory reset does not work. Restoring in BIOS does not fix booting stall. No repair options found. I believe that originally error message did appear when booting, but booting would always complete. Now booting always stalls. Tried reseating SSD (no go). Ran diagnostics (all OK). No spillage. Unaware of any recent updates (but may be possible). Possible overheating (ran laptop longer than usual on day before booting ceased). For more details, see comment and replies in "G" just below in comments. Thank you.

On the reset does it delete all the data properly? i.e. can files be recovered off the Hd disk user partition with a recovery data tool. I am selling mine and have a lot of financial data, and passwords stored for access to my One drive.
Not if you choose the erase everything option. All DATA should be erased and should not be able to be recovered.
Is there any way to do factory reset without removing widows but apps yes
Yes. During the factory reset process, there should be an option to erase everything or to save your DATA. You would choose the option to save. But even then, depending on where your restore point is, you may loose some apps that were installed after that point was created.
Thanks so much this worked so well!

Can you find any Restore or Repair options in BIOS? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
It would have been nice to see the end result. What happens to Microsoft Visual C++ and other files that get wiped out? Will they automatically install when I reinstall my apps or do I need to do some leg work to recover them and other files?
That depends on what software you have on your computer and where the restore point is. Seeing what happened to the software on my computer would be of little use. Depending on where the restore point is, you may lose some software before that point. Or if a restore point is not being used, you would lose all software installed after the 'factory settings' directly after factory. Usually, not a lot is included at that point.

hey i have a question, i have a hp laptop that is pretty old, and recently after installing a app called fl studio which makes music it started being extremely slow (im going somewhere with this) and after i installed it i turned it off, and this laptop is very slow usually takes around 20 minutes to turn on all the way and the wifi was terrible you needed to be in the same room as the wifi and it didnt work while unplugged. but now it took 2 hours just to get past the hp loading screen, and when you enter the password it just doesnt load up. i decided to just factory reset it using shift and that power symbol on the screen where you put the password in and it factory resetted fine. it fixed the power issue so now it can be used without it having to be plugged in, but i cant use it. after the factory reset, it immedtly went into a boot loop. what do i do? i cant get it out of the boot looping and i was hoping you could help me solve this issue. thank you

Many thanks ❤

My dell laptop that is nine years old with windows 10 installed gives me a blue screen with a white circle that goes around and around and I would like to have help making it go back to factory default settings. I’ve been trying to figure out myself how to fix it and the first time I took the battery out and put it back in then within five minutes it went to This message that said it would fix the C Dr. and I let it go for an hour or more and it said he had reached 100%, but then before anything else could happen my computer died because it was not plugged in. Okay, im at a loss with my uncles computer. I have check double checked and triple checked the bios settings and have tried changing things around. I dont have the option on it to change the legacy thing you were talking about in a different video. I cant start the laptop up in safe mode because it doesnt even give me an option to do so. I am working on a dell inspiron m5030. I have ran the diagnostics on it multiple times. First time i ran it the diagnostic test had a hard drive error. I changed out the hard drive. Ran the diagnostic tests three times afterwards and they were all good to go. I went to try the factory rest and as i turn it on and press the f11 multiple times until i ended up back on the same screen i have been having since changing out the hard drive. It loads the dell screen and then goes to a black screen with a flashing undercursor. I have tried using all the f function keys and im not able to get a factory reset to go. I have also pulled the motherboard battery and after about 5 min put it back in again and i still have the same issues. Can you give me any advice on how to fix this?
After installing the new HDD, you have to install an operating system to it. They usually dont come with OS's preinstalled :)

Yes. In F2 I checked the time and date and the boot sequence. F12 I ran the Diagnostics and emailed you. After seeing your email I went back to F2 and was able to "Restore Settings". 1. You power it on, and it only shows you time and date and does not fully load Windows?
2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
Thank you.
