The Scream movies are Wes Craven and as much as I love Wes Craven. The Scream movies ruined horror as a genre. Scream was the flagship of PG13 horror that took over the cinemas for close to 20 years. If you want to see an awesome Wes Craven movie check out The Serpent and The Rainbow.
@@RicketyRooster I didn't say Scream was rated PG13 I said it was the flagship. Every horror movie after Scream was a soft cookie cutter copy. But the best horror are actually cult classic that did horrible in their theatrical release.
the behind the scenes featurettes for this film are fantastic to watch, they do in depth of how they film Tina and Glen's death scenes and it really shows you the beautiful mind that Wes Craven had in these types of films.

I don't know if you've already seen the film or not but I think another NATMARE option could be An American Werewolf in London. It is a great classic film and one of my favorites of all time. The visual effects were ground-breaking for 1981. Have a great Halloween and I look forward to your next reaction video.
Actually, Freddy's boiler room is not a built set, it's an actual boiler room at the abandoned Lincoln Heights Jail. Glen and Tina's deaths were filmed in the same room they built on a sound stage, the same sound stage where I Love Lucy was filmed. They built the room on a giant wheel so they could rotate the set. So, as Tina is being dragged across the ceiling, the room is actually upside down. Then they redecorated it to look like Glens room, turned it upside down and poured 200 gallons of cow blood. Originally the scene was supposed to end with the bed regurgitating Glen, but the sensors made them cut that part.
When they showed that movie I was still a minor so I couldn't see it, but years later they showed it on TV, and it was one of the most watched on national TV here in Peru at that time, I was afraid to sleep at night before going to school
"Never lock the door when you take a bath or shower." Actually great advice. A friend of mine almost drowned because he passed out in a shower once & managed to close the drain, almost drowned if I didn't check on him.
I saw this movie when I was 7 years old. It was scary as hell. I thought that Freddy would appear in my dreams if I behaved badly ;). I really enjoy your reactions on youtube. They're GREAT! and this one made my day. Love from Elm street...
@Andy Hutton yeah, look how much she’s aged in Star Trek Into Darkness. She played the Enterprise officer manning the control console in the brig when Kirk was interrogating Harrison/Khan.
Freddy's Dead! That film is so underrated. I love its silly looney tunes humour and parts of it are genuinely creepy. And we get to see how Freddy came to be. How he tried to be good and just was rotten. Interesting as well as scatterbrained.
Natalie, love your channel. I salute you for watching these horror movies, suggest The Fly or The Visitors as your last one of possible lol, or even after the weekend. Both are the only horror movies I am willing to watch. Both are so emotionally harrowing and investing.
A Nightmare on Elm Street came from the 'Slasher' film genre. One of the reasons it is so well regarded is because it had much better production values than many slasher films of the day. The concept of a killer that gets you in your sleep was original when it came out. Even the bad 'soap opera' acting, when graded on a curve, was a step up from some of the films in this genre. Great reaction to a classic horror film.
What a great choice for the last spooky movie!!! This is a Wes Craven classic and so very happy you reacted/reviewed it. 😊 It definitely started a franchise that soared and made Freddy a now classic horror villain. I would love for you to review at least the following 2 films after this one (part 2 Freddy's Revenge and part 3 Dream Warriors). I think you would enjoy them. Another good Wes Craven pick is Scream. Love your reactions Nat and your curly hair are always amazing!! 😊🖤
"When does the nightmare end?" well there are 6 more movies in this franchise, then you have Freddie vs. Jason and the remake of this movie from 2010...and of course there's the TV series Freddies nightmares from the late 80's...and I imagine that sitting on some executives desk somewhere in hollywood are numerous scripts for Nightmare on Elm St. remakes or even a new Slasher cinematic universe...
As far as horror movies to watch outside of October, I highly recommend The Myst. It’s a lot like The Thing in that the majority of the movie is about the tension between people as they are trapped in a horrific situation. I must warn you though. The Myst is not for the faint of heart. The reason it’s not a Halloween movie isn’t because it’s less scary so much as because it’s so gut-wrenching and nihilistic it might sour the mood of the Holiday. I have a month long horror movie marathon every year in October, but I once made the mistake of putting the Myst early in the lineup after having forgotten much of the movie over time. I was so depressed afterwards that I cancelled the whole marathon and watched an anime rom-com instead, lol. I’m sure pitching a movie as being emotionally upsetting is unappealing, but hey, horror is supposed to be uncomfortable right? It excels in many other ways, as well, anyway. It’s rough, but it’s absolutely worth a watch.

@@cf714_ Not sure what you mean "1st time or not." I was just making a joke by agreeing with you that she gets out of natmare season only for me to suggest another. I wasn't being serious about my suggestion.
@@Leon-wz1js no no I mean whether its her first or second time watching Home Alone, im still excited
As long as we get Scrooged, Die Hard, and Gremlins for the Christmas watch.
Have enjoyed binge watching all of these vids from the hiking, camping through Star Wars, Mandalorian, Firefly and Natmare season. It is all awesome thank you for all the work you put in. To quote Johnny from the movie The Outsiders "Stay Gold"
I like it how, now that she watched other films, she can reference those while watching new ones like when she mentions the exorcist and the matrix
next thing you know she's using those references to take down Antman or save Dr Strange
lmao I lost it when you screamed. I wasn't ready for that!
Also, yes, she knew it was all a dream, but that didn't change the fact that she was scared. The important part of that scene is that she understands that Freddy needs her fear to have any power over her.
"Manifest a weapon of some sort"
Hmmm, sounds like a good idea for a superior sequel...
Alice: Hold my Nunchucks!
This is actually one of my favorite reactions you’ve done!
Scream....I believe that's Wes Craven... also a good fun movie.
yes it was directed by Wes Craven and he has an appearance in the movie.
@@pappajudas9267 Scream was Rated R. The horror genre was dying and on life support, Scream breathed new life into slashers and horror in the 90's.
@@RicketyRooster I didn't say Scream was rated PG13 I said it was the flagship. Every horror movie after Scream was a soft cookie cutter copy. Not that the Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th film's had been fresh for a while. I know it's just studio executives trying to work out what will make the most money. But the best horror are actually cult classic that did horrible in their theatrical release.
It's a good template for people from '90s to present: meta-snarkers who are just as dumb as those they mock when push comes to shove. 😄
My god. Heather Anderson's eyes have always been crazy. That blue is stunning.
"are horrors my movie genre now?"
The moment you watch one horror movie, you're pretty much sucked in lol.
"And that began the Nightmare, but on MY street!"
"Oh, God. I look 20 years old."
*Fun Fact:* Heather Langenkamp (who played Nancy) was 20 years old when this movie came out.
I've never been so happy to see a upload ahhhh
Yeah, that kid who looked like Johnny Depp.
That was Johnny Depp.
"Hiding behind this little teenage boy." I was waiting for recognition to set in.
I've always felt that Johnny Depp bears a very strong resemblance to Johnny Depp.

I'm sure somebody somewhere has come up with the idea of...
Depp Thoughts... by Jack Sparrow.
the behind the scenes featurettes for this film are fantastic to watch, they do in depth of how they film Tina and Glen's death scenes and it really shows you the beautiful mind that Wes Craven had in these types of films.
Fun trivia fact, the actor who plays the dream doctor Nancy’s mom takes her too is the voice of Roger Rabbit. 😊
Yes, Charles Fleischer was also in another horror movie: Demon Knight.
I take it you're a newbie. Most nightmare fans know this. But congrats for finding out nonetheless. 👍
PPPPPPlease, don't mind him.
I've just discovered your channel and I'm binging right through it.
As a person who has been brought with horror films ever since I was a kid, it both surprises me and brings me joy that people get to see and enjoy some of the classic horrors. I would not never thought that someone had never seen Nightmare on Elm Street or Aliens, it's kind of unfathomable for me but here we are.
I hope you keep it up with this channel, your reactions are absolutely hilarious as it reminds me of when I got to introduced to these flicks.
A personal recommendation I can give is to give the films Cabin in the Woods or the Evil Dead series a shot!
"Never lock the door when you're taking a bath or shower." Next movie should be Psycho.
OMG NATALIE!!! That tune you play in your Natmare videos almost give me a heart attack.... every time.
You could call the Playlist, "A Natmare on TH-cam." :P
So disappointed we didn't see your reaction to the mother getting pulled through the window at the end, it's SO bad and I love it 😄
Then the rest of the household including guests will simply have to watch EVIL DEAD with you. :)
1 and evil dead 2!
I think this is the best reaction I’ve ever seen to anything. Liked and subscribed
I don't know if you've already seen the film or not but I think another NATMARE option could be An American Werewolf in London. It is a great classic film and one of my favorites of all time. The visual effects were ground-breaking for 1981. Have a great Halloween and I look forward to your next reaction video.
Yes! This one is 100% required viewing for halloween! One of the classics.
I totally agree with this recommendation. 100%!! So good. A classic!!!! Directed by the director of MICHAEL JACKSON'S THRILLER and BLACK OR WHITE.
@@dcmslife3772 And the infamous Twilight Zone - The Movie
She'll have a bloody heart attack if she watches that.
@@markcaldwell2831 Nahhh, it's scary but it' not heart-attack scary, suitably chilling in all the right ways though!
"What kind of nightmare is that?"
A: One that's on Elm Street.
Pretty sure I was your 100,000th sub, congrats btw I've really enjoyed your content so far :)
"She said it was just a dream awhile ago! What?"
She didnt actually believe it till then.
LOL I love Horror and Soap Opera's , so the fact you called this A horror soap opera I smiled :D
I was like 6 when i watch this movie
Scared the crap out of me
First movie i saw with Johnny Depp
Man he was young look so different in this movie
I saw this movie for the first time when I was 6 too. Depp's death scene scared me so bad, it took me 14 years to recover.
Same 👍🏻
I see.
Are you still scared of Johnny Depp?
Agreed he looks very different here...now we have wild overacting and rediculous makeup.
When they showed that movie I was still a minor so I couldn't see it, but years later they showed it on TV, and it was one of the most watched on national TV here in Peru at that time, I was afraid to sleep at night before going to school
"that's just a nightmare"
Yeah... about that... xD
"Never lock the door when you take a bath or shower."
Actually great advice. A friend of mine almost drowned because he passed out in a shower once & managed to close the drain, almost drowned if I didn't check on him.
Yo Nat! 2 movies:
- Constantine
- V for Vendetta
Cool stories, a bit of action and great actors.
5:05 "They're all hiding behind this little teenage boy!" I'm not sure if Nat realizes that "little teenage boy" is Johnny Depp.
Try American Werewolf in London, it's only a little scary, HONEST...
someone's pants are on fire
It does have a lot of comedy.
yeah only a little scary
👀
Gonna watch that on Saturday 'cos full moon!
Scary for the time like all these films, not scary at all for an adult in 2020
I can’t be the only person here who doesn’t notice or isn’t bothered by the lighting problems. The episodes are great, keep it up!
Watch gremlins or killer klowns from outer space. I just wanna see someone watch em
I saw this movie when I was 7 years old. It was scary as hell. I thought that Freddy would appear in my dreams if I behaved badly ;). I really enjoy your reactions on youtube. They're GREAT! and this one made my day. Love from Elm street...
Heather Langenkamp would’ve actually been about 19 when filming this.
@Andy Hutton yeah, look how much she’s aged in Star Trek Into Darkness. She played the Enterprise officer manning the control console in the brig when Kirk was interrogating Harrison/Khan.
Nancy: I’m crazy after all.
Natalie: No You’re not.
Freddy: Aaahhhh!
(Natalie screams)
That was awesome!
"Poor Rod. He's really getting the short end of the stick here."
Me: Don't you mean the short end of the Rod?
I'm sorry, I will see myself out.
and close the door on your way out
Had a lot of fun watching this with you ! An interesting horror rom-com is "Warm Bodies" ; a classic girl meets undead-boy story.
“Every town has an Elm Street.” F.K 1991.
Freddy's Dead! That film is so underrated. I love its silly looney tunes humour and parts of it are genuinely creepy. And we get to see how Freddy came to be. How he tried to be good and just was rotten. Interesting as well as scatterbrained.
@@Emulous79 part 1 and part 3 are the only ones I enjoyed
The Nancy storyline is started and finished in those 2 films
I live near an Elm Street. And pass by a road named Morningside on the way to work.
@@thomasbaron5367 You forgot about New Nightmare where "Nancy" comes back...
Natalie, love your channel. I salute you for watching these horror movies, suggest The Fly or The Visitors as your last one of possible lol, or even after the weekend. Both are the only horror movies I am willing to watch. Both are so emotionally harrowing and investing.
You need to watch these movies *ASAP:*
- The Grave of the Fireflies
- Midsommar
- Hereditary
- Your Name
- The Pianist
- The Truman Show
Grave of the Fireflies? ... Are you trying to emotional break her?
@@krazyknva78 Yes, with Midsommar and Hereditary on the list, Grave of the Fireflies will be the hardest one to digest. :P
@@MrSilentBill 😂
The grave of the fireflies is too much
Wow, Grave of the Fireflies, Your Name and The Pianist are simply three of my all time favorite films. That would be great.
Recommendations for next year's Natmare season: Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Babadook, and The Fly (the David Cronenberg one)
I haven't even seen this movie but I just enjoy you screaming at movies. Keep doing what you do.
"What kind of nightmare was that?"
*Leonardo Dicaprio face*
'Why, its a nightmare on Elm St ah-hehehehe'
Please watch parts 3 & 4 as well!
